New to LOTRO, Love it so far @lvl7, hope I picked the right server.
Long ago I lived at home, played WOW from beta on one of the greatest RP servers Argent Dawn, was part of a Mixed PVP/Raiding guild called House of Arathor. I ventured through Molten Core, Blackwing Liar, Temple of An'Qiraj(we had C'Thun to 6% before Naxx), and through Naxx farming what we could knowing BC was coming, never killing The Four Horsemen til after the expansion. I played BC for a bit, on and off, played through WotLK and quit before Cataclysm. On the PVP end of it during classic WOW I helped push 3 guildies to Grand Marshal and had a ton of PVP experience throughout the expansions.
I quit for a number of reasons, one being the $15/month wasn't a viable option for me anymore, other being time to play with a 50-60 hour job, getting married & having our first child. Now I am at a point where I have some time to game again and to get my spirits back up(became disabled & can't work due to DDD). I did try many free rpg's before coming to LOTR, but couldn't get into any of them. I absolutely love LOTR & have the full Blue-Ray extended editions of the movies to watch over and over again(as long as the wife's not home). I lvl'd so far to "7" , basically right out of the "introduction" and I have to say I love the game so far. The story line/quests are very well thought out in my opinion. I played beta Eligium to lvl 15 and didn't like the automation of walking between NPC's/Quests and the outright *beta* feel(you'll know what I mean if you ever play this game).
So i researched the servers and made my choice based on a few things. First I wanted a server with a decent population and I made my decision based on forum posts here. This server doesn't seem to be *packed* but somewhere in the middle. I love to see that people are actively involved in RP'ing(saw the post about the concert, so awesome) and that people here are a bit more mature than other servers. I hope I made the right choice and hope to see you all in game. I don't dare think I am better or more experienced because of my WOW experiences as it almost seems having my WOW mentality hurts me in this game. Anyhow, just wanted to say Hi and shout out to "Aglovale"(you have my freaking name is used in WOW) and so I will go by "Aglovalle" in the Middle Earth of Elendilmir!
If anyone has some advice for my transition I would love it. Would love to here from some of the guilds out there as well, as I will need a home once I grow-up .

Hi there, I have several "alts" on this server and am a member of the kinship; Sanctuary. I can only say that I enjoy this server very much. I have not gone to the concert and have not tried RP'ing. So I can't comment on that.
I can say that the people on this server have been polite and helpful. My other experience in this game is on Brandywine. Great server for getting PUGs together, thanks to a huge population. However, things can get a bit wooley for the same reason. Takes all types, right?
Drop me a note in game or look for me when I am signed in. We can chat more then. My alts are, Wulfdred, Erlnel and Hardblo.

E is a fun server. Ninety percent of the folks on this server are pretty damn awesome. The ten percent who are less than awesome- well you will see them eventually.
Usually you can find people pretty easy for end game stuff and upper level skirmishes. The Eriador Music Society is a blast if you like the in game music. Landraval has a bit more RP but there are a few around here on E too. I don't consider myself an RPer but I do enjoy acting like a minstrel might act while waiting for a raid (juggling, firebreath, etc...)
I came here from DAoC not long after LOTRO first came out. Never got into WoW, tried it but it didn't fit for me. Loved LOTR and well the game is usually a ton of fun. It can suck you in really fast though.
Good Hunting.
Place was overrun with rats when we moved in. The spearwives killed the nasty buggers. Now the place is overrun with spearwives. There’s days I want the rats back~Dolorous Edd

The kinship I belong to is called Sanctuary (in the same kin as coruven), and we are a bunch of crazy, cake loving, noob helping people. website is here if ya want to check us out http://www.guild-santuary.com
Have fun!
Other toons (Elendilmir): Lorespark Man LM, Sparkness Dwarf RK, Bowspark Man Hunter, and Leadspark Man Captain.

Hey welcome. I am pretty much a noob at MMO's but have really enjoyed LOTO since I started playing. I do enyoy the RP'ing and just wandering around admiring the scenery. I think like you I love all the movies and the lore and the game seems to get a lot of it right. I have levelled pretty slowly as a result of my casual approach but have managed to help a couple of others along the way who have always been super appreciative. I reckon E is a pretty friendly place although has been a bit quieter of late. Hope to c ya in there.

Welcome to Elendilmir! I am new to the game and server, too, but I love it already. I've met wonderful people both in and outside my kin. I think you made a great choice in choosing this server.
