Greetings burglars.
Looking at throwing up a pvmp gambler build for my burg, stats would look like;
1,219 agi
996 vit
9,738 tact mit
5,667 crit
8,845 morale
16,618 phys mastery
2,745 power
For class traits I would be going, (blue) Leaf Walker, Sidestep, Honed wit, Swift and Subtle, Cruel Odds (reds) Ambidextrous, Cunning Wound.
Legendary would be Dealings done, Stick and move, and Flashing blades.
Li's would look like the following; Lucky Strike CD, Burg Skill Bleed Multiplier, Subtle Stab Crit, Subtle Stab Damage, Trick range and Crit response Skill damage.
Tools would like like: Sneak Movement Speed, Stealth level, skills crit multiplier, Gamble chance, Healing - glee, Clever Retort damage/healing.
I'm liking the look of this build for pvp, though I had one question in particular.
Out of the Orthanc set bonus', there is obviously the infamous Aim devastate 5set bonus.
My question is, if specced towards clever retort (trait and legacy on tools), would it be of better value to go for the set that gives the Clever Retort bonus, than the aim devastate bonus?
Unless I am mistaken , for anyone who doesn't know, the 5set bonus to the Gambler OT set, gives Clever Retort the ability to do a damaging effect and a healing effect at once.
The Auto-devastate obviously seems more potent in DPS/dev buff, but I have never been sure of the full effect of Clever Retort, especially at what seems like such a buff in magnitude.
Any advice and answers anyone could chuck at me would be appreciated, don't know many burgs who still roll with, or know much about gambler line these days.
Cheers.
EDIT: Realise the name of thread might not be entirely appropriate for what I have asked here.
In my opinion gambler rocks, but the bonus of the QK armor is very strong.... also for a gambler!
The autodevastate open your crit line and give to you the +40% buff for gambler... that's mean that every gamble you'll try is a 100% success.... that's strong.
The gambler set have some nice bonus... -1m EO is fine but not as aim autodevastate.
The CR doubling effect is strong too ... expecially with the +40% damage|healing legacy for CR
but mate...
AIM = Devastate is the best for every trait line...
the only situation where you don't want that bonus is if you're sure to do a devastate every 4-5s of a fight, so you can have your devastate buff up.
I'm not yet at LV75 but right now i think that the QK set is the best also for gamblers.

Quite True, although I was never really sure how large the damage or healing effect from CR was when specced, as I have never actually invested in it.
I'll probably go for the Aim devastate, but if I get the marks, would be nice to swapout to just for CR.
right now, 3 target dust + 3 target twist + damage gamble is full of win. I would make sure you have that capability in pvp, if it works there ( I do not pvp on burg, too many skills do not work properly, and am unsure how stuns are modified for pvp).
It would be a difficult choice between the QK set or TG set, I do not know which I would rather have.
