Wow, I didn't even look. Too bad I'm at work. *sigh*
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
Civ II rules after all these years......
Yes, it does look much neater and easier to navigate. I had a quest that took me back to the beginning to Archet and that's been changed too! Big improvement!
I wonder if the other starting areas have been changed as well! I guess they would have been unless they're just going to do it bit by bit.
The map of Archet has been changed some weeks ago, definitely. I remember, I mentioned it to my wife some time ago.
Would someone mind to post a screen of the new Bree map? Yesterday, I viewed the maps of the Shire, Ered Luin and so on, but left Bree out, wonder why. When I realised that nothing had changed, I was pleased, but now, I'm curious about the Bree map

What really "bothers" me is the fact, that every region has it's "icon" in the german world map, except Enedwaith.
Don't have a screen ready, but I think you know what I mean.
When you look at the map of Eriador, you see the weathertop as an icon for the lone-lands. There is a tree for the shire and a tree for the trollshaws and so on.
But when I look where Enedwaith should be, there is simply nothing, not even the word "Enedwaith".
When I hover the mouse over the area, where Enedwaith should be, it becomes clickable.
So, in short: I miss Enedwaith at the german Eriador map
Update:
Enedwaith's still missing on the german map of Eriador.
The maps of Breetown and Thorins Gate are the same as usual. No changes for the german client, I still see the old maps.
Coincidence?
Lazyness?

Eregion, Moria, I think Dunland, I think Mirkwood, and the like are updated, but nothing West of the Misty Mountains outside of Archet, Bree-town, and the Vale of Thrain.

Mirkwood, Enedwaith and Dunland are not updates. They were originally made in that style back when they were first added.
The maps seem more in the style of the maps in the books. I like them and its nice to see changes like that, gives the feeling that the devs and designers are still looking at ways to improve existing features.
I just hope they consider reviewing the housing system.
Just wanted to say: Love the new map style. Would be awesome to have them all in this style. Its much easier on the eyes and somewhat easier to navigate.
I like new style except those stupid minimountains-borders. It looks ridiculous, it doesn't fit the real geography lorewise and in the game. Just look on Bree map. Back of Prancing Pony there is one big hill, but on the map we see a lot small "mountains" stalactite-like. PLEASE remove those mountains-borders.
There more ways to distinct playable and non-playable areas. Non-playable areas can be grey out.
PS. Also i'd like to see map of the Combe and North Chetwood. I played with my friend who is total noob. He could find places in Archet via map, but couldn't in Combe because of big map. He often lost there.
