    Video: Gambler PvMP

EDIT: Normal speed video on page 3

I made a short video of some nice 1v1 I had earlier today. No KO, TaG or morale pots were used!

Yes folks, gambler is a viable traitline

Nice one man.. Warleaders running like Schoolgirls. I've been loving Gambler lately, and the reports I've heard from people on Bullroarer say the PvMP Gambler set is nice and OP.

Everborn finding excuses as to why this doesn't end the debate on Burglars in the Moors in 5..

    Re: Video: Gambler PvMP

The issues with gambler trait line that I have are...

    1. Kills are slower, I find if you don't kill someone fast they get backup quite a lot of the time (especially when near NPCs/GYs
    2. If a 1min brand is used the gambler trait line is rendered almost useless as you cannot use the disabling gambles.
    3. Your video shows (all but 1) 1v1's where the unwritten rules state no stun pots, brands, morale/power potions and no escape skills, it took you a lot of time to kill the warleader in the first scene due to less damage from -QK traits and if in 'open world pvmp' you'd run the risk of been kited into npcs or backup called for.

I don't want to disrespect you, you are a high rank so you obviously know your stuff in PvMP and it's nice that you don't stack morale like 90% of burglars currently at PvMP. But for a solo burg that does not frequent 1v1 areas the build has some major flaws.

Nice video though, gives another perspective to playing the Burglar.

    Re: Video: Gambler PvMP

I can manage the 1 min brands no problem, just need to drink some second cup coffee and I still win those fights no problem. damaging and debuffing gambles still work fine

As for the WL well it doesn't usualy take me that much time to kill one. Took a while because he slow-kited me. If he drags me into the NPCs I just TaG and problem is solved.

Gambler gives more survivability than QK with the debuff gamble and by stoping the enemy more often so you take less damage. It's just a different approach and I dont's see this as a flaw, especialy when you are facing more than 1 enemy. Kills are slower on ranked/p2w creeps only, rest dies pretty fast. Sometimes slightly slower fights are just more fun to me, but I understand how you can see this as a flaw.

Point taken, it obviously works for you.

I just find myself being constantly tracked and searched for so I like to get my kill and get out.

Here I made a short video for those who want to see my setup of traits and gear. It's easier than listing everything

The two MM traits can be switched. I usualy go with Disabling Attack / Appraising Eye in a 1v1 circle and Opportunist / Trickster the rest of the time. Trickster is very useful to stun and apply a bleed on 3 creeps at the same time!

I also have a swap bag for healing. For that you need the legacies "Healing - Mischievous Glee" and "Pulse Modifier for Glee" and maximise the incoming healing and tactical mastery on your tool. It DOUBLES the heal effect of Mischievelous Glee!

    Re: Video: Gambler PvMP

Interesting vids - always nice to watch how different burglars play the class.
Not a fan of the gambler line myself but you clearly seem to make it work for you.

    Few things about the vid:
As it's very fast it's a bit tricky to see everything that goes on but I assume that's deliberate.
Important part: it seems you had the ON buff active during all your spars - doesn't that still give -14% inc damage? Or did they change that with U5? Obviously that makes some difference, but nice nevertheless.

As for your gear: nice stuff, though a bit too high focus on damage for my liking. I prefer a more balanced build giving a bit more survivability but each to his own. 6,6k morale is a bit low imo.
As for stealth: do you always run with just the +2 stealth you get from footpad? Seems very low to me. I used to be on +12 back at 65 with the helegrod smurf outfit and am still not happy with my current +7 as wargs often spot me without me spotting them (still missing the cloak from t2 shadow ofc).
Interesting choice of runes - again all out focus on damage. Might be better off with the -attack duration ones for overall damage. Personally I use the old tier 9 crag ones with morale and crit defense on them. If I didn't have those I would be using the 'true' ones with morale power and icmr/icpr.

I assume our differences in gear has to do with playstyle though. I tend to hug like mad at times so obviously I pick my gear to support that style - in other words your gear wouldn't work well for me as I'll imagine my gear wouldn't work well for you either. The beauty of diversity

    Thanks for sharing mate.

    Re: Video: Gambler PvMP

On brandywine the ON buff is pretty much permanant :P But yeah it sure helps.

For survivability 6.6k (or 6.7k with the hope horn) is enough for me. A gambler tend to take less damage than a QK during a fight due to the debuffing gamble and number of stuns/mezz. Sometimes I switch my agi ring for the other moors set ring and it gives me +2% tactical mitigation and about +170 morale. The reason why I stack physical mastery is to have more powerfull damaging gamble bleed.

For stealth, I don't even use footpad. I have a cloak/jewell/tool that i can swap for more stealth level when needed (like when I want to sneak into a keep) but most of the time I just run around with none of that. Sure I get detected by wargs but it doesn't realy matter to me since they track me all the time anyway and BA can still detect you no matter how much stealth you have.

As for Attack Duration I had those legacies before but it didn't seem to make THAT much a difference so I prefer +1700 physical mastery and +50 fate (for crits). I might reequip the -attack duration again in U6 for the +evade that will help with the gambler set bonus.

Thanks for the comments and sorry for the headaches with the video, I know it's a lil' bit to fast but I wanted to put more than just 2-3 fights for the duration of the song

    With normal tools:
620 direct heal and 6 pulses of 33 for a total of 818

    With swap tools:
920 direct heal and 15 pulses of 49 for a total of 1654
(pulses would be 51 but since I switch back to my normal tools after I use Glee they are at 49)

So it's a little more than twice the total healing. Realy worths it!

    Easy mode burgs... probably not.

But there are/were some really good Burgs on Menel. that could easily down three (low to medium ranked) Wargs without blowing their CD's... but at least they ACKNOWLEDGE it and adjust their playstyle to make 1v1's somewhat fun.

I could camp GV all day and just pick off low ranked noobs but where's the fun in that? I'm in no hurry to rank.. i'm just looking for good fights and 90% of the time any half decent Burg will usually offer that.

But once they start blowing CD's against a single Warg I just HiPS and say... good day.

Probably tougher on a big server like BW to have those types of relationships.. but friendship (or at the very least, respect) can exist between Warg and Burg.

Nothing beats getting rolfstomped by a Burg pack when i'm solo... just so I can say it takes 5 or 6 Burgs to bring me down

UM we have gone through this. Non ranked creeps are pleasure bots for freeps. a good champ could take down a raid uf unskilled unraned wargs. same with a mini. and almost any freep.

even i can take down 3-6 unranked wargs.

But, you ranked, skill buying wargs will be easy mode u6.

Was wondering how many posts it would take before some creeps with agitated netherregions showed up.

Anyway, I was wondering how well Gamblers did in Isengard and your videos definitely answered my question. I think with Audacity Gamblers will also be even more effective with the increase in survivability. And I don't think it will be possible to devour a ranked creep before Twist wears off with Audacity changes, either. Think I'll finally give Gambler a shot. If anything, it looks like lots of fun. Thanks for the feedback!

Going by my results in solo'ing bosses, I'd have to say that it's a more viable PvE solo'ing stance than QK, even with minor DPS reduction. Pale's already showed that it does quite nicely in the Moors.

Do you know who my warg is?

    and you wont!

    Qk gives 2.5% damage solo
    Gambler gives 5% evade.

what stance do you think is better?

Would just like to ask, how do you prioritize using a damaging, debuffing, or disabling gamble? And the disabling gamble breaks on damage, doesn't it?

    Re: Video: Gambler PvMP

On WL, Defilers, BA, Weavers and low ranks I prioritize damaging gamble.

Against melee creeps (Wargs and Reavers), the debuffing gamble is actualy more effective than a damaging gamble in term of outgoing damage VS incoming damage. For the duration of the debuff the outgoing damage is way superior to the incoming damage and that's where a fight can easily turn in your favor.

As for disabling gambles I use them as often as I can! I wouldnt say it "breaks" damage because you have to see those mezz as if you stopped the fight for the creep for a few seconds. While he's mezzed you can go behind him and have a short dps burst. In my video you can see in my fight against Beatlejuice that I actualy start from stealth with a provoke disabling gamble that I reinforce later with gambler strike, this ends up being my shortest fight of all!

    So for a short answer:
Medium/High rank Wargs & Reavers: Disabling > Debuffing > Damaging
Everything else: Disabling > Damaging > Debuffing

do you think longer fights will hurt your ability to debuff with gambles?
