KK lets face it keep flipping is easy and a guaranteed way of making comms ,personally i had a good hr of pvp today and clocked just under 2k comms....in theory i think this was turbines forward way of thinking (players will pvp like hell to make comms) although this backfired and lead to red/blue/red/blue and nearly zero pvp .

So imo flip vrs pvp.....pvp wins hands down and is way faster to earn comms ,dont think this will make much difference to players hunger for comms but ya never know just have think about it thx.

I agree with you Pouch, but the Comms issue has made Ettens as much a PVE map as a PVMP one now. I ranked to rank 8 on my WL this evening, I had enough Comms to buy the skill upgrades etc but could not get the appearance as that alone costs 7,500 Comms, and the easiest way to get that as much as PVP is to aslo PVE. I had all the Lumis, + other stones + 1 million DP saved up, enough to get everything I needed before U6, but this change has meant creeps need to grind Comms as much as freeps do and PVP will suffer. With the 10K Comms cap no decently ranked Creep will never have enough Comms to obtain everything needed or desired after they rank. The only slight postive is that more Creeps and Freeps roam the more obscure areas of the map now and sometimes some good fights on chance encounters can be had, but usually because Comms and not PVP was the motive for being in that area, therefore NPCS are usually involved either for or against Creep/Freep so even that can unbalance a good PVP fight in such an encounter. It is beyond ridiculous that with all the improvements Devs could have made to PVP (and PVE) they wasted time on a currency system nobody either side was asking for or felt was needed. The only Dev agenda I can see was not PVP or PVE improvement, but to get people to buy TP at the store. But hey, we still have the Bird at the tree we can kill, the greatest PVP update ever. Sigh.

Well, the new currency was made to encourage pvp rather then pve in ettens. Yet they gave every quest a comms reward. Anyone can see where they messed up here ?

Tbh i was expecting a pvp drop due to the new pve area etc and rewards ,just didnt forsee a complete pvp drop (sigh) its picking up abit i suppose, anyways have think about it few hrs of pvp outways pve in ettons by miles comms etc.

De-rail but what you lot think of the Creep/Freep balance now 50/50 must be close now ?

I may have misunderstood this but did you say you earned just under 2000 Comm in one hour by PvPing, not PvEing?

well if you want PvP then you're always welcome to seek out my warg. I'm rarely alone (I'm a packwarg, always been and proud of it ) but I'm no fan of all this PvE keep flipping either and would prefer a good fight any day. You could always bring a few friends if my pack is large that day

Killing solo 2 creeps/freeps takes what 3min per fight max?

so lets say if odds are on your side, you get 2 players running straight to you, get the kills thats minimum of 1 keepflip worth of commendations, so yes pvp > pve.

Problem is that they decided to give loads of commendations for incredibly easy deeds (2k from deeds alone for a map flip if you kill chieftans). If you have a spare creep slot you can just infinitely re-roll to get that extra 2k each time the map is flipped back red.

I agree, perhaps if the amount of commendations were reduced for PVE keep flips but increased for other things such as the actual quests you get from the keeps it would reduce the rush for keep flipping. If the amount you received for the map deeds were also increased then perhaps there would not be such a rush to delete the spare creep slot.

I still dont see the point of commendations anyway

Nice little bit pvp starting to build at the fields etc was few nice brawls yesterday ,never thought i say it but i would be happy with the old school hugging long as it was pvp .

Full time pvp will return once we all grind what we need ,its just such a shame turbine overlooked the outcome of ezmode pve rewards ,pve in ettons should only reward rank bonus and maybe little barter ,pvp should reward conns <--mm removed for comedy value) + rank........ wow i fixed the lack of pvp in ettons in that one line.

At the end of the day 98% of lotro is pve so why the hell did they set back the only 2% pvp we have ,lotro is a pve game with a very small pvp side to it don't come up if you don't like pvp or dying , introducing even more need for pve in the 2% we have is a crazy move greedy devs you guys thought that players who mostly stay away from the ettons would come up to pvp all you guys did was push the regs into pve and gain handful of new gun and runners--->(earn and leave ettons).

Pvmp would be much better without the keeps i think but if Turbine didnt remove the 2hr 'switching' cooldown then this commendation thing would work. But lotro is gradually transforming into a game which is based on 'all time buying' so one day we will only be able to buy everything with tp i guess.

I agree with most of you, that it was ezmode, and therefor kinda rubbish to do it, though ppl in my kin has done it as well.
I am probably one of the few that has not taken part in it. I do like going to ettens, and im usually there alot on freep. However with new content out, i decided to go explore the world and help rohirrims in need, and i refused to do the keep flipping, cause in my opinion (and you may troll me afterwards) its for cowards, loosers, or ppl who simply cannot be arsed to stick their noose out in ettens, cause they are afraid they will loose precious ranking.

However Its been done. The damage is done and cannot be reversed. I think the ppl who didnt take part in the flipping (freeps and creeps) ought to be commended, but we are also in a disadvantage. Many of us would rather use our pve sets, due to better stats and bonuses, however that will comprimise surviability alot. So now we actually have to PVP against creeps/freeps that have a high audacity, in order to get our sets/traits. That means some of us are broken, and some classes might be easier to solo on ettens than others.

I tried hunter last night, I made 1 solo kill on a warg, but the few spiders i ran into, and few wargs (even 1on1) its insanely hard.
You can feel the CC duration thing now, and the damage reduction, but I got my #### handed to me on a silver platter, sort to speak. Pre U6 not many wargs would even attempt to solo a highly geared hunter (wich would be foolish tbh) now, the otherway around.. All this might be good for balance, specially for lower ranked creeps.

Point of it all is: STOP Flipping keeps, get back to the action, PVP your way to commendations. Thats skill, not cowardness. Ill take a gank for what it is, and ill retreat and go try to kill duskdancer again, and again, and again, and here goes the Duracell bunny...

Yea its bit tricky 1v1 now cant really judge yet with only 3 bits of bordacity ,sure the pvp will return when we all kitted out with the gear get yourself back up dim we can die like heroes .
