mid 30's is when you get some skills that really flesh out the CC theme. Herb-lore (instant cast aoe root w/ 2 min cooldown) will really complement cracked earth.

    EDIT: I accidently a word.
It's not only that I should succeed, others's (monster players) should suffer.

Re: wich lvl do lore-masters get good/fun ?

If you enjoy it now, sounds like its fun already!

BTW, some of the stuff people comment about, was at one time alot of early skills were not available to classes. Turbine redid alot of that, like allowing duel wield, or summing, or bumping up certain dps skills or armour wear , much earlier then you used to be able to do. This makes most classes alot easier to handle early on.

In regards to my LoreMaster at lvl 41 I got my last page of sword and staff, its makes your lm superman or women =).Plus, you look super cool lol, Im not kidding, you really do, your skills take on a new life, visually Lms are probably the most stunning in game, some say RK, but I have both I would put the LM ahead visually speaking. then you get the Eagle, flanks GALORE come your way. Fun to be able to heal yourself while chain mezzing a mob and kiting/stunning/blasting away another.

Frankly, out of all of my toons, LMS are my favorite to play on the landscape. Plus I can play with blue line and my bog lurker without every person in the world screaming to me how I HAVE to trait for this or that =P.

But thats nothing new, I get the same with most classes, Ive had wardens tell me to go retrait, becuase I cant possible use NSD in a instance.. sigh =(.

Re: wich lvl do lore-masters get good/fun ?

I loved LM from the beginning mostly because it is fun to travel around with a cute little pet while I lit stuff on fire. I did just recently have my first nerdgasm with my LM yesterday in Moria (level 52).

I accidentally pulled 3 goblins and I immediately hit Ents (about 900 damage and 6 second AoE stun), Ancient Craft (armour debuff), Lighting Storm (AoE 3 attacks that each hit for about 500), and Cracked Earth...

    /allcapsrage

3 GOBLINS DEAD IN 3 MOVES.

Eventually your AoE burst damage just takes off when traited red, combine that with an endless supply of roots/dazes/stuns and you have yourself some fun(:

most people don't like them earlier because they have a very random assortment of skills and their lines aren't fleshed out.

Improved sticky gourd at around level 60 makes you an AoE monster!

I, too, believe LMs get more powerful and fun in their 30s. By the time you're in the mid 30's you have most of the skills that make an LM an LM. It seems like it may be this way with a lot of classes. Butg is another that definitely feels more fun once you get to the 30's and get more "burg" skills.

Back to the point, though, it's good you're already enjoying it and should continue to get more fun as you unlock new skills!

Re: wich lvl do lore-masters get good/fun ?

I was just doing a run of Red Maiden the other day and we had a lvl 42 lore master with us. Near the beginning of the instance, the LM whipped out what looked like a giant ent for a few seconds. This surprised both me (on my healing RK) and the rest of the group (3 hunters and a guardian, of course). Shortly after that, I decided I would roll an LM alt. Don't know if that answers your question, but I sure would think it would be fun to whip out an ent every once in a while!

Re: wich lvl do lore-masters get good/fun ?

early on people struggle as you don't kill stuff that quickly and are actually quite squishy so you have to be more careful with what you're doing. i really liked it from the off (my first main was a hunter :P )

LM is all about being in control, I loved being able to despatch mobs when i wanted them, so even if i accidentally pulled loads I had the tools to be able to deal with it. once you max out your traits, damage and get a decent staff you'll find it hard to play anything else as it's so much fun!

the only thing that's come close to matching that fun (imho) is a burglar. i'm levelling one now and I get the same feeling of awesomeness as i did with the LM.

    loremaster squishy.....

Not sure why people have this perception, with a tank pet? and CC skills, unless you pull 3-4, I dont see how it is is squishy light armour or NO armour....

ive died less to 41...then champ to 41.....and dont need to use heal potions either...

I think lore gets the real CC skills when the stun spells casts as instant...this was lvl 35-37 sometimes.

Again, I dont see how a kiting class is squishy if you learn to use your armory of skills!!!!!!!

it might just be me, but i fell in love with my lore-master at level 10 already I got my daze, and just the thought of being powerful enough to chaindaze a mob forever, man i loved it. now i could fight almost every mob in my level range (+-4), evven elites, and still win Whenever i got really low on morale, i could just (even if it took ages) chaindaze the mob till i had fully regened again. Some people might find it boring to spend so long time on one mob, but i saw it as one of the funniest things in the game, challenging myself like that - even if the reward was poor, it was fun.

sorry for typos etc, didn't go through it properly

Oh you poor child. Wait till you hit 65+. I always liked sending my lynx out to grab 5 mobs at a time, hit one with pounce, then send him to the next, for everyone after the first, just get inside aggro range, not actually hit, if you let the lynx tank too long he doesn't do so well. Then after he picks up everything I want, call him back so that all the mobs are behind him, unleash one of his aoes, then AC (+AC Targets on LI), Ents, Lightning storm. If that doesn't kill all 5, drop an extra stick gourd (held back for the short induction, LS and Ents are hard to get off when you have 5 mobs beating on you). Sometimes I have to resummon my pet, but I come out completely unscathed. You can also skip the LS and do SG + staff sweep. Worst part is, I feel safer pulling 5 mobs on my squishy LM then I do on my champ.

    Cool

I took my first LM to lvl 20-30 into the lone lands, and I just could not figure out how to beat more than 2 mobs. I got rid of him and went to several others. BUT I loved it so much I came back with more exp under my belt and redid him. Now at level 61. And I really enjoy it. I think first time out I did not figure out how to control a crowd so well, cause now I don't mind 3-5 mobs at all.
A LOT of flash bang going on, reminds me of Gandalf with his sword and staff.
The main thing however, is that you have fun. If you fell squishy right now, read the forums, make posts and learn how to best use the skills you have.
Stun one mob and kill the others one at a time. I LOVE the storm attack, new to improved sticky gourd, I like it as well, but still learning how best to use it.

If you don't like it at level 17, you will never like it. This is true for all classes, the idea that you have to put up with a boring class until level 30 before you figure out it is just a myth. The heart and soul of all classes can be figured out early, and the basic game play only changes in relatively small ways after that.

Hitting tight groups of 10+ mobs with an Improved Sticky Gourd is ridiculously satisfying, and the residual fire spots do a ton of damage when all five are grouped together.

Answer to this...every level you increase...enjoy the ride because LM's become more and more fun at each level.

Particularly when I first was able to hit Angmar and start working on my book pages is when I noticed a significant leap in power.

The class rocks....but I find it is also the game as you progress thru it that enhances that.....I only play one character...it's my rule for any MMO I play...multi gaming is much more fun than multi tooning so I am not sure if you have been thru this game to cap a bazillion times already.

Also when you get LI's and can spam Wizard's Fire with Continual Air Lore going that is sweet...tho that comes at much higher levels.
