Creeps having superior numbers doesn't help them wipe fraid(s).

Lack of freep focus-fire with their OP DPS does. And that's not just because of ungrouped freeps following the fraid, but the fraid too. Be it inherent reasons and/or lag reasons.

And Jmez, why should it matter where you fight creeps? A well function fraid, even with the ON buff on, can pulverise the average craid.

Sometimes craid leaders decide not to kill fhealers. Or at least if the action is 'fair', that way the rvr battle is prolonged.

And target-forward healing isn't a prob if your fraid is focus-firing through it. That's a fact that's proven everyday, except for Voa-trash raids that can't cope with basic PvP & teamwork needs

Just a clarification of my previous post. This past Friday night after my raid filled up we encountered Yelk at Lug x-roads. Yelk had 12, I had 24. The only kill I remember getting was Slobion, and I had to retreat because we lost at least 10 in getting that kill, and I would have wiped my raid getting maybe one more kill.

When freeps are this OP Jmez you might have to push a keep or fight in cows for it to be an even fight. You have always been the most reserved of the veteran freep leaders (though its kinda hard not to be when Arrik rushes headlong into battle, and Shanehere leads the melee train), but after freeps being so overpowered for so long, creeps are just wary. We've wiped hardcore to fewer freeps so many times that even numbers by themselves don't always mean you're going to get a 'fair' fight. A lot of times I feel like I'm in a knife fight, but the other guy has a gun. If this is all the newer creeps know, can you blame them for not pushing?

Well said Jmez, I completely agree and after being in the raid, seeing the type of stuff evil does to you, I refuse to lead against him and hope he has fun zerging those solos for 2 commendations each.

Cry cry cry...I'll try to break this down:

1. Jmez, you must recall me pushing you open field on at least 6 different occasions a few weeks ago, when we first tried the defiler heal target forwarding. Can't blame me for that, seeing as most minstrels nowdays click on the raid leader and just spam bolster. Fight fire with fire.

2. Running to LC? Was that when you had 8 minstrels? Did you notice that despite the fact you had the tyrant, you still put up an exceptionally good and long fight?


I will not ever run my raid into a fight where we stand absolutely no chance of victory or a remote infamy gain. I will not feed a creep raid into a superior freep raid sitting in open field. Fight us in cows? They attack us too, maybe don't AoE and they won't touch you! I'll gladly fight open field with the new changes and see how it goes, I'm sure the minstrel rezzes going off left and right will make it extra fun. Take a page of freep raid leading from Arrik.

Ok my 2 cents,


Yesterday i fought agints a few raids was fun. Good fight in the cows craid wins i push ec back side and fight till all the remaints of the fraid return i go across ta bridge wait on bubbles/rez's. Next engagement I make a hard push INTO ec fight for a few mints till all the fraid returns bail out the back and again wait on some cd'sat the cows but no fight happened there yet. Then it starts to slooooowwww down were playing patty cake on ta lawn trying to get them away from the bridge casue we all know that creeps on a bridge is a bloody bridge. Stateing that yes im not gonna push and just wipe for lets say 3 kills? So i take the craid flip lc give it some time. Then ooc says theres only 8 at ec now. I go GREAT! i procced to come out of lc woods to a shane raid chillin in the open my eyes lit up with happenes rub my hands togahther and tell my craid to nut up and suck it up this mite get messy casue theres other freeps close. It lasted forever a great open feild fight eneding with the craid winning but the freeps making more points ( whatever makes you happy) I go walking arond ta and see the fraid push east ta door some1 messed up and pulled some trolls needles to say we won that fight. Now imo thats how it should go and i know of many other raid leaders that agree. All in short one sides wipes bad the other should push some npc's ect or if in my case i lost heals push a keep or set the battle to a less of advantage. Im glad im only on in the early hours of the raid leading casue ive seen it a night its justa a gaint lag/zerg ball and no1 enjoys that. Sorry for the wall and text and typeo's lol.


P.S. One thing that does urk me is when i was winning fights I had to chase to ppl running before the fraid was even completly wiped. But i cant blame them for thinking if they can get away to try but hat doesnt mean i agree with it.

His other posts were more of an emotional rant than anything substantive. There was some meat to this post that warranted a better explanation of why this may be the case. I'm sorry Mal, next time when responding I'll respond with quotes so that you can follow along.

Yes, for ALL leaders actions speak louder than words. If a raid leader says they prefer open field fights, but are consistently found hanging out at EC/STAB or sticking near a blue TR, they pretty much destroy their credibility. Most creeps still respect Arrik not because he plays creepside, Yelk, Voa, Malarick, Jmez, Varron, and many other freep raid leaders have done that at one point or another. They do because he brought the fight. If his raid did well one encounter he'd fight the next one in NPCs, or against a raid plus goldtags. If he got steamrolled then yeah, the next fight would inevitably be in his own NPCs or hopefully, against more freeps.

He was willing to push TA, push into 15-20+ creeps with NPCs on us even with only 18 in the raid(and mostly no-names at that). After taking TA with tons of creeps on us, someone spoke up and said we should do lugz now. Skullslicer responded with saying he doesn't want to make the map blue and he'd rather camp them at the rez for more renown. Laterz

The fighting is dynamic if you allow it. If you sit in one place everyone will converge on your location. If you stay mobile, when you encounter the other raid it usually won't have more than 3-5 goldtags unless you end up fighting near highly trafficked areas. I think this is the problem that many freep leaders have been having recently. Large numbers of ungrouped creeps at TR road, STAB/TA or OC. The freep raid engages, and basically farms for 10 minutes plus, the creep raid then comes in and cleans house. Freeps have been getting more renown lately because of this phenomenon, but easily get discouraged, and end up hugging NPCs until the creep raid leaves the area or more freeps log on and can push them out.

My advice to freep leaders is DO NOT STAY IN ONE PLACE TOO LONG. I learned this back when I was in the secondary freep raid trying to keep up with Abraa and the main freep raid as he moved throughout the center of the map and I use it when I lead raids.

The best defense is usually good offense.
- Voa does this by hiding, waiting for the creep raid to engage the other freep raid and flanking.
- Yelk does this by stacking heals and is the exception.
- Arrik does this by stacking DPS and being aggressive.
- Jmez used to do this by being more cautious, and engaging more on his terms. I haven't really had a nice RvR fight with him recently though, they've all been near keeps for some reason, creep or freep controlled.
- Shanehere pretty much does what Arrik does, just differently, if that makes any sense.

If you would like to lead a freep raid, whether you're as Malarick calls it "One of the Better Freeps" that feels like its time to step up, or just someone who would like the challenge, I highly suggest talking to one of the people I've listed, though Arrik doesn't play much freepside anymore and most people who PvP'd regularly before Voa transferred don't like his tactics due to the effect it has on the Meta-PvP as described in my earlier post. That's also why he's been kicked from a few of the kins he joined and had to start his own kin, Leithiani.

I'd also recommend checking out http://dailystats.theblackappendage.com/, lots of great information and a way to see how well you did the day before. For example, say there were two freep groups out last night for 3 hours. Raid leader A got 6k renown, raid leader B got 10k renown. If you start to notice this isn't just a 'once in a while' thing, but a trend, you may want to try joining their raids or talking to them about their tactics and approaches, and trying to emulate some of their qualities.

For example yesterday, the top 15 creeps totaled 118,117 infamy, averaging 7874 infamy each.
The top 15 freeps earned 182,312 renown, averaging 12154 renown each.

Look at the top earners, see what they're doing 'right', and try to learn from their successes.

A lot of freeps have this problem Mal, not just you. My recommendation to any freep who is thinking about starting a raid, but unsure whether they're fighting a warg pack, and half a creep raid, or just a bunch of ungrouped creeps is look at their buffs. If you see that charging reavers have aura of command, imposing presence and are all on the same target, and when the wargs pick off the level 60 hunter in the back you see five rows of rallying howl, then yes, there's a warg pack and the creeps are grouped, otherwise, they are not. The freeps getting targeted are probably ones with A) low morale, B) low mitigations, C) NPCs on them, or D) overextended / out of healing range.

If you are losing to a mob of ungrouped creeps then either raid up, or move to another part of the map, away from the mob, not everyone is in a tribe, or vent, or has maps to map in on you. Horses are faster than creeps' March or Mobilise. You have the whole map, don't think that just because there's 30 creeps at TA front door that's where ALL the creeps are.

Lol, u think I care about points? Here's some news for ya ... u were a better leader then than now. Yea we pushed a red LC .... had 3-4 good fights, but ya know .... no one feels like pushing a red keep EVERYYTIME just to fight creeps. After those fights half the raid left cause they didnt feel like dealin wit that ####. I get ppl tell me they aint even comin out if u leadin (thse are vet freeps too). How long to u expect a fraid to continously push TA tyrant room as well w/ a tyrant that has like 12 buffs on it? I've had to do that repeadily too.

Yea freeps are ahead of creeps now, and no 1 craid shouldnt wipe 1 fraid .... all I know i'd personally like (and maybe this is just me) is for at least 1 fight somewhere open. Then if one side dies horribly we'll move it to a keep or npcs or somewhere more advantageous to the losing side. How do you know u gonna wipe if you dont even try?

My reply here is to UnitedStates and him alone....I can see you refuse to lead but your pathetic Gtagging a 24 man raid with a 4 or 5 man group against a creep raid that had 20-24. Arrik didnt back down, Arrik didnt make the freepraid push red keeps..he fought the freepraid plus your Gtag group in the open, with less then you have and we lost every fight, but we kept bringing it....37 freeps on an r9 track and we still fought open field at the x roads........Oh wait today was against Arrik who you compare yourself to not Evil.....................So pls QQ more and grow a set.

I just have to say tonights rvr brought back fun memories, push push push push 40+ creeps. Take defensive stand after being over agressive all night creeps log in one big bam. I'm sure we made easily 4x the points not cause of the amount of kills but the factor of 2 seperate groups and the gt's so its all good i can go barter my 9th commendation piece :P WTB Mere for more challenging rvr without the witch king lag fest.

Sorry yelk we never broke 30 last night and Almost no GT at all. You wiped cause you could not target foward heal through multiple targets. And remember its the Freeps that bring the lag with all the Calc thanks for clearing that up.

Maybe you should tell the freeps who zerged all afternoon vs solos yesterday. Oh no you wont do that will you? So i make a 23 man ba raid and wipe ALL the freeps, and they log off ASAP.

If I thought I wouldnt break something i'll try lol. I kept goin back to lugs cause I wanted u guys to be in there already ... like earlier in LC. That was prolly the funnest fight of the day, when we bum rushed that for beatles raid then the 2nd craid came in towards the end.

I was tryin to think where u guys woulda been waitin for us to make a push. Unfortunatly my braid isn't workin so well today (damn u green alcohol!)

If you honestly believe every fight had a maximum of 30 creeps there is nothing I can do to convince you otherwise, so I won't.

Yeah i had to end up going, that was just my raid at the lc fight and there came mere in at the end with what he had. Was a tuff and intense fight sorry i hugged it, after that brawl in oc i said to the craid guys we will start slow we can flip lc take a bio and wait we wipe hard here ill ninja a bigger keep and try again. But indeed was a blast them minnie rezes hurt! ./salute
