ANV presents: A PvP video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9FWQc5W1CY
Some clips of ANV small groups (2-4 man) over the last 3 or 4 days. The video is a bit long but we believe the action makes up for it. Hopefully people will see that small group PvP is viable and see what freep groups should be capable of doing.

Thanks for posting the video, it has opened my eyes to the plight of the free peoples and just how underpowered they are in the 'moors.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Lol at the BA slayer t2.
For all the talk of freeps being op I sure saw a lot of really bad focus fire and target selection as well as creeps spending a lot of time running and being attacked in the back. Sure freeps may be better off than you but letting them outplay you doesn't help.
Man that music selection made me think of middle school. I feel like just leaving it playing in the background for the soundtrack :PLast edited by cmal; Mar 11 2012 at 06:07 PM.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
I really enjoyed this video. You are one of the most fearsome melee DPS out there.
- You have a weird PoV when you play, are you even max zoomed out? Do you call out targets because it looks like you don't do much panning aside from tab tagetting/assist the next creep.
- Good music selection
- How come you didn't include those group fights in ROP?
- How does it feel to have 2 captains giving you God mode Shield of Dunedain on 5 minute cooldowns?
Busting your balls aside despite playing freep in a state of the game where they are far superior in just about anything you are one of the best champions out there in group fights. I'd say you and Naegling are the most effective Champions in the moors. But let's not kid ourselves (no pun intended), in combat rezzes, 55%+ mitigations, on the move healing, god mode shields, group sprint, 45s sprint, 2 different bubbles, man heal, 5 min 3k morale heal, 2k+ DPS does not exactly make champion/captain duo/trio on par with anything creep has.Last edited by Commish; Mar 11 2012 at 06:13 PM.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. <Generally OP

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Really good video, but I could not play with that camera angle. You guys did own the PK in it, but most of the fights you were fighting solos<meaning creeps that were not grouped> @ the rezz. For the OP it was a 3vs3 with a CG on them and at the end of the fight most of what I saw was all the NPC in there. Don't get me wrong most of ANV are some of the most skilled players on E, but to be fair you also had a great facerolling group. Would like to see the next video of you guys face rolling big groups or raids with a larger fellows, not solos. Thanks for the video man!!

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Nice video guys,
Would love to see you taking on a group of 3-4 ranked creeps (with the equivalent healing of 2 cappies, ie 2WL or WL + defiler). I feel the low ranked creeps actually helped you more than if there were just the ranked creeps as with champ + cappy DPS and creep keyboard turning they just feed 4k in heals from 2x RC every 8s. Thats up to the creeps to form up and fight you though.
Seemed over the last couple of days it was either you farming the solo's or the zerg showing up to wipe you. Some balance between the two would of been nice.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
I know, its why I said it was up to the creeps

Its not just small groups though, its small groups with a very specific make up to take down that group
heavy heals + heavy DPS. The joys of captains being crazily powerful right now, and about to become more powerful from tomorrow.
I need one more rank and I'll be a real reaver and then I can fight properly (thrash + mutilation = real reaver).Votan | Xeyila | Grisburnakh

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Farming has lost its meaning now, it's thrown aroud so much on both sides. I just use the term when I feel theres minimal chance of a group dying in the situation they're in. It'd probably be more correct to say the lowbies were feeding you to obesity rather than farming I guess.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
A group of 3 well played ranked creeps would probably beat our duo more often than not as long as the group's build isn't too bad. I would imagine 4-5 creeps would similarly give us trouble or at least fight us to a stalemate with our 2 capts/1 champ group, although I can't say for sure as we've only run that group 2-3 times. Unfortunately, there are a rather limited number of well played ranked creeps, a considerable number of them only solo or duo, and some of the creeps that would give us trouble are played by us.
And as Hero said, the same thing can be done creepside - a small group continuously farming a larger group, albeit perhaps not to the same extent. It's just a matter of hoping that the other side plays poorly enough and that their numbers don't get too overwhelming.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Kid and I usually won't be able to beat a creep group of 5-6 if it's too BA heavy. Really, that's usually what dictates the outcome most of the time; granted, MT at least must be used. The other important factor is the amount of people that can keep up with the Captain's kiting. As you may imagine most key turners aren't much of a threat if the Captain knows how to sharp turn. And of course, you do not go for the Champ.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Nice video! A bit too long but some clips are nice to watch!
Ignoring the fact that freeps are horribly OP, you play your champ very well, swapping weapons in mid-combat, etc. Could you tell me how you keybind/play? Started playing freep lately and the increased ammount of buttons made my old setup useless, so I'd love to get some tips.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
I'm sure he can provide a better explanation but from what I can glean here he swaps his 1H weapons with shift keys + A/D and he has his 2Her bound to a mouse button.
Champs have a tonne of skills both rotational and situational which are nice to have on keybinds and expanding to every key within 100 miles of WASD + shift/cntrl/alt (also on 1-6/7) variables is quite useful. If you have the resolution on max and full screen the video you can see all his binds. You can also use a gamer mouse to bind most of your skills to.

Re: ANV presents: A PvP video
Not so much skill as willingness to suffer.
Will be interesting to see how update 6 plays out for wargs individually, and both sides as a whole. I'm not so optimistic, but only because I have learned to set my expectations pretty low with Turbine updates.
Cheers all
