Just a guess but I think this might be to address low level class quests being assigned to the wrong class (ex: a captain going for his/her lvl 15 class quest only to find out they can't complete it because its the burglar quest they got). Have had reports of this happening to a few people now and would seem to fall into the above quoted quide lines of what hotfixes are for.
hopeing for saruman ring bearer dc fix. they dont get the ring skills back, even if its a short dc and they spawn again midfight on the top of the tower

Good call, because thats a turn-off for new players. There also seems to be a severe extra bug introduced for Runekeepers with the patch last week, where the characters get braindead while healing; could be a good candidate as well.
As mentioned by others, fixing exploits can be (part of) a hotfix as well. But those are surely not published beforehand (hehe..), and likely not afterwards as well. For good reason too.
Naaa, it's probably only to fix the current graphics bug on the Grand Stairs where the lava stream runs straight out into space instead of down the incline.
(hehe)
The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.

Re: What's so hot that needs a fix
Sorry guys, the simple answer is there was an issue with the Treasure Hunt event that we wanted to fix before bringing it back in a few days. We had the option of fixing it in a hotfix and letting you play the event, or keeping the event turned off until Update 6. We figured you guys would like to play the event again before that so we fixed it.
Nothing else was changed. It is now safe to remove the tinfoil.

My first thought when I saw the hotfix announce last night was about lootboxes too.
I dont like suspicious hotfixes and hidden changes.
Still I miss a hotfix that fix non agility classes missing rate.

The treasure hunt was working pretty well but nice to hear that it wont be turned off. And I hope that issue wasn't people getting their treasure mounts "too easily" (because it wasn't).
This is what I thought as well, that they were lowering the drop rate of 1st age symbols from lootboxes.
Well with the current low drop rate of the lootboxes and keys not sure it is even worth doing it.
So far after days and days killing stuff to exhaustion only once did I saw a loot box drop and I was in a fellowship doing a 6 man instance.
I didnt won the roll but the prize was not nothing noticeable anyway.
I know many disagree but putting those symbols on boxes was one of the worst mistakes done by turbine. Again a reward of game effort and accomplishment has been completely trashed.
Best off putting them up in the lottery. At least it would give a fair chance to all.
Next thing we can write letters to santa claus and get a new caracter up to 75 fully geared for Christmas without even having to play the game...
Sometimes I wonder if it is worth investing so much time playing the game in a effort to be better at it and trying to accomplish things to see the stuff treated as worthless freebies by turbine.
I really cannot understand Turbine's own disrespect for the product they develop.
If they keep "fixing" it nobody will be able to do it. I saw it bug twice out of probably 30-40 runs and since the last fix it seems 50/50 and its bugging earlier and earlier. We had it bug in the first phase last week. Figure a few more fixes and it'll bug when you click on the chest to start it.
They need to stop guessing and put some debug code in so they can find out why its bugging. They clearly have lost control of the code and are just adding random logic hoping to hit a homerun.

Generally agree but would rather see it in lootboxes than lotteries. At least its attained from playing the game that way VS power leveling 100 toons to 65 to enter the lottery. People that don't raid don't need first ages. People that don't earn their gear don't appreciate it for what it took to get it. It degrades the entire system.
Nope, it's an in game event that's not related to lotteries in any way.
And it was one of the coolest events Turbine has given us to date. I think they made a mistake pricing the picks thou. I don't think I'll buy any at any price but if they'd sell them cheap I bet they'd sell craptons of them. Like 10 for 50 tps or something.

I've not seen one either. My wife, however, found two in the last week alone.

For a minute I thought the hotfix was for Draigoch bugging out or "WL" bug that makes you log out for 10 minutes while it "cleans up your connection".
Nope; more fluff.
Hope they fixed a) the "huge" piles dropping only 12 tokens and b) not wasting a cave claw when you try to use a second one in a round where you used one but did not take the selected pile because it was too small... Or perhaps make the mounts BtA as well *pretty please*
Or the cave claws sniping your dig spot. I could be in the process of digging a huge spot (found with a dowsing gem) and then someone's cave claw would interrupt me and tag it for them and I could not dig any more. Was very annoying every time it happened.

Happened to me. I was in the middle of mining the huge dig site when a cave claw interrupted it. At least Lotro doesn't consume the mining pick in that scenario....
