My LOTRO band just finished our first tour! We made a short video to showcase some of our tunes put to some fraps and screenshots we grabbed along the way. This recap of set 1 is featured on our youtube page...
We edit midi files of popular songs to create 2min versions of them suitable for our instrumentation. Once we have about 20min worth of material we hit the road from our home in the Shire and start a journey toward Bree, performing a few stops along the way.
We're usually active between 10-11pm eastern each Wednesday, and next week we're kicking off the set 2 tour with a show at the Ivy Bush in Hobbiton. Thanks for looking and maybe we'll see you on the road!
I will try and make it tonight to see the show... any chance of some acoustic Dead making it into the rotation? Friend of the Devil, Dire Wolf.. heck, anything off Workingman's Dead would be sweet!

There needs to be Creep bands too, wouldnt you agree Thrag? Uruks playing guitar, spiders playing the drums, wargs with banjos ....
Btw, there is a Minstrel on Brandy named Thragg ; )

The name itself is OP... I can only imagine it on a Battle Mage
Had a quick chat w/ someone from Brandy the other day on Bullroarer and we briefly discussed your transfer to greener PvP pastures.
We were trying to figure out the Creeps Meneldor name that was instrumental in your departure... I thought it might be Piercer but he/she wasn't sure.
Back on topic...
I might be late to tonight's festivities, I keep trying to leave the Ettenmoors but the meanie elitist rangers who guard Glan Vraig are insistent on keeping me from gaining safe passage =(
Perhaps a special benefit show can be arranged on the steps of GV for the poor, downtrodden Creeps who are unable to take part in the various splendors of Middle Earth?
p.s... what you're doing really is awesome so PLEASE keep it up!!
Garcia also covered some excellent traditional songs w/ David Grisman on Mandolin that might be even more appropriate for the Middle Earth setting... Off to Sea Once More, Handsome Cabin Boy, ect... though, I doubt many of the inhabitants would recognize these songs.
Lol, a creep band would be awesome! Especially if they played all manner of 'creepy' music : )
On that note, I have been earmarking holiday oriented songs I come across too. So if we're still turning out new songs come Halloween or Xams this year, we might have a special holiday set to perform ourselves.
To clarify from my original post, we won't be at the Ivy Bush until next Wednesday, so that would be the 14th. We are getting together tonight as usual, but we'll just be in our neighborhood giving this new set our first in-game run-through to make sure there aren't any bugs. Dress rehearsal lol : D
Edit: And thanks for the song ideas^^ We're working on set 3 material now and I will specifically look into finding some Dead tunes; that's a great suggestion!
Having left off in Bree this week, we've decide to stick around for an encore performance of our set 1 material. So this coming Wednesday, May 23rd, we'll be setting up in front of The Prancing Pony to give it another run. The show will start shortly after 10pm Eastern US time and our sets run about 20 minutes. And if anyone has a request for specific set 2 songs, we'll happy to play those too!
Thanks for looking and maybe we'll see you this Wednesday in Bree^^
Reuben & Cherise! I'll be the elf spinner in the front row if the Dead come to ME. hehe
I'd have to agree with Thragg, there is a lot of Garcia music that would fit in well here. Of Monsters & Men would be great too, not sure how well it would translate to ABC files though, but I'd bet there would be an opportunity to dust off those bagpipes.
Glad you are doing this on Meneldor
PS: How are the populs, Ridd?
