Thread: Chetwood Cup Horse Race - Saturday, March 24 at 3pm EST - Hengstacer Farms

The Chetwood Cup will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 3pm EST on the Landroval server.

This race has Gold prizes of 25 for win, 10 for place, and 5 for show.
The top three riders will also qualify to participate in the Bree Cup, a grand event that crowns the Spring Racing Carnival in late April.

There is a 1 gold entry fee. To register, send mail to Kiralynn your horse’s name and breed. The gold entry fee will be collected on race day. Only 10 new entries, 3 alternates, and previous race winners (*) will be accepted. Registration closes 15 minutes before the race begins.

The pre-race party will begin an hour before post time at Hengstacer Farms. The stage will be open during the second half of the party for anyone who wants to perform.

The race begins at the first gate of the Hengstacer Farms race course.


Checkpoint One – Through the third gate of the farm’s race course.


Checkpoint Two – Counter-clockwise turn around the ruined stones by the broken wall.
Riders must not jump over the stones or go through them, but must pass with all stones on their left.


Checkpoint Three – Counter-clockwise around the tree at the top of the cliff near the pond.

The finish is an imaginary line between the two gate posts at the end of the farm’s race course.



Riders do not need to follow the Hengstacer farm’s race course. They must only pass through the first, third and last gates.

The Chetwood Cup was a success. Three scratches allowed the alternate riders to participate. A crowd gathered at Hengstacer Farms before post time to enjoy music organized by Floradine. As ale and pipeweed were passed around, the judges walked the race course in preparation for the main event.

The riders are off to a strong start heading for the gate marking the first checkpoint...
Approaching the ruins, several horses toward the outside following the fence line, here comes the high log jump...
The horses are galloping through the fields toward the dangerous cliff drop, already several riders are pulling ahead...
Several horses have been injured and fall to the back of the pack, the lead riders set a challenging pace coming into the back stretch...
Riders urge their horses over the fence jumps and toward the final turn, they're coming into view at the finish line...
Calatharan and Isaewyn are neck and neck... Guldrion and Androsir are pressing their horses for more speed...
They have crossed the finish line with a thunder of hooves! The judges will confer now to make a final determination.

The final results are:

2) Isaewyn - 10 gold
3) Guldrion - 1 gold
4) Androsir
5) Rosaliee
6) Narania



Calatharan, Isaewyn and Guldrion now qualify to participate in the Bree Cup, the crowning event of the Spring Racing Carnival, on Saturday, April 21st!
