So I downloaded this the other day in standard res. and I started it up for the first time today. I log in, choose the first server and go, but before I even get any sort of loading screen, the game crashes, leaving me with "lotro client has stopped working". This can in no way be my computer, because I am positive it is above and beyond the recommended specs:
6 core processor
GTX 550 Ti graphics card
10 GB RAM
Could it be because I am using the standard one? It asks me if I want to use Direct X 11 and I have tried once with and once without, both leading to the same conclusion. What should I do about this?

When you get a chance post your “dxdiag” data (the steps how are in the “how to get help..” sticky linked in my sig)

I have seen this problem on alot of threads and have seen hardly any fixes except a tick or two if you have a certain amount of ram, but no progress to even adress it. I have played many many mmos and have not crashed as many times as in this game. I have way above specs and have played this game for a couple of years and it isnt a little thing or a certain spec that i havnt adressed. These are one of the first priorities that should be looked at especially how long this game has bin aired.

There are many possible causes of crashes of this type, without posting a dxdiag file (steps how are in the sticky in my sig titled "how to get help on the tech forums") no one can assist much since there's not enough info to go on to make suggestions.
I would recommend that along with posting here that you also open a tech support ticket here since they can also get much more in-depth in troubleshooting this and trying to help you than can be done on the forums.
Also bear in mind that many threads do not get followup from the OP all the time so they may look unsolved but it may simply be that the person posting did not post a 'found out what it was' type reply.

Been getting this a lot in the last few days - no changes to my PC and tried many of the steps in other threads. Sigh.
