oh..well.....

For every bad valentines meal, their is a mouth that'll expel it dramatically.
For every bunch of cheap flowers,their is a bin perfect for chucking them in
For every passionate 30 minutes of valentines love making, their is a sense of shame and 4 hours of crying.

I am also single and am perfectly happy with it, until the right bloke comes along.

As for me, when V-day rolls around, I know it's $TIME till DunDraCon (a small regional gaming convention in Northern California which whh and I help run), where $TIME can be anything from two-days-ago to ten-days-from-now, depending on when the Presidents' Day weekend falls that year. This year, it's next week, the 17th through 20th.

One year V-day fell smack dab in the middle of the con, and the hotel chain was heavily pushing Romantic Valentine Weekends in which all the hotels were supposed to participate. Our hotel rep, and the manager of the hotel we were in, managed to persuade top management that with 1500 gamers prowling the hallways, using every bit of function space and sleeping in ALL the hotel rooms, someone wanting to celebrate V-day there would not get "a genuine [name of hotel] experience."

The wife and I are too broke to celebrate but I'll still enjoy it with her. It'll be our 21st Valentine's Day together as man and wife.

Such tough times do bring people closer together. As a famous saying goes: Adversity is a greater teacher than prosperity

I once read an article somewhere that mentions how a loving couple's relationship was strained after they became successful. In other words, when the husband and wife were struggling to set up a restaurant, they were actually much happier back then. And i also read in another magazine that says in a global poll survey conducted over many countries shows that people are actually happier in less-developed modest poorer nations than the modern richer highly developed nations...

hmm...that is interesting indeed...

Personally, i think there is no point of having all the money power and fame in the world if u do not have family and friends or at the very least with that someone special, to share it with....

oh..well.... just my 2cents of thoughts...(^_^)
