    Which Stangard Class Scroll

Should hit Ally with Riders of Stangard tonight and will be able to purchase the Enduring Scrolls for my belt. (A long way from Ally with Limlight gorge)

    Presently my stats are:

    B: 7792 - 19.1%
    P 5953 - 16.2%
    E: 2916 - 6.9%

As I rarely find decent Evade gear I was leanng towards evade... hwoever its so low now will adding a little here and a little there even help?

I'd go with yes on evade. Every bit of evade/agility is a God given present. The equation is built on diminuishig results, so evade is easier to build from 0- 10% than form 20-25%

While I do agree with you: evade is great, it applies even when enemies hit you from behind... We do not have reactive skills based on evade.

More block or parry could grant more reactives and gain more threat.

I think mathematically, you're going to get more out of the stats from the evade scroll, and since block and parry are far easier to get, I'd say go with evade. I'm running about 23 - 24% block and my threat reactives are usually on CD. I'll be grabbing the evade scroll for the avoidance.

Vita or blocking. NOT evade. Who cares about evading, you need to block to use your best tanking skills, so always go for blocking and of course survivability (i.e. Vita)...

Yes, because morale stacking is the only way to gain survivability...

I'll go for 2x evade scrolls (well, already have 1..) when I do the area on my guard.

it is the only way for fights where you can't b/p/e which are not uncommon... like Balrog in OD or Bukot in ToO... so if you're raiding, then yes, Vita is the way to go for survivability, especially since it's not just morale, but also tactical mitigation (which is also key in raids like ToO)!

True, but the tactical mit cap isn't hard to reach in a raid (I'm almost there with only scrolls & ward with quite a few pieces of gear missing) so it's really only 135 morale. Evade is very hard to get in other places without giving up lots of other stats so I will go for that, but each to their own.

    This.

I get so many reactive that I don't really need any more. I am capped in tactical mitigation in raids, so I don't really need more vitality either. Evade is another matter entirely, and getting a few additional percent won't hurt. So it will be evade for me.

Why would a Guardian want to evade and attack?

You wont get your block reactives or parry reactives open if you evade attacks.

A Guardian should be boosting Block first, then parry as block is most important.

Remember the B/P/E/incoming heal cap is at 25% now.

I'm fairly certain no one is leaving the game due to confusion of what a strawman is or isn't. Which tells me we're done here.

If your block is already at 23-24% the rating won't do as much because of diminishing returns. So, for example, if the scroll had a rating of 500, and your block is already over 20% then it might raise it .5% (this isn't mathematically correct, just for reference). But with an evade at 6-7% that same 500 rating might give you 3%. So, you get more mitigation by adding evade over block. Like I said, personally my threat skills are on cooldown a lot of the time, (especially if you are tanking a couple mobs) so adding to b/p/e would only be to increase damage mitigation - and you're going to get more of that from the evade scroll.

For my guard, I can't recall my stats right now, I'll be going for block.
Like Vysion 34 said, block is most important because its how we build threat.
I'd rather cap my block rating before worrying about my evade.
Evade is nice, but we're not wardens.

Maybe evade for PvMP gear, though, just an after thought.

I'd rather have 23% block 10% evade than 25% block 7% evade. Block is so easy to cap nowdays with the limlight gorge jewellry sets.

then you're doing it wrong. You can't have enough block (unless capped of course)! In some ToO fights you NEED to have the block chain available on CD or you're not gonna hold the aggro.
And as has been stated by Anwiga, we're not Wardens, so block >>> evade...

Are you saying a Guardian with 23% block is not going to hold agro in some ToO fights but a Guardian with 25% block is?

Well I have two different belts for two different builds, on my morale build belt I went with the vit one since its all about vitality with that one. On the other one I went with tact miti with blocking since that build is nothing but blocking on it

    Narrow viewpoints... I love them
So, examine what we know: B/P/E is additive, an avoided attack is avoided, and block/parry chains are fairly easy to keep on CD with any decent stats (>20%)
Therefore... what stat is going to increase my avoidance the most? Evade.
Further, because of the way that finesse works (converted to a % then proportionately subtracted from avoidance's) getting 3% evade is actually going to increase my actual post-finesse block and parry as well.
Fresh to 75 get the vitality, but once tactical mit is capped evade is clearly best.

    This!

The arguements about needing reactives for agro, blah blah blah don't really hold much water. As a guardian, with a threat legacy on a belt, EVERYTHING you do generates threat. Building, maintaining and stealing back threat if you lose it, isn't very hard for a guard. Against multiples of mobs your CDs are going to be on CD, in fact they are often popping up so much I have to lose one in order to fire off any other skills.

But think about this; after agro building what's the importance of the block and parry. Its the whole NOT taking/mitigating damage. After building agro this is what we strive for. The most survivability. So if you can improve one of your defensive skills by a larger percentage than the other then overall you're much better off. As has been stated several times evade is very rare and if you can get some cheap easy evade in a pretty good number I'd go for it as well.

I have seen lots of opinion here, but no numbers. It seems that the vitality increase (or any other primary stat you chose) is +27. But what about B/P/E ? Is 300 a correct guess ? Or is it less ?

To modify my previous comment in this thread, if it is less than 144 evade I will go for agility, otherwise I will go for evade.
