Thread: Looking for a heavy rp kinship [GMT]

My name is Vanya and I just joined the game a couple of days back. Now after familiarizing myself with it a bit, I decided that it was time to find myself some good rp on the Laurelin server. The idea that I was toying with is a hunter/woodsman from Gondor or possibly Rohan and I'd love to find him a community of friends and allies to have some fun with. Really looking forward to emerge myself in the gameworld and would love to push the woodsman idea through in the crafting options, weaponry, etc.

I'm a mature player, with a lot of experience in forum roleplaying/interactive storytelling and this is my first time that I ever tried a MMO. So if anyone is interested in helping a new player find his way into the game and some serious rp, please let me know

G'day. If you would like to participate in RP on Laurelin here I first would recommend to join one or several of the scheduled RP events. The public ones are always happy to have new participants.

Check the Forum general list. There are some nice public event advertised there. Choose the ones you like and join them. Then you will meet people from certain kinships and then you can get in contact with them so you might join their kinship. It's always better to meet the people before randomly join them.

The reason for that is that there are several themes of RP. Race based ones (Hobbit, Elves, Men, Dwarfs & and of course mixed), Class based ones (i saw some Hunters and Lore Masters Events ...) and than there are topic based ones: Lore, Drinking and Eating (my favorite ... I'm a hungry Hobbit Guardian), War, History, Poems & Songs, Dancing, Traveling ("Sightseeing"), Craftings (Cooking Events), Games and many more) You need to try which ones are the ones you like the most, so you can make a decision which kinship will be best for you.

There are several kinships that do several of that RP topic event.

Here are a few i can recommend to you here on Laurelin:

• Wilderness Appreciation Day
• Hûd in Eledhrim (Hall of Fire Wednesday)
• Green Dragon Friday
• Hobbit Historical Field Trip

What you also should do is to visit RP heavy areas to meet guys from RP kinships you can get in contact with. The Prancing Pony is a very good place to start. Every day in the evening there are several guys around there doing RP.

I personally are not in a RP kinship on Laurelin. At the moment I only join the events to enjoy RP.

I figured that it would be a good time for a little update. My character turned out to be a Gondorian Warden who's currently at level 15 and made his way to Bree. I've spent some time in the Prancing Pony and although I managed to do some light rp, it's still not really what I'm looking for.

So here I am again, looking for a group of people that would take a newbie like me in and give my character a purpose in the game. xD I haven't given him a background yet, because I wanted to leave my options open until I manage to find a Kinship. He's likely going to have some militaristic background, but I'm really open to all kinds of kinships as long as they're active and love to forge some sort of story with our characters in Middle-Earth.

Also, if there are some people that would love to rp, but aren't part of a kinship, I'd be totally up for that too. Just hit me up on here or find me in the game as Salamir Calderion.
