The Coffee House is open for Thirsty Thursday Thinking.

Had a health assesment this morning. No surprises. This is good and bad.
She said "Now I will check your body fat" and I said "Yes, I have it"

I have lost weight and my numbers are a little lower. Of course I cheat and am on meds for most of them.

    And the day progresses slowly.

Wilson has a wonderful Breakfast/Lunch spread and I can see Friday around the corner.

    Happy Thursday Landroval!!

    Wait,..wha,?!

I was shocked we actually have( scheduled) Monday off,...but but,...you have 4 days! /jealous

Though it's not uncommon here for us to have holidays, yet work through it for 'specially' selected people on a deadline..

I will find out tomorrow evening what my weekend looks like.

    =================

If all goes well,...I will prolly head upState to my hometown to see some friends.,.they just had a baby, a bit of a fright, as the baby had to be driven up to Albany for emergency surgery. Lucky it was done quick and successful and they are now back home.

other than that,..business as usual,..I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on this current project so I may go back to normal.

    Have fun with Tazer ball!

    Good morning Landroval!

Working, working, working! Got lots of homework for my Project Management classes that I need to take care of tonight....ugh!

Need to pick a miniature and order it for the Privateer Press painting competition being held at Lock and Load this year in Seattle. I ended up not finishing my entry last year and decided I wanted to do something different. Starting now in hopes I have the time to complete it by June.

Hopefully I can get some LOTRO in tonight, after the homework of course.

Well, I feel closer to human today, and it's a good thing. Today I get to take daughter #2 for her orthopedist appointment so we can find out just how "stanky" her leg is. It is still pretty swollen, and feels "loose" when she is not wearing her brace. This is playing hell with her attendance at school, not to mention she is not able to do much cabinet-building while trying to maneuver on crutches.

For those who recall that my mom is in a rehab hospital after running over herself with her new power chair and causing a huge hematoma on her leg, the news is good and bad there. She is healing well, and may not even require grafting if it continues the way it has been. Her attitude is also a bit better now that my brother has managed to get her laptop working again, and showed up at her hospital room with it. (She had given it a Diet Pepsi bath about the same time she had the power chair accident.) The bad news is that, after a week and a half or so in her own room, she is in a shared room again. This time, her roomie is a very nice Hispanic woman who does not speak a word of English and watches Spanish language soap operas at insane volume at all hours. I may stop whil I am out later and see if I can find her some headphones so she can listen to music on her laptop.

As soon as I'm done with these meds, it is going to be Malibu Hurricane night at my house. Just sayin'.

Hmmmm, I always picture Riverwind and Goldmoon looking more American Indian-ish, with the exception of Goldmoon's gold-silver hair.

I would also say it seems appropriate, but I'm not sure what it's appropriate for, actually. It's amusing in a warped way, but violent, and I never knew Legos could be gory. Erm. Yeah. This is my third time trying to post, sadly I keep getting distracted. Darn workload! /shakefist

Lego's are awesome and my inner child still wants to play with them.
I'm enjoying yet another cup of coffee for the day, though I really need to lay off the caffeine.
I finally dragged my butt back into jujitsu last night and I'm certainly paying for it today.

I've been participating in the biggest diet of my life, so I understand how difficult it is to get those numbers even "a little lower". It's a pain in the butt, it is. So good on you, congrats on that!

I feel very lucky that I work from home the majority of my week, because as soon as I get my work done for the day, I'm -done-. I don't have to worry about extra stuff and that's a great perk. We get Monday off too!

Inner child? Psht. I'm 26 almost and I still play with them given the chance!

    ------------------------------------

    So as for my day!

An update on my husband's shoulder. He saw the Orthopedic Surgeon today who has decided that we're to wait another week to see if it improves at all. If it doesn't show signs of improvement, then they're going to inject dye into his shoulder and he'll have an MRI. I'm hoping it heals quickly and doesn't require surgery because he's already had surgery on this arm and a second one will never be as good as the first was. The doctor all but assured us of that, so we're all trying to avoid it. Thank god we rekindled old friendships last year, so we have some friends that can help us move!

On another, disturbing note... There was a horrible bus & dump truck accident down the road today. My cousin goes to the school in which the bus was from but thankfully neither she nor my aunt (a bus driver) was on that bus. Sadly, however, a little girl - from a set of triplets and the daughter of a state trooper - died. Her other sister may have brain damage. So it's been kind of a ###### day in these parts.

Regardless of the two paragraphs above, I'm still in a happy mood and incredibly optimistic about our eventual move and I'm looking forward to it immensely!

Re: The Coffee House is open for Thirsty Thursday Thinking.

    Afternoon, Landrovalrim,

In no particular order.....Faythe, glad the weight loss thing is going well, Gweanne, glad to hear Mom may not need surgery, Delaney and Welby, great videos, Sylexis, hope you didnt get too banged up the first day back. Hail and well met to our newer posters. Welcome to the coffee House. Anyone I missed ..../bow and apology.

Now an update since this seems to have been doctor day for some of us here in the coffee house. I had my yearly physical today. Gombur stayed outside and flirted with all the nurses, so he kept himself occupied. I was worried about him because he doesnt like the houses of healing too much. He keeps telling me "Och Laddie, just rub some dirt on it!"

I wish I could say the physical went well. The bloodwork of course hasnt come back, but it will interesting what we find. The work I had done friday in the er would seem to indicate that my kidney function is somewhat impaired. Added to that, now my right leg is swelling as bad as the left one, and this is something new, which could also mean that the kidneys are overstressed. So we will see.

Then a little while ago, i went to the orthopoedic surgeon who looked at my left knee. He thinks the knee is basically sound, but that it is overstressed due to my heavy work load and being as heavy as I am. He prescribed some Voltaren gel for it. this is a new topical preparation for arthritis and stuff like this. So we will see.

Also my regular doc recommended me checking out a new, very aggresive weight loss program that is done thru the offices of one of the top diabetes md's down here. I am not diabetic, but they take all comers. I am having a meeting with them very soon.

    Take care all, Doc

Re: The Coffee House is open for Thirsty Thursday Thinking.

    *sigh*

Daughter #2 injured her knee last Friday night. I took her to urgent care on Saturday, where they said it would not do any good to x-ray it because it was more than likely ligament damage which would not show up. They said for an MRI they would need to refer to an orthopedist. We got the referral call Tuesday, for an appointment this afternoon. When we arrived this afternoon, the first thing they did was an x-ray, which turned up nothing. The orthopedist looked at it and said "I think we need an MRI." We are now waiting for another call for the MRI appointment, and have scheduled the orthopedist follow-up for 10 days out. Gee, it's a good thing she's not impaired or in pain or anything, huh?

My cousin goes to the school in which the bus was from but thankfully neither she nor my aunt (a bus driver) was on that bus. Sadly, however, a little girl - from a set of triplets and the daughter of a state trooper - died. Her other sister may have brain damage. So it's been kind of a ###### day in these parts.

You guys! I'm going to have to order more pillows for the pillow corner if this keeps up!
