Thread: game wont luanch after i log in

i can login to my character, but when the lotro login screen goes away and the game is suposed to launch nothing happens. i was told to delete all update files(that i cant find anywhere, dont know what files to look for). where are the files i can get to the game files but dont know what to look for. how do i find the update files

I believe they mean the steps to 'repatch' the game, or potentially to reset the games graphics settings but one question when you get to character select do you actually 'see' your characters and the 3d background or does it come up with just a black screen and the 2d items like menu options only? (if that latter try the steps recommended here)

When you get a chance though post your dxdiag (the steps how are in the 'how to get help' sticky linked in my sig) and a more elaborate description of what you're seeing and any specific messages or errors that come up if any do.
