Thread: "Khazâd Fundinul" - mature, "family"-type kinship, your future home.

Last night, amidst a frightening level of technical issues, I adventured with one Teldrasil, an Elven Lore-Master. Between what I've read on these forums, your web site, and from what he told me, Khazad Fundinul sounds like the kind of Kinship I might be interested in joining.

I registered at the web site, but now I can't see anything in the forums, so I can't post my interest there. If you wish to chat with me in-game, the character I'm playing the most is Burrorin, a 15th level Dwarven Minstrel.

Might sounds kinda familar doesn't it? This sounds alot like what happened when I joined up took remote activation to get my account to work right. It might be a mess up in authentication program. I dunno Might you might just want to skip ahead next time you chat with Jolly and activate his account remotly unless your going to try and trouble shoot it.

Yes, somehow some people can't get through activation process. I am not sure why exactly its happening on their end but I can assure you that system works the way it supposed to. I've tried to go through activation process myself. Its possible that some players use 3rd party software that blocks ActiveX components or specific scripts.
I am also sure that some players have spam blockers and never receive confirmation email. Without confirming registration through the provided in email link web site may not work properly for you. I also don't exclude possibility that there is a bug in script. I will look into it, as for now please look us up in the game - Mightili, Lonerider, Draesael. I will activate your account manually so you can post your application.

Web site has undergone some upgrades after recent crash. Now we have gallery and other nifty features and more are coming. And yes we are still recruiting . Working on recruitment movie in fact.

Great guild btw for those that are interested, its a casual laid back guild, but very active! Lots of fun, we do role-play events, instances, just good 'ole get togethers where we sit around and just have a merry good time! Its very friendly and mature, check us out!


I've been here for about ~ 2 months and i gotta say, by far one of the best guilds i've been in. It really is a good home.

Yes, bump for the joy. Its good to see that we are growing little by little. We have strong group of people who are devoted to LOTRO. Most of them of course are mature, with families, jobs, so you won't see some uber rushing ahead bunch of people everyday screaming lewts and dudes everywhere . But we are getting ahead with steady pace. Many of us are over level 40. And we looove to have fun. So why don't you come and check us out.

Had event this wkend, very fun stuff! We did tomb of elendil!

Yep, it was fun on Chapter 8 of Book 5, Nazgul went down with a big Boom . We gotta get you those books done. Books IMHO are the most interesting challenges in the whole game, and of course they provide you with best rewards as well.

I just have to say I have tried THREE!!! Count them ONE TWO THREE and all of them either were only after GRINDING or the NUMBERS. It got old realy quick, and the game gets boring. With these guys you could not ask for a better kin on Brandywine. We are talking events, we are talking quest, we are talking moster play, we are talking raids. You Want It You Got It!!!

What kind of events do you have?

Do you have creeps or freeps?

Do you particpate in Raids?

Do you Role Play?

How often do you help each other out?

How big a part of your guild is raiding?

This sounds like a great guild and one i could definitely see myself in. Only thing that kinda worries me is the RP'ing. How strictly is that enforced?

You asked how many member we have, we have about 70 ACTIVE members currently. The reason I say active is because anyone can say they have 300+ members well if they are not ACTIVE who really cares. Usually about 15-30 are on at any given time.

As far as raids we do particpate however we are not a heavy RAID guild. If you are looking for a kinship to raid only then we are prob not it. However if you are looking for a fun group, that enjoys raids, events, grouping, and some RP then we should be one of your top picks. I know of no other kinship that offers those type of things. I think we are the only kinship that has EVENTS.

There ARE other kinships that have events.

However, the KF guys are a great kinship with a lot of fun members that I've enjoyed hanging out with myself when I meet up with 'em around town.

The best thing guys if you have any questions some of them may be answered by visiting our kinship web site and simply browsing around. We are trying to stay in game as active as possible, most of the activities we have are optional for every member. And its of course in their interests to participate depending of course either they are available or not in RL.

We have weekly "big" events, like July 14th - kinship RP event, then in a week from that we will have Scavenger's Hunt kinship event, and again a week from that we will have server scale event - "Big Party". Bryce may have exaggurated a bit, I would say we have more like 50 active members, by active I mean that their nicknames don't have long inactivity period in kinship in game list. Most of folks log in at least few times a week. We have of course "core" members that are the most active but majority of us are casual players.

We start picking up a little bit on MP side of LOTRO. Folks have some monster characters created and having fun being slaughtered by freeps from time to time. When more people in kin will show their interest we will have one of the days officially devoted to MP. I personally like freeps side more, so I am gonna wait until future patch will bring some really cool additions. Freeps will be able to play MP without joining dark side, which I am looking forward to (don't need to be level 50 on your freep character either). Since my main is guardian I am looking forward to that addition 'cause guardians have no place in PvMP.

We don't enforce role-play, we rather encourage it. Which means that if folks want to do RP we will provide necessary events and guides to make it more fun. But we won't expell you just because you don't RP at all. In my opinion RP is a great tool to mix up every day play routine. Our RP events provide rewards for completion, so lets say its the same as if you would be doing regular in game quest. But you won't be able to rush through it like you may have done with some LOTRO quests by just accepting it and completing without reading the content.

For example one of the RP event detail is that you will have to talk to PC character that will give you some clues. Like if you approach him "Hey dude, wassap, gimme that blue bottle yea?" - won't work. "Greetings, I come from Blue Mountains, do you have any important information from me, master elf? " - this way will work better . RP events are an opportunity for folks to present their characters the way they want.

And of course the most important thing in our kinship is respect and trust. We don't allow any profanity or vulgarity. You WILL be expelled for that. Mature attitude is mandatory, that helps us to keep drama away and kinship intact.

Officers are the most active and helpful members. This rank in our kin comes with responsibility that not everyone is able to bear. We have 2 weeks purging rule and only 2 alts are allowed to be tagged with kin name in order to avoid clutter in kinship list.

We've been growing slowly but surely, this past week we have gotten about 2-3 solid members in they are making great additions. New events being planned as this is posted! Check out website out for the latest news, we have a fantastic server wide party going at end of month!

It looks like the whole LOTRO has slowed down during the summer time. But we still have 10-15 members on at times. And of course events are still being tan every week no matter what. KF is very solid kinship and will remain one.

Yeah and my Internet blew up and I couldn't see anything. I am glad that guys have enjoyed it. We need to get them here so they can say how cool we all are .

That was probably one of the best nights I've had in LOTRO so far. Master elites, Arch nemesis dragon, and we actually took him 5 of us remember, cause Donn died in the beginning. It was simply awesome experience. Plus we all got our class quest "elite" pieces. I am looking forward to go there again tonight, hopefully Arch will be on tonight. I bet he still needs his piece.

I just started playing LOTRO last night and am only at level 5 so unfortunately I don't have the level requirement to join you yet but from what I've seen this is the kind of Kinship I could go for. I've been playing SWG for 2 years and know the importance of having a good, mature guild to make the most of a gaming experience. I also play Hero online and Silkroad for MMO's and am an old school pen and paper RPG'er. I'm an adult, married with two children and enjoy playing with same or at least mature younger players. Sounds like you have a nice balance of PR and grind going on and I hope you're still recruiting by the time I'm ready to meet your requirements. Fantastic web site too, btw. Yes, we do have level requirement 20 at this point mostly to let new recruits know what level range our current members are in. Most of us have few alts, but level 20 would be preferable due to the levels of our alts as well . Few of our members have their mains in late 40s, several reached level 50. Congrats Draesael, btw, she hit 50 yesterday night (*fireworks*). You can register and still be in kin if you want, we can at least provide you with some useful info on kin channel if you have any questions. I think you can get to level 10 in like 2 hours. So, go go Aethelrond! Come over our web site and post application so we can start recruitment process with you. Unless you want to be unkinned until you meet reqs you are welcome into our "halls". Hopefully in October when we get Kinship Halls I won't have to use that word in quotes .

Ran some gulidies through Book 4 Ch 8 last night, helped one of our lvl 18 members do ~ 9 quests.

Thanks for the great reply. I may head over to sign up later tonight but I'll hold off on applying for the kin till I hit 20. No need bending the rules. I'm at level 9 (and a half, lol) as of last night. I'm enjoying exploring and trying to find all the little bits of content out there in Middle Earth right now so I'm not in a hurry to power level or anything. I also want to explore the crafting aspect soon. Hopefully I'll be seeing you on your forums and I'll be looking for you all in game.
