Re: Petition to the devs, in memory of the loss of a beloved player!!!!!
Coming from someone who's never played with Nidor, I sign the petition from reading the 3 words thread.
At the very least, ESPECIALLY after seeing the positive influence this player has had on the community, it would be appropriate for someone from Turbine to respond to this in some way.
Re: Petition to the devs, in memory of the loss of a beloved player!!!!!
DEVS!! Please respond in some way, shape, or form to this request.
Nidor exemplified not only the Brandywine community spirit, but as far as i know the community spirit of any MMO, and the world is poorer without him in it.
Valinor has gained a friend in Nidor while Middle Earth has lost him as a treasure.
Re: Petition to the devs, in memory of the loss of a beloved player!!!!!
It sounds to me like Nidor had a special influence on this community -- and I haven't heard a single person say anything bad about him -- which is rare, especially for PvP'ers, haha.
./signed on any and all of the suggestions. I would love to see it happen.

One of the things we could use in LOTRO is a stronger community sense, turbine included. While I’m not part of this server PvP if this proposed change had to be done across all servers I am confident the players of riddermark would support it.
If it’s not to be I wish you all the best and good luck with the endeavor and your remembrance on the 21st

Turbine, don't open up the headache of in-game memorials. Let players choose to gather and memorialize players however they see fit, on their own, but a permanent memorial isn't something I or anyone else I play with deserves.
To those who knew the player, I wish you well in this time of grief and loss, keep the memory alive with celebration and joy, not some impersonal game display.
Thank you for your unsolicited response. Please go away.

Hopefully this will be a permanent point on the terrain as suggested.
If not please create a temporary beacon, host of banners, flight of eagles, huge glowing spider or other temporary memorial.
I for one will be planting my WL banner on 3/21 at 10PM server time on Nidor's Rock.

i read through the three words thread from beginning to end again when i had heard of his passing, and you couldnt help but tear up, and feel for nidor and his family.
i would hope that the devs would respond in one way or another. if they cant make this happen, then maybe they could suggest some other way to mark the rock as his. another poster suggested maybe a flag on the rock, to symbolize it. i would support any way to memorialize the place. also, if this were to happen, maybe whenever you got close to it, something came up on your screen saying "you sense something has recently departed this world here, the sorrow is palpable". just something along those lines, i feel it would be a fitting honour.

I'm not going to respond in a haughty manner, as the man I'm trying to get this memorial created for would set the example.
Nobody is asking you or others to play with a memorial, however, had you actually played on Brandywine with or against Nidor, you'd have /signed in a heartbeat. This isn't an assumption, it's a fact. Even the most hated players became steadfast friends with Bruce once they corresponded with him either in game or via the forums.
I will, however, thank you for the sincere well wishing at the end of your post.
I hope that one day, you would get to meet a person who can make such an impact on people who are just "playing a video game". He made us all the better without even knowing he was doing it.

This thread brings tears to my eyes.
In my heart Nidor set the example on our server. A name I will never forget.
Nidor was always in a good mood regardless of what was happening off screen. He stayed true to the creep spirit.
He was always down to slay some freeps no matter what we were up against.
Enjoy the time you have with your loved ones and the spare time you have playing this game.
Enjoy the bonds you have with the people you meet throughout your travels.
