    Homes Personal and Kin

It would be nice if the size of the homes grow as the game has .

add a larger Personal home .
    add a larger kin house.

We are getting more housing items but running out of space to put the new items so a larger home is in order.

This would require a fairly large major revamp and as such Turbine would have to look at cost and profitability.
Which Means they would probably only do this through the store.
Sell bigger houses or Hook unlocks for real money Via TP.

A more Immediate problem is the need for mre houses.....
Most are locked down to non payment of Upkeep and many new currently active paying Players
can not even get a House.

Turbine Must do something about that....Such as Kick all Inactives from houses if they have been Inactive
and unpaid for 2 years or more as a start point to see if this frees up enough Houses.
Turbine Do something for your Active Paying members WE WANT Houses.

Agreed about taking care of dead wood home-steaders (so to speak) if that is a problem.
This way more resources are not required (such as neighborhoods et al).

I believe if they were able to allow more personal freedom in decorating our domiciles, as in making item placement based upon size category as opposed to hook location. We would have a more enjoyable experience with the homes we already have.

I also agree that we are getting more stuff & no viable place to store it.
(storage is a precious a thing, as anything else in game).
Thus selling extra chests via the store may be another viable answer to making a "Huge" developmental change.

Utimately, Housing will have to evolve as much as the game itself is expending.
Especially since there are so many people who have been here for years and expect to continue playing.

If we are willing to pay for VIP content, believe me, we are willing to pay for the added extras to make our original investment that much better.

That is why the thought about estates, which are separate from the normal neighborhoods, is a viable idea. By the looks of the housing entry areas they had already expected that one day something would have to be done.

By Starting from scratch (so to speak) they would be able to accomodate this "older" crowd's needs. With the bigger yards (with steed corals) and homes, more storage availability & expandability, along with better personalization, we should have what we desire.

When it is ready for us to move in, we would be leaving our old homesteads & making them available for the newer players.

The LOTRO store would handle everything beyond the basic "walk in the door" accoutrements. AND if they allowed different skins to be applied to the basic items we would have the ability to personalize more. That silver chest is ugly - why not a schifferobe for cosmetics, a desk for scholars, work cabinets for crafters, panties for cooks etc. Crafting storage is a really BIG issue. Why not make it fun & profitable.

Speaking of the above, what about allowing us to designate an area of the home for a specific purpose. IE: My Toon is a Guild Master Cook. I want this room for a kitchen. Sell stoves, panties etc in the store. The same being for the other professions. We are proud of what you have allowed us to create in the alternate universe. Let us "Pay You" to show it off.

As long as LOTRO was able to give us the space to do it, We WILL spend money to custimize.

I think it is missed oportunity for some good revenue & some VERY happy players.

Erm.. hmmm *chuckle* I hope mean pantry(pantries) as in the food closet not panties as in the slang for girls underwear?

Nice suggestions though. And yeh would be nice was some way could work out the hookups so not as many issues such as I'll end up a bunch of stuff for wall, large and small furniture I have so much stuff for decorating house by now that I can find no place put them yet all my slim furniture slots are empty... none of the stuff not even the standing thin looking furniture stuff fits in slim furniture slot just small... Be nice if maybe they would do away with the slim slots and make them small or something but able to fit slimm furniture that few pieces that exist...

Here's another idea for both personal and kin homes: make the yards like the floors inside the houses, with swapable seasonal paints! I'd love to have snow in my yard during the winter, and leaves in the fall, dandelions in the summer, etc! Sell the seasonal yard paints in the store if you have to, I'll buy them!

Yes, the snowmen don't quite look right on a field of grass...

Revamping the housing sistem is IMHO one of the point where Turbine should work, few themepark have housing for pg and guild, this is a feature that will raise LOTRO quality over the other games if expanded.

I second this! I'm starting to run out of room all over the place, and the fact that my bound items just so happen to be house items, I can't even store them in my house which is just plain stupid!

    Re: Homes Personal and Kin

I have too much time invested creating toons and getting there level high enough to venture out and look for a house just to find there are none available. Then have to go through that entire process again on a different server and hope there are houses available? Not to mention trying to get this done during a fest to get that cool horse and stuff.

Thorins hall housing is near two crafting guilds with a superior forge (weapon and metalworking), the Shire has cooking guild with superior facilities and I think superior farming, Human nothing, nada, no crafting guilds or even a superior crafting facility of any kind. Why not add housing near the other guilds/superior crafting facilities? Granted Rivendale only has Scholar but Esteldin has Woodworker, Jeweler and Tailor.

I understand this takes development time for the programmers and thus payroll. It would not take as much work to allow these superior crafting facilities either in the housing community or purchasable for in the persons home (possibly have them as crafted items, need a crit for the superior version). This will benefit lower level toons who's profession is very difficult to get to the superior version of the crafting facility.

As far as adding more layers to the current housing areas, this just adds to the database where the data is stored. It does not cost Turbine anything except hard drive space to increase the number of layers. However when rent is over due, the house should be foreclosed on and resold, but the contents put in escrow. Problem solved, plenty of houses available.

I host a game server and have done most of the software development myself, so I know how easy it is to make these things happen. Turbine please look into these and other ideas being posted by your customers in your forums.

I agree with this. We need the Kinhouse to be the largest personal house, and a larger Kinhouse put into place. Would also be nice to see the "lot" system from DAoC implemented, this way you could put any size house on a lot, you buy the land and then buy the deed from a vendor for the kind of house you want. That being said, yes, they need to clear out the houses that have been vacant for years if nothing else.
