    Dwarven Company! - RP GROUP

    Well met, fellow dwarf!

*You arrive at the dwarf's group meeting. A handful of sturdy looking dwarves, beards long and their brows furrowed as they gaze upon a large scroll of plans. Once you walk closer you begin to overhear their conversation, you lean against a nearby pillar and bow your head."

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjGSeqv3nwo

[Thought this deserves to be installed here, it's a fine song and has a nice dwarven theme to it!]

A grey haired dwarf openly speaks, seated, he rests his elbow at the table, Carefully studying the group before him.
"I've gathered you here today for one purpose." his tone harsh, serious and all around grim. "To free Ered Luin from the clutches of ill! From the hands of Dourhands!" the dwarf peers around the group, he grins sinisterly before inclining his head, respectfully. "I've gathered a brotherhood of warriors, scholars, nobles, merchants and alike! All to serve one goal - Middle Earth's safety." he halts for a moment, before speaking once more. "For long have we rested, for long have we sought our own comfortable safe halls but never had we thought that the darkness that came across us on that fateful day, when Skorgrím's treachery had not yet been fulfilled. When he rose from death and begun his reign of terror once more upon Ered Luin!"

"Such ill tidings no one predicted..."

Now whilst our own kin lay put in the Halls, striving at the resources we earn from our trade and wildlife. Will that all be lost in the coming years? Will all they've gathered come for naught as Dourhands regain power, as they ambush us, steal our supplies, rampage through our lands. It is for you and the company's decisions that will shape the lives of so many for good or for bad.

    ----------------------------

    [Kinship's name/group]

    Miner's Expedition!

The reason for it being only dwarves is the fact that I actually just want it to be dwarves. At least we will start out as such. The founders will be dwarves whilst we may gather allies on our way, perhaps elves interested can come across us in Ered Luin. Uncertain if you'll get an invite due to our mutual dislike between races but there is hope. If your character brings forth great rp and good reason, no matter what race!, he'll/she be able to join.

The story behind this whole brotherhood of arms so you all may understand better, is fairly simple. We go forth from the start, from the beginning to end, that is our story, we will develop it as we go. While we are dwarves with different backrounds, personalities and so on I sincerely hope it will actually affect on how things tune out and how you all experience this unique feature!

It shall all be begin after mine collapsed. We the workers were trapped inside, although we attempted escape we were troubled to find the first exit already in ruin. We fought our way through, upon finding Gimli in battle against a massive troll we charged for his rescue, the troll reacted quickly, swinging Gimli, and three of us at a nearby wall. Suddenly, whilst the remaining few were loss of action, Gandalf arrived with Gormr, the wizard quickly shed light into the cave and more precisely unto the dreadful troll where he was brought to stone.

Now the six of us, have escaped the mine and are trying to figure out what caused that troll to lurk in elvish ruins, and how they, the group, can be of use. They start off just by a strange party of elves, what is their next move?...

    Goals and Rules:

    (1)

Our primary and what the sole definition of this group is the fact that we'll be doing the epic storyline IC, everything done there shall be 'In Character'. You are free to venture with friends and partners through other quests whether IC or not but the ones that are classified as EPIC or something that affects our story-line will have to be done with everyone unless under certain circumstances.

    (2)
the unneeded but appreciated goal ; To have everyone at an steady lvl. Not to say we're all going to be forced to stay at one lvl at a time but that we don't go overboard! Like while someone may stay at 20 while others at 30-40. It will remove the danger factor but if elected unnecessary I will withdraw this.
    - feel free to post your opinions on this matter here at this forum thread.

    (3)
To stay in the current region. While I won't mind if people stray sizes such as from Bree to Thorin's Halls. But going from there to a place like Moria when the group is perhaps only in the lone-lands is not something I'd personally want, just frowned upon, not really a rule!
-opinions liked on this as well.

    (4)

The Cycle time: We follow the day cycle. For example: when it is night we must seek shelter as we cannot move steadily in the dark. Our eyes turn weary, our legs tired, and the dangers that lurk at each corner may leave us defenseless. We create campfires, tents and so forth to sleep until the break of day.

No Swift Travel: This means that there's no swift traveling from stable to stable, no mounting, we all walk or run through middle-earth unless under certain IC circumstances!

    (5)

Side Roles: These are roles that can be taken and switched as time goes on. They are to add rp at certain times, such as when we are traveling or if someone is injured. We try to have this as diverse as possible, for everyone to feel like a true asset to the group!

    Cook/survivalist (1/1)
    - In charge of making campfires, also making meals when the group is hungry.

    Camp Guard (1/1)
    - Defends the camp at night while the company sleeps inside their tents. This role can be switched depending on the circumstances.

    Bard (0/1)
    - He's free to play any instrument, create verses for the whole group as we travel, he can be a real morale boost and goes often underrated!

    Hunter (0/1)
    - He often goes into the wild whilst the group remains steadfast in the camp, he hunts wildlife in search of meat and other food, the survivalist can then cook for all to eat. He may also bring someone with him on these, if he wishes to.

    Scout (0/1)
    - Goes on ahead in the group, finds viable paths, known to report findings of enemies such as orcs and other ill beings. Can be of use to avoid any confrontation with the enemy. This might be the most dangerous role of all, as he may venture into places with people who wish injuries upon us!

    Healer (0/1)
    - A strong asset! He is able to mend wounds. Bandage the injured, he is often found carrying most of the supplies. A stoutful backbag can be found on most healers as they often carry crucial supplies inside them. He may know something about poisons, and other dangerous physical wounds that traveled through liquid or heavy beatings.

    (6)

Here's the sixth addition. Look, don't get discouraged if you see someone playing the class you wanted to be. You can both roll the same one, no problem, but playing a different one can add to the fun as then you'd be having different fighting styles and it can only be interesting! Correct!?

    Classes!:

    Champion (1/x)

    Guardian (1/x)

    Runekeeper (0/x)
    - We're in desperate need of this class or the Minstrel. They're both high valued when it comes to grouping! Plus, either of them are quite interesting to rp and to rp with.

    Minstrel (0/x)
    - Read above.

    Hunter (0/x)

    Current company:

    (3/6)

    Bolfi.
    Oleifr.
    (Smodo)

    -------------

If you are asking yourself "How can I be recruited?". The answer is simple, just 'tell' me in game! (Bolfi) He is awaiting you.
-We will start either at the starting zone or just after that. Where we can group up and do the epic instances together! It's all right if you have completed something ahead all ready, we can catch up and also you can just join our quest by using the fountain by Thorin's Hall!

'' It's all right if you are already way ahead of us in the concern of lvls. It's all rp!''

Remember this though. I want rpers, real rpers. When we embark on our quest, head through instances and alike I want you all to take it in a IC perspective, not rushing through like crazy madmen but as dwarves! Steady and slow, comedy is allowed and can be fun but we must also be serious at times. That will make this allot more fun.

What I aim for is a friendly environment where we venture in our story-line and head into dangerous areas, defeat powerful foes, all In-Charcacter - Mind you!, We will not only isolate ourselves with that. We will go beyond that, visit towns, cities, regions with all kinds of folk. Hopefully visit any we have met on our travels. Share tells, drink loudly, and all in all have pleasant rp!

I'm unsure what you were trying to accomplish with that. If you are trying to recruit me, or any of those who have come across this thread you happen to be quite rude. As this is a recruitment topic of mine, not yours. If folk are interested in that kinship of yours they can visit it on their own initiative.

I apologize if I happen to sound impolite, just caught me off guard that someone would try to recruit someone in someone else's recruit topic!

I am deeply sorry for that, but I was under the impression that the kinship had yet to be formed? And thought I offer an invitation since Durin's Folk, is quite similar to the criteria of your proposed kinship.
Truly sorry, I did not mean to be rude in any manner of way, once you have read this I will gladly delete the replies, if you like?.

    EPIC - PROLOGUE:

The dwarven miners finally call for a meeting. They converse about their plans, goals and reasons. "Let us begin!" yelled a dwarf within the small group. "In due time, friend!" said Bolfi, lowly. He seemed bewildered with the mass amount of scrolls on the table before him, he rummages through them, then grasped a single parchment. "There have been peculiar reports and findings, lately." he nodded, eyeing everyone present. "As you may know, Dourhands and a good many goblins have made Ered Luin their home." he shook his head, before speaking once more. "We've all witnessed the power of the Dourhands at first hand, their treachery doesn't go unnoticed and they have for several years troubled our fair lands, and the goblins our whole kin for much longer!"

He slowly draws his longsword from his back. "This is our hour!" he grins sinisterly. "This is the time to bind our strength, our prowess, and mind into one force, into one fine expedition!" nodding his grin dampens. "The guards, the free peoples, can only do 'so' much and we - we, the dwarven backbone will aid where they cannot! Whereas they may find safety in numbers we find courage in our steel! We need not numbers, we need not armies. We rely only in ourselves!"

Bolfi holds his large blade in front of him. "Let our blades meet! As a symbol of a unity bound by dwarven warriors!" the rest of the group, along with his brother, Oleifr, unsheath their blades and form a circle. "From this day, and this day forth, we shall roam the vast terrain of Middle-Earth. Where ever trouble finds us, we shall prevail. Where ever there is darkness we shall be the victorious light!" they all withdraw their swords, looking at each other with a proud expression. "When do we begin?!" asked a dwarf. "We shall embark on our long journey at morn." replied Bolfi.

    -------------------

I shall provide necessary information on when we officially start which will most likely be tomorrow, if indeed someone of our party finds themselves unable we shall postpone for a later time, perhaps a day passing.

We are also looking for all kinds of races. Hobbits, elves, men alike. Yet, we take those in short supply. If -you- think your character wants to adventure with a company of Dwarves and that you can provide some fun and exciting role-play then by all means DO! We're all here to have fun and enjoy the epic story-line!
