Re: Sapience- Thank you
I'd like to add my thanks too. As someone who lurks on the forums everyday...particularly the Dev Tracker, in the last several months I've see a big increase in the amount of "Blue" posts. Not just brief one-liners but many lengthy and informative answers and clarifications. Well Done! It is much appreciated.

Re: Sapience- Thank you
Yup. Adding a hearty thank you too to all of the community team here.
It's a tough and often thankless job requiring a thick skin and a lot of dedication. Sure, just about anyone could do the job with a bit of training, but it takes a special breed to do it well, and this team is one of the best. Kudos to you all.

Re : Re: Sapience- Thank you
Ahahah I like it

Yes thanks a lot for the efforts from all the Dev.
You said communication is important, it's more than true.
It would be nice to say a few words about the big troubles around who have not at all any attention : French and German translation and MyLotro not working in Europe. Please.

Re: Re : Re: Sapience- Thank you
MyLOTRO works for all servers, though some individual players are experiencing issues. Europe isn't blocked from using it, nor are Europeans the only players reporting issues. I don't have any kind of ETA for fixes or changes, but it's not being ignored.
As for translations, we have in house staff working on improving translations on a daily basis. If the French and German players would please file bug reports on specific translation issues it would be a great help! In fact, I had a conversation this morning with our German translator and that was one of the comments that was made to me.Rick Heaton, Community Manager, The Lord of the Rings Online.

i would be happy to have acces to my own blog, and the settings to it.
also to be able to see other persons blogs without the need of a second browser where i'm not logged in to the forums to be able to read the blocks.
my character settings would be fine as well jeah.
but the first two thing are not funny. espically if a dev starts to post the changes for an class in his blog. (nothing against the posting - thanks for that!, but currently its not the best idea to do it in a blog till the stuff gets fixed
)

Your boss sounds like a demotivational jerk then. My bosses (I work in a doctors' office) thank me all of the time for doing a great job.
You actually sound a lot like my dad (who I haven't spoken to in 10 years) who used to leave all of his trash on the McDonald's tables (a few feet away from the trash bins) because it "wasn't his job" to clean up.Ayrolen-Anikosi-Anfribur-Ametrine-Amari-Ayaneth-Asparagus-Anayalos-Alyradal-Aloe-Asiago-Altanoin

As a matter of fact, yes. So does everyone else who has ever looked at the world from the other side of that counter, because we all know what it's like. The CM's here might look at us through a computer screen rather than over a counter, but decent manners are decent manners.

Re: Sapience- Thank you
Add my thanks to the community team and the devs. It's a hard job and I know it can feel like the only comments are negative ones trashing them. You guys do a great job, and it is a great game. And this update coming up looks fantastic, especially in addressing a lot of the things that players have been talking/ complaining about. Well done. You all deserve a batch of home baked chocolate chip cookies with a side of bacon!

Oh, and in regards to the other conversation- I do my best to thank people around me all the time, even if it's for "just doing their jobs." I know how it motivates me to do a better job when someone thanks me, as well as the smile it puts on my face. Why shouldn't I share that pleasure with others- especially those that I have an idea of the kind of junk they put up with. And you'll be surprised how much better you'll feel about yourself as well when you thank others. You might want to try it sometime instead of being so grouchy.New forums are coming!! Hey, Sapience, who comes up with lottery names? Lottery of exploding flamy things is the most epic lottery name I have seen. I got a good laugh from it and won 4 Lotteries of exploding flamy things. We need more lottery names like it.

Re: Sapience- Thank you
I just started playing this game I think about 8 months ago, and in that time it has become my favorite game of all time. I am stunned by how well designed the content and landscape is, as well as the intricacy of the storyline and quests. Sometimes I see people ranting and raving on the forums about how "evil" the designers are, but I always think, do you really expect everything to be perfect? Why don't you log in, look around you, and then take a second to realize all the GOOD in the game instead of the little bit of bad that there may be. Thanks to all of the designer team for making this game possible, and for making the most realistic representation of Middle Earth outside the pages of Tolkien's Masterpieces!

Thanks for the answer !
Mylotro is working, part of it, or for a part of us. All my kinship is not on MyLotro, no one have access to their characters
A lot of the french players have the same problem, and german too I can imagine.
Since how long ?
It's good to know that you are considering some improvements for the translation in German and French, it's all broken
Thanks in advance for any improvement !
Have some fun with your slaping fish on the translators

One more thing. Someone up there go find Orion and shake his hand. Tell him Krackus (warden of brandywine) thanks him for his work on the class for update 6! Its shaping up to be a real tank again! He deserves a special thanks from me for making my favorite class a valid class again.

All of you guys are doing a great job! The new areas are beautiful! The new gear is incredible! The new epic quests are interesting! Im happy. This day on Bullroarer has been a good day.

Re: Re : Re: Sapience- Thank you
Thanks for this statement.
I thought this would never happen and - you've to accept it - it's a little too late for a community officer.
I think the page (weapon tooltips, widgets) doesn't work for all german/french players otherwise it would be great if someone can explain me, why it should work for some players and for some not. If you change the language to "en_US" most of the bugs are gone.
The next problem: Translation. Please don't tell us to file a bug report because many reports were created and nothing changed in the last months/years - wait, let me clarify it. A few bugs were fixed, but A LOT of new bugs came up - even at places were everything worked. Why?
Is it possible to get in contact with the translator to help her/him? I'm really serious about it even if I think that it's rather a problem of the game which grabs the wrong strings than a buggy translation.
I'm working on the standard skin to fix it for the german language because it's unusable in many places. Those gamers who don't want to use another skin have a big disadvantage. I think the "skin-system" should be modified that changes you made in the skin files can be loaded with re-logging of the character. I can try to file a bug but without any feedback it makes no sense for me.

Turbine: We are working on translation issues. We do care about the problems! It sometimes takes a bit to get these issues fixed.

AW: Re: Re : Re: Sapience- Thank you
Are this staff only for MyLotro or also for the game? Becourse we have wrote many bugreports ingame and on bullroarer update 6 still no fix. Tooltips from classtraits, LIs and skills are in the german and french client partly pre-ROI. Since over 4 months in Dunland many Forgemaster are called Reliktmaster and Reliktmaster called Forgemaster. At Codemasters we had a reporting option "translation error / fault localization." Would it be possible to integrate this point in the turbine bug system?

Re: Sapience- Thank you
Completely and totally separate departments. You have one group that works on the website and MyLotro, and a number of different groups that work on various different parts of the game. You don't want some guy that knows html trying to write game code- it's not going to work.
Different people, different jobs.
I know it can seem frustrating to file /bug reports sometimes, and that sometimes it seems like they aren't fixed. But then when you don't they may not know about areas that have been missed in the translations or other things that have issues. Don't hesitate to file them- because you might be the only one that files it on something while others just complain about it on the forums or in other places. if no one does anything to bring it to the devs attention, then they won't know about it to fix the problem.
I get this same issue where I work. I don't find out about a problem sometimes until people have been upset about it and left without me knowing a thing until later on, whereas if they'd said something to me earlier i could have dealt with it when it was a minor thing and not had them get upset or dwell on it. People aren't mind readers. Don't assume that just because you see it and know about it that the ones who can fix it do.New forums are coming!! Goto this link for details

I'm glad someone brought up MyLOTRO, as we bloggers have also had issues we've been trying to get addressed in a separate thread. I considered bringing it up last night but fell asleep at the keyboard.

Lol. Sapience is hardcore with his forum posting.
I think he's maxed his rank in it.
But, very honestly, thank you everyone. It's always, always, always a pleasure to come in every morning/night/whenever and work with you guys. Before I came here, I know I said, "I can't think of a better community than the LOTRO Community." Working with you guys has only continued to constantly reinforce that opinion. The outpouring of creativity during Fashion Week was phenomenal and blew us all away, for example.
And, as Sapience said before, it's totally a team effort. Many many many props go to Clover as well. (She's awesome.)
Finally, I can't thank you all enough as well. Like I said earlier, you guys are awesome. Without everyone here, there would be no awesome community. Thank you.
