Thread: Scholar in search of resources....

I had to pick an occupation that's real hard to find stuff for (lol).

Anyhow...I'm finding many Torn Craftsman's Diaries but hardly any Faded Sindarin Pages...which is a shame since available recipes require a 1:2 ratio which is frustrating.

I'd also like to find recipes for morale restoring potions (what I use most). I found and bought the one for Lesser Athelas Essence, but I'd like to track down Simple Athelas Essence and Greater Athelas Essence. Sadly the lotro-wiki is fairly useless for anything other than base information about items. Tells you what they are and what they do but not useful stuff like where to find recipes for them.

I'm looking to trade/buy these items as finding them is time consuming and, sadly, where I seem most likely to find them the rate of occurrence is rare.

Unless there's an area when it loot drops like crazy that I don't know about yet.

I've not dealt with the auction hall much. I didn't know if I could post up what I want and get pinged when it comes available or if I had to camp out there and hope to get lucky.

Yeah, Iornivas is absolutely loaded with scholar nodes and Goblins/Dourhands (which is useful since sentient creatures drop recipes and scholar mats sometimes) and is a nice little circuit. Assuming you are close enough level(or over level) it should be no problem to play there and build up a nice reservoir of mats for that tier.

With the Auction Hall it is the Camping style, You go in and search for items on the first tab, they are arranged by category and/or you can use a search term. One warning is that stuff on the AH(especially crafting materials) tends to be rather expensive so it may not be worth buying.

I seem to remember them dropping in barrows in south barrow-downs.
