There is so much that can be done with the XML downloads from LotRO, but it hasn't improved since introduction.
Some things I would want: Completed Deed list, complete PVP stats for my characters, virtues loaded, class traits loaded... You know, a complete data list of what I have on my character, and the characters in my kinship.
I understand that this is a lot of data... a LOT of data. However, I would be willing to pay for the ability to download this information, so I can keep up-to-date stats for my kinnies. $$$ = data.
Forumites: what would be an appropriate amount of cashola for this kind of extract to be providable?
In the past, I've seen limited discussion of the data.lotro.com APIs in the Community Site Feedback forum. It also pops up sporadically in several other forums. There isn't one official place to discuss it.
Turbine's main public face for that API (and other technical aspects of myLOTRO, the Lorebook, etc.) lately has been Duwis.
Personally, I would not be willing to pay extra for programmatic access to the additional data you describe. The service is so buggy in the first place that I think it would be irresponsible for Turbine to charge extra for such a feature. (Of all the Community Site services, it's probably the one that most deserves to still keep the "beta" tag after 2 or 3 years.)
As someone who is kind of completionist AND alt-o-holic, I have been checking especially Lorebook quest after every update ever since it became available, and I have been irritated a bit because there has been missing quests etc every now and then. But things has become worse and worse, and today it's not only those new Great River quests that are missing from Lorebook, the entire Rise of Isengard (Dunland) quests are missing, all of them!
It's so ridiculous now that I have thought seriously that I might study some LUA scripting IF it was possible to leech LOTRO database somehow using that script language, so that I could build "quest tracker" of my own, using UP-TO-DATE data. Unfortunately Turbine doesn't want to provide us players any kind of "database", maybe they wish we build the systems ourselves.
All of those things like deeds for character, reputations and so on would be nice..but we have a problem with so simple thing like kinship roster...
Thing is (and probably it is hardly discussed somewhere here) that many kinships from Europe servers are not able to donwload list of characters from data.lotro.com..
I would appreciate to fix this first and then we can talk about something else..
I second that! I'd be happy at this point if the current data.lotro.com worked... we'll see about improving it after that.
