"Khazâd Fundinul" is still here and recruiting. We've been around for about 4 years now! We seek mature players who want to enjoy the game in group of friends and helpful kinmates. You will find atmosphere in our kinship peaceful and fun. We don't allow any kind of drama or greafing and try to promote every member to be helpful to each other and the most important to have fun while enjoying Middle Earth. Activity on the forums is preferable. Recruitment is based on probation period that may last for up to 7 days.

"Khazâd Fundinul" was found as a unique dwarven clan in MMORPG "Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar" during second Closed Beta in 2005. During the process of organization kinship has become mixed type community and at this moment accepts all mature fun people as recruits. We are not RP kinship, more of a family type kinship where members respect and value each other. Hang out after boring work day, keep it fun and relaxing.
At this point we are switching to a multi-game community - "KF Multi Game". While continue in LOTRO we will also be playing SWTOR and GW2 whenever they are out.

We try to be as active as our jobs and families allow us to be. We try to stay on top of things that we have planned. We plan our time ahead and do something fun together at least 1-2 times a week. Weekends are the busiest. During the week we have scheduled events that members can sign up for and have fun together.
KF is one of the oldest kinships on Brandywine server. We have been found during the second closed beta and we are still active and growing.

Full Kinship roster - dynamic information about your real in-game characters that is being synchronized with My.lotro.com once every 24 hours. After joining, members can claim their in game characters that will be available for signing up, personal achievements records etc.
Rapid Raid - dynamic feature that allows us to schedule events/raids/instances etc. Very versatile environment that allows to keep track of everything that has been done by specific characters. Participation, Boss Kills, Item checks etc. Information about items is being pulled from another LOTRO database - Lotro Lorebook and all the item stats are displayed similar way.
Gallery - every member can create galleries and add pictures of their adventures to share with everyone else.
Calendar, synced with Rapid Raid - follow up the scheduled events and sign up for preferred ones from the Calendar directly or from Rapid Raid.
PvP - create PvP team accordingly to 'tribes' in PvMP and chose Latest KoS to hunt down.
Wiki and Forums - create personal pages on Wiki and participate in Forum discussions.

After 4 years of LOTROing, we are still here, can you believe that? You would think we are crazy, insane, toasted... Yes we are maybe all that, but we also like this place called Middle Earth and so far nobody was able to get even close to what Turbine did with Middle Earth in this MMORPG. Some players moved on to a more hardcore gameplay, others decided to take a break, but I bet most of them will always keep this memeory of fun days they've used to have in LOTRO.

I just want to second these words - we are always advancing community with great people as members. If you like to RP you may fit in as well. Sometimes folks RP even on kinship channel. Its fun as long as you want it to be fun. I think fellowship is the core of the LOTRO and as long as you have great fellowmate next to you - that what makes experience in LOTRO unforgettable.

I'm in the open-beta, but I have pre-ordered.

I have 2 characters. One's a lvl 4 Man Captain, the other is a lvl 1 Elf hunter.
I haven't played the hunter yet, but I don't think I'm liking the captain much. Captain's name is Eodorin, not sure what I named my elf.

I'd love to have a kinship that really enjoys the Tolkein lore & treats the game as not just another MMO out there.

We dont' really treat LOTRO as just another MMO out there... or did you mean DO NOT treat LOTRO as just another MMO out there? Because we don't... We love LOTRO for what it is - unique, Tolkien Lore based beatiful world.

I tried to register on your site & it seemed successful, but the account activation page is seriously messed up. All teh CSS formatting is gone. When I try to log in I get this blank "Information" page that contains a blank box.

Ya, I tried that. When I click log in I get a control panel screen, but nothing shows up and going to any other pages leave "Log In" up there and I get the screen in the screenshot again (blank box).

All forum-related pages show up like that to me... weird.

Ok, finally worked. I scoped out the requirements and I think I'm going to have to pass. I love the Tolkien universe and all, but I'm not that into RP and that seems to be a prominent activity for your Kinship.

Great guild btw for those that are interested, its a casual laid back guild, but very active! Lots of fun, we do role-play events, instances, just good 'ole get togethers where we sit around and just have a merry good time! Its very friendly and mature, check us out!


I've been here for about ~ 2 months and i gotta say, by far one of the best guilds i've been in. It really is a good home.

This sounds like a great guild and one i could definitely see myself in. Only thing that kinda worries me is the RP'ing. How strictly is that enforced?

You asked how many member we have, we have about 70 ACTIVE members currently. The reason I say active is because anyone can say they have 300+ members well if they are not ACTIVE who really cares. Usually about 15-30 are on at any given time.

As far as raids we do particpate however we are not a heavy RAID guild. If you are looking for a kinship to raid only then we are prob not it. However if you are looking for a fun group, that enjoys raids, events, grouping, and some RP then we should be one of your top picks. I know of no other kinship that offers those type of things. I think we are the only kinship that has EVENTS.

There ARE other kinships that have events.

However, the KF guys are a great kinship with a lot of fun members that I've enjoyed hanging out with myself when I meet up with 'em around town.

The best thing guys if you have any questions some of them may be answered by visiting our kinship web site and simply browsing around. We are trying to stay in game as active as possible, most of the activities we have are optional for every member. And its of course in their interests to participate depending of course either they are available or not in RL.

We have weekly "big" events, like July 14th - kinship RP event, then in a week from that we will have Scavenger's Hunt kinship event, and again a week from that we will have server scale event - "Big Party". Bryce may have exaggurated a bit, I would say we have more like 50 active members, by active I mean that their nicknames don't have long inactivity period in kinship in game list. Most of folks log in at least few times a week. We have of course "core" members that are the most active but majority of us are casual players.

We start picking up a little bit on MP side of LOTRO. Folks have some monster characters created and having fun being slaughtered by freeps from time to time. When more people in kin will show their interest we will have one of the days officially devoted to MP. I personally like freeps side more, so I am gonna wait until future patch will bring some really cool additions. Freeps will be able to play MP without joining dark side, which I am looking forward to (don't need to be level 50 on your freep character either). Since my main is guardian I am looking forward to that addition 'cause guardians have no place in PvMP.

We don't enforce role-play, we rather encourage it. Which means that if folks want to do RP we will provide necessary events and guides to make it more fun. But we won't expell you just because you don't RP at all. In my opinion RP is a great tool to mix up every day play routine. Our RP events provide rewards for completion, so lets say its the same as if you would be doing regular in game quest. But you won't be able to rush through it like you may have done with some LOTRO quests by just accepting it and completing without reading the content.

For example one of the RP event detail is that you will have to talk to PC character that will give you some clues. Like if you approach him "Hey dude, wassap, gimme that blue bottle yea?" - won't work. "Greetings, I come from Blue Mountains, do you have any important information from me, master elf? " - this way will work better . RP events are an opportunity for folks to present their characters the way they want.

And of course the most important thing in our kinship is respect and trust. We don't allow any profanity or vulgarity. You WILL be expelled for that. Mature attitude is mandatory, that helps us to keep drama away and kinship intact.

Officers are the most active and helpful members. This rank in our kin comes with responsibility that not everyone is able to bear. We have 2 weeks purging rule and only 2 alts are allowed to be tagged with kin name in order to avoid clutter in kinship list.

Yes, bump for the joy. Its good to see that we are growing little by little. We have strong group of people who are devoted to LOTRO. Most of them of course are mature, with families, jobs, so you won't see some uber rushing ahead bunch of people everyday screaming lewts and dudes everywhere . But we are getting ahead with steady pace. Many of us are over level 40. And we looove to have fun. So why don't you come and check us out.

Yep, it was fun on Chapter 8 of Book 5, Nazgul went down with a big Boom . We gotta get you those books done. Books IMHO are the most interesting challenges in the whole game, and of course they provide you with best rewards as well.

KF is a great group of mature (both in age and attitude) gamers. If you are looking for a nice drama free home in LOTRO then this is the place to come.

I had the happy occasion to group with a number of members of KF last night on a attempt to complete Fornost in what appears to have been near record time. We didn't make it, not for a lack of trying and a considerable use of skill and resources, but it was an enjoyable experience.

A great bunch of folks. I look forward to grouping with members of KF in the future.

How was CD run, Von? I've read on forums that it was great. I've finally got my PC fixed and upgraded, logged in today, DX10 graphics are amazing, no words.

Well, Bando's run made it all the way to the boss that drops the Rune of Winged Vengeance. Our group didn't fair as well, but we still made it to the slime. We would've gone further, but I had to be at work by 1am, so we stopped around midnight EST. Not bad with 3/6 members never being in CD before. We've already planned to go again this Saturday, so we're hoping to go even further this time, at least get the second key. We might try and get the first key for someone else too.

Your kinship looks like the kind I am interested in, however I am on the Elendilmir server. Do you have any recommendations for kins on that server that are of upstanding mature (in nature) group that has organized events?

guess this would be a bump but i have a question. My char name is madera been trying to put in an app for your kinship but your account registration page has no place to put in your temp password. Hence i can not get access to the recruitment boards have you stop taking people in ?

Both in FAQ and even after you click Account Registration it says to includethe required information. Just include it free-form, like this:

Main Character Name: XXXXXX
Email address: XXXXXXX
Temp Password: XXXXXXX
