re-traiting will disable your legendary traits????

Every time I re-trait it pops up a window saying my "legendary traits will still be slotted but some will be disabled". And DISABLED! is in all CAPS with an ! after it like its really important. What does this mean? Does it actually disable anything? Why put a big warning on it if it doesn't??

Are you people (Turbine) purposely trying to worry people for no reason???

Re: re-traiting will disable your legendary traits????

Some of your legendary traits require you to be traited 5 deep in a particular line in order for them to be used. These are usually referred to as 'capstone traits'. If you are traited 5 deep in the red line and have the red line capstone trait slotted, then retrait for the yellow line, you will get the message that your legendary trait has been disabled -- the skill associated with it cannot be used unless you have slotted 5 red class traits. It's a reminder to trait the yellow line capstone or one of the legendaries that do not have a class trait requirement.

None of the 3 legendary traits I use require 5 slotting yet I still get the message.

Re: re-traiting will disable your legendary traits????

They are all probably disabled temporarily while you retrait then. So are some of your other skills when you retrait. For example, if your class has stances, the stances will be toggled off, if you are on horseback, you get dismounted. It's just a precaution to make sure nothing gets messed up when retraiting. Nothing to worry about.

I'm waiting to hear from someone else because clearly revoked doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about as both of his responses have nothing to do with what the issue is!

Actually, both revoked's comments are spot on. All your traits are temporarily disabled while you're retraiting. The message probably displays by default, whether or not you are in fact using any capstone traits.

Also, it's nice to be nice to people who are trying to help you.

As sson as you open the Bard or the Skirmish Trait NPC - Turbine disables everything. It is reminder that you have to reactivate everything after you are done.

It much more noticeable with some classes. Loremasters who have a Pet out find the Pet goes away. There are a lot of Pet traits. I have my Bogger out. I go in to change a virtue. No more Bogger.

It is not like it anything critical. It is annoying especially if I poured water in the Bogger tank right before opening the Bard.

Thank you posters for being more descriptive of the issue. I apologize for being too critical of revoked's comments, I just didn't get what he was saying.

+rep for being decent Coincidental confirmation - I actually got the message you were talking about for the first time yesterday, even though I haven't earned any legendary traits at all yet. I guess it displays automatically as soon as you reach the level where you could have legendaries slotted.

I have seen this message too, but it was when confirming my skirmish soldier's traits. It scared me at first because I had just added a couple new personal traits, and I thought maybe using more than one caused legendaries to be disabled (though that didn't really make sense). However, I checked and everything seems to still be working, so I think the message is a bug.
