Thread: Open Greek Chat Channel of Snowbourn (the review)

Hello all.


Just a quick refresh considering the open greek chat channel ''hellas'' (h) of our server. (h) was founded nearly 1 year ago by the leading team of Aegean Eagles, a hellenic kinship of Snowbourn and Gilrain servers. It was an initiative aiming to attract greek players outside of the kinship, so as to enforce the Aegeans raid squad, which was still quite active those days, as well as enlarge the server's greek community and simplify its communication. Nowadays, with the kinship being much less active raid wise comparing with how it used to be, mainly because of people (like myself) abandoning the kinship or going casual due to rl issues several months ago, the channel has been relatively inactive and certainly of much less usefulness to its members. Lately, i've been trying to get it up and running once again, the main goal being -in short terms- getting together with old friends who have rejoined the game or playing as casuals and meeting newcomers in order to help them out with improving their game and exploring the world of middle-earth. I'm aware of the fact there are a lot of helpless Greeks out there , members of casual kinships or even people that have trouble understanding the content and elaborating in English. As an old player i would be more than happy to help these players answering their questions, crafting for them, and generally getting to meet them better, while possibly, in the future, attempting some instancing/raiding with them. Note that with this post i am by no means trying to underestimate the role of Aegean Eagles, a Greek kinship still running and being a shelter for our server's Greeks. All i wanna do is see the Greek community, which is , from what i know, quite big here, flourish again.

Έλληνες του Snowbourn, γεια σας. Θέλω να σας ενημερώσω για την ύπαρξη ενός ανοιχτού ελληνικού καναλιού επικοινωνίας στον server μας, το οποίο για λόγους συντομίας και ευκολίας πρόσβασης ονομάζεται ''hellas'' (για να μπείτε πληκτρολογήστε ./joinchannel hellas χωρίς την τελεία στον κλασσικό chat κανάλι στο κάτω μέρος της οθόνης σας μόλις μπείτε στο παιχνίδι). Το κανάλι αυτό δημιουργήθηκε περίπου ένα χρόνο πριν, με πρωτοβουλία της ηγεσίας της ελληνικής kinship ''Aegean Eagles'' με στόχο να προσελκύσει αφενός Έλληνες παίκτες εκτός του kinship για να συμπληρώσει την ομάδα raiding των aegeans που εκείνο τουλάχιστον τον καιρό ήταν ιδιαίτερα ενεργή. Αφετέρου, σκόπευε να ενισχύσει και να συσπειρώσει την ελληνική κοινότητα του server μας, ώστε να βελτιώσει και να απλοποιήσει την μεταξύ μας επικοινωνία για θέματα που αφορούν τόσο το παιχνίδι όσο και την καθημερινότητα μας. Περί το καλοκαίρι, το κανάλι πέρασε σε μια κατάσταση ημιαφάνειας, αφού ελάχιστοι πλέον το χρησιμοποιούσαν, καθώς ελάχιστες δραστηριότητες μέσα στο παιχνίδι διοργανώνονταν μέσω αυτού, ενώ αρκετοί αγνοούσαν πλήρως την ύπαρξη του. Αποφάσισα, βλέποντας τους πολλούς ενεργούς Έλληνες παίκτες του server μας να προσπαθήσω να το ζωντανέψω λιγάκι ίσα ίσα για να ξανασμίξουμε οι παλιοί, να γνωριστούμε με τους καινούργιους, να συζητάμε και να αλληλοβοηθούμαστε στο παιχνίδι. Να σημειωθεί πως δε στοχεύω στην υπονόμευση του ελληνικού Kinship Aegean Eagles που ακόμα αποτελεί μια σταθερά για την ελληνική κοινότητα του server. Σας προσκαλώ να μπείτε στο κανάλι και σας προκαλώ να απευθυνθείτε σε μένα και τα άλλα παιδιά για τυχόν απορίες σας καθώς και όποια βοήθεια μπορούμε να σας παράσχουμε.



Sorry for the wall of text. But i figured it was about time someone put together a topic like that. Every foreigner is welcome to join, but don't expect us to change our habits my dear interesting multicultural strangers.
