    Looking For - Kinship

Character Names: Undecided - Waiting on making a 'main' character until I have a kinship where I know what my role will be.
    Age: 23
    Server: Arkenstone
    Location: UK

Playstyle: Group Instancing - Doesn't have to be raiding, but I like to PvE as part of an organised group.
MMORPG's I've Played: DAoC, WoW, WAR, Planetside, WW2:Online, Rift, SW:TOR
What kind of kinship am I looking for: A mature and flexible kinship which either raids or does lots of instance running, whether skirmishes or dungeons. I generally prefer to play as a support or a Tank, typically in my two most recent MMO's I played a Resto/Elemental hybrid Shaman (WoW), a Juggernaut specced Sith Warrior (SW:TOR) and a Medicine/Lethality specced Imperial Agent (SW:TOR). I believe an equivalent here would be a Captain and a Guardian? Currently in the process of trying out half a dozen characters. Generally I like to be able to do some off healing and some dps, while flitting around the group making sure things are proceeding along comfortably.
Relevant personal info: I work nights, thursday-sunday as a night watchman. This carries over onto my days off where my usual play time is between 10pm-6am UK time, I believe that's 5pm-1am EST? I've written for a few games based websites in the past, including TankTelara and ForceJunkies, and generally hold myself to a very high standard of gameplay. I've been a raid leader in both WoW and TOR, including being in a world top 100 guild during the original Naxx 60 days of WoW (Final Equilibrium on Aggramar, much love to my old home). I'm now settling down with much less game time however, with my first child on the way and getting married a week today, my game time is at a premium where I wish to sit and actually play the game, rather than be worrying about raiding at such a high end level.
    Class trade skills: N/A
    Account status: FTP

I hope someone out there considers me for a kinship, I love Tolkiens works, and for some reason i've only just started this game. Means I have a whole lot ahead of me to look forward to

    Hey Elicas!

Welcome to LotRO and to Arkenstone. I'm not sure where it is ranked, in terms of server population, but I have been on it for nearly 3 years and have meet some really great people.

I fear that my post will not be overly helpful; only because I don't think that our kinship will fit your needs. We are an incredibly small kinship that exists basically as a means to connect socially. We do run content together and we do have dedicated kinship nights. However, we typically have around 5/6 online when I log on, which is usually around 5.30 AM GMT Mon-FRI and random times on the weekend - so I don't know if that suits your gaming needs (I am in GMT+1).

My main intention for responding is to suggest the Lore-Master class. They have been re-worked over the last year and are a solid class to play. Their class trait lines have been re-spec'ed so that spot healing can be done very effectively and they can do respectable DPS. They have some nice buffs and are debuff specialists. An overall solid class for anyone who likes to work in the background of a party and keep an instance running smoothly. As far as race goes, I think Elf has an advantage over Race of Man because of the Fate boost and the Racial port to Rivendell.

Well that's all I have. Again, welcome to the game. At the moment, I am running my LM, Erintiel, and my Cappy, Leovigild, the most. Feel free to add them to your friends list and hit me with a tell any time you see me logged on. I'd be happy to chat or even run some content. I have a few lowbie projects that should work.

Arkenstone: Theudis, Hunter / Fingolma, Warden / Erintiel, LM / Leovigild, Captain / Phelonious Monk, Burglar / Tinfang Warble, Guardian.

I am just poping in to give my advice. Don't wait until you find a kin to find a toon to level. If your kin will only take certain classes it is not going to be a fun kin. Experiment with different toons. I started LM, hated it, next was champ loved it enough to take to 75, started a mini somewhere in there and it is still 38. Next to 75 was a rk. I had a captain that I was only going to have as a farmer, started playing it and took it to 75. So what your kin may want is not really what you may want.

I thank you both for the words of advice, Eliceth the LM elf maiden is born

Edit: As you say, worth checking the classes before signing on for something. I just don't like the LM for some reason. Going to have a look at a support captain next.
