Thread: Petition to the devs, in memory of the loss of a beloved player!!!!!

Dear Orion and company,


Brandywine lost one of it's original founders in a fight against cancer. Nidor left Middle Earth for Valinor around noon today.

I would like to propose a game change for the Brandywine server if at all possible. I have three idea's and I think the Brandywine community would like to see one of them implemented to keep the spirit of Bruce Rosenberg, a.k.a. Nidor alive for some time to come.

Here are my ideas:


1. When a Creep/Freep enters the area known as "Nidor's Rock" have the game let you know you are in the area, just as it does when your Creep/Freep comes upon Lugazag, Tirith Raw, Lumber Camp..etc.

2. Rename the Weaver trainer in Grams to Nidor Anastasi(i think that's his weavers last name) in honor of him.

3. Create a simple quest called "Nidor's Challenge" and have Creeps have to deliver something to the spider den.

Personally, I'm voting on having "Nidor's Rock" named in honor of him.

RIP to a fearsome fighter for Angmar and unforgettable contribution to the BW PvP community as a decent man in every way.

LOTRO PvP players who write history triumph in the end. The late Nidor will be among those who will be remembered, albeit it, at a great cost.

Never ran with him, never made the mistake of letting him catch my Burg in the open. Thoughts to his fam and the creeps that are hurting :/

Yeah, not a claim I can make. But didn't really bother me cause he was such a cool guy. Very sad to hear this news.

Seconded, though I've only been here a short period I've always enjoyed his good humored posts in the pvmp forums. A major loss to say the least. Such a shame.

I really hope Turbine does something like this. I am new to this server, but on vilya about a year and a half ago the leader of the biggest creep tribe named Rekka, a r11 warg, was killed by a drunk driver getting hit head on while driving. We petitioned for a rename of an area he always patrolled but didn't get a word from Turbine. I really hope they listen this time because players do have an impact on this game much more than you think. RIP Nidor.

One of the reasons I play this game and look forward to logging on creepside was to run with people like Nidor. I would often hang back in awe and watch him play and patted myself on the back whenever I pounced to save him or trap some prey for him. Even grinding DoF was bearable whenever I was grouped with him.

I support all 3 ideas and will miss playing with him.

I played my warg on BW maybe two-three years ago. I'll be at the memorial.

/Signed. Renaming a weaver NPC is probably the easiest thing for the programmers to do. Any weaver NPC in Grams is ok with me.

Agreed on renaming an NPC. There is even precedent, I think. Another player on Brandywine passed away--Hammbert--and he returned as an NPC. I'm not sure if this was a Bullroarer-only NPC, but it's a start.
