Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
Hello! I was talking to a burglar today who said he was able to get 1800 sustained dps on the dummies in Galtrev. That seems really high to me, so I thought I'd check here and see what other burglars have been getting. There was a similar comparison thread on the hunter forums a while back and the dps ranges were from ~1450-1750 for well-geared hunters (aka, ToO sets, good jewellery, first or second ages), which is why that 1800 number makes me a both nervous and interested lol (My main is a hunter, and I personally did ~1500 on a 5min parse).
By sustained dps I mean over 3min or so. If anyone can post images of dps parses they've done please do, I'd love to see em! And of course, they should only include any self-buffs; not cappy buffs and the like.Last edited by Sephollos; Mar 08 2012 at 12:07 AM.

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
1800 right now is not obtainable buy a burg in a proloned solo fight.
Plain BS
with a little magic and 3 sets of armor come monday burgs may be t1 single target DPS. If that is the case you will never see me here posting about DPS till the facts on the ground change again

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. <Generally OP

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
if he can do 1800 dps for 1min plus i am willing to carry his sandles and call him master till he shows me the way.
think about it how many skills do you get off in a second?
then think about what you crit for.
then what your non crit attacks are.
you need 50-60%+ crit rate to do 1800dpsLast edited by ifreborn1; Mar 08 2012 at 03:56 AM.

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
Maybe just thinking like a dummy here,
I'm not very knowledgeable about Burglars...
But don't they get a bonus to their Critchance on first strike,
or from behind? If you take into account the dummies reset
every 15 sec, burglars get said bonus every 15 secs all over again.
This WILL boost their dps, though in a kinda unfair way...
Just thinkin...

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
On the Galtrev Training Dummy, about 1100 DPS over a minute - got sick of RW/CD/DOTs getting wiped every 15 seconds. I'll run Combat Analysis next time I take a run at Undurz or an Outpost Tyrant/Nan Curunir War-Troll. I did a couple of nights grinding the L74-75 Spiders between LC and HH in the Moors a while back, most fights were about 11 seconds. Normally putting out around 1300 DPS, maybe hitting 1500-1600 with a good run of devs.
1800 DPS sustained - screenshots or it didn't happen. Solo and unbuffed, unless he had a LM battery, he wouldn't be able to hold up 1800 long enough to call it sustained before he ran out of power.

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
My burg usually ends up with 1,9k-2k after a minute, depending on critluck.
I only had time for 3 parses right now, thats one of them:

only 23% crit in that parse, should be more with improved counterdefense, 2k dps are easily possible with a bit more luck.
After the minute the dps slightly drops to 1800-1900 and thats what you can substain if you have powersupply.
I agree on the power issues, but in raid we can do max damage all the time, since the fights are short. If you do Saruman T2 you have to use potions on cooldown to help out your lm, but it's still nessesary to go allout the whole fight.
PS: Too bad i almost never wear sandals, but Ifreborn, guess why i always told ya that burg damage is pretty good?

Glad I didn't call it outright impossible
Mind posting gear/traits as well? I know I'm missing some things that'd help with DPS, keen to know if I've missed anything.

i'll write you a pm tomorrow, 5red/2 yellow, ~29k offence, gotta study for an exam tomorrow.. damn quantum mechanics, way to complicated for lazy people like me

@ melma, nah, thats an older one, parsed 3 times today, didn't want to post one with ready and able used, although it was only used to vanish out of the fight and not for damage, i used exactly the same things, but in the new one you can't discuss if i used to many cds or whatever since you see all cds :PLast edited by sdf-blarelius; Mar 08 2012 at 06:56 AM.

Would love to see the rotation/gear as well. I'm apparently way under-powered (even though I've theory-crafted the heck out of my burg)

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
I'd love to hear about your skill rotations. I consider myself a half-way decent burg, and in my agi-stacking/dps build, have 2119 agi, a first age dagger, and 29,981 physical mastery unbuffed, with ~21.5% crit chance. And even still, once reveal weakness falls off the training dummy, my dps falls to the ~1600's, 1700 if I get lucky with crits.
So, lets hear about skill rotations to achieve that epic 2K dps!
Cheers

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
Cracked 1900 once with hope, dp damage, and agi food. Un-buffed I couldn't get out of the 1800's. My training dummy build could use some work though :P (agi in the 1900's) but I do have a 1st ager.has anyone on a us server posted above 1600ish? i hear you can mess with your internet and make it send packets without waiting for the return ping. do you germans do this?

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
It's not a training dummy. And this picture is in no way comparable to a training dummy. It bears almost no relation whatsover to this post concerning training dummy dps.
But I'm going to post it anyway.

4 burglars, 1 lm, 1 hunter, 2 captain, 2 minstrels, 1 guard, and 1 warden in T2C Acid boss in ToO. No call to greatness, I did have blade-brother, and oathbreakers was up for twenty seconds in total during the fight. The last oathbreaker debuff was when I hit the 11.9k max damage hit (from surprise strike) in the image above.
My burglar isn't even built all that well. More is certainly possible.
Why is he posting this...? Only to further demonstrate that burglars are more than capable in a single target DPS role.Last edited by ofMiceandHobbits; Mar 08 2012 at 07:06 PM.

http://www.bilder-space.de/show_img_....jpg&size=view
did this one a few mins ago.. could do better with location is everything and i m still missing a little bit dmg equip and the OD Sword, just 26k physical mastery with the 3% buffs from destiny points and a role of battle. Furthermore i think my rotation isnt perfect atm, reset of the dummy is really annoying.
Nice job Kalyna,Melmadoc and Blarelius
Will try to reach 2k dps with a complete equipment.

its easier for me to just show it:

http://s14.directupload.net/images/120309/mdaadr6c.jpg
far from perfect and i really fucd up at the end which becomes painfully obvious in slowmotion.
srsly? sure, there are some dirty tricks you could use. but you dont need those to reach a mere 2k dps

I see you're using Addle. Is that to stop another action from finishing up and allow you to hit another dps skill faster?

Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
there is no easy answer to this. obviously you have to adept to the way the dummies behave (the reset can be really tricky). in a different context i would throw CA in there and do several other things differently.
to be honest im not set on a 'fixed' rotation that im trying to recreate every single time. i just use combinations of skills that seem to go well together.

not on a dummy, but still nice imo, when i think of the screens of most hunters in raid progression with 1,7k-1,8k

Re: AW: Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
How is that?
Seriously, I'm trying to figure it out. Is it that it stops the visual effect of a skill without stopping the damage, so that you can fire off another skill more quickly? And, if so, which skill do you use it on? Is there a skill for which it's more important? (I'm thinking the QK skill might be a big one since it takes forever to complete)

Re: AW: Re: Dummy DPS parses: How much do you do?
Addle just shuts down the animation immediatly, means you can spam another skill instantly. It's especially useful for flashing blades, since you dont have to wait ~2 seconds, but can press flashing blades -> addle -> Surprisestrike, feint attack or cunning attack. That makes a huge increase in dps.
For ~ 1 1/2 years there was an addle bug that allowed you to spam skills and stop any animations by pressing addle while it's on cooldown. After RoI it was possible to abuse it for trick-spamming which led to a pretty fast bugfix.

The parses are dependent on a crit from SS. Don't crit SS as often and the parse numbers come down.
