On a side note, dogs are much better than most humans. Because dogs love you unconditionally.
Dogs love you because they love you. Dogs do not care if you are rich or poor, they will never forsake or leave you.

Of course, there are loyal and loving humans too. For example, we do watch or hear in the news of people sacrificing their own lives to rescue total strangers. Such acts of selflessness and bravery do exist as well....

Re: Brandywine Christian Kinship Recruiting New Members

Why is it necessary for a faith based kinship? I don't believe that this should be allowed. No faith plays a part in the lore (other than what the professor wrote into the background) and I resent some of the attitudes I have seen from people in some of these kinships (not this particular one). If you want to put the little fish on the back of your car, that is fine, but leave your beliefs out of my game and I will do the same for you (I am a heathen).

While I admit I'm perplexed myself and I would never join a kin based on faith only (notwithstanding the fact that I'm a practising Catholic), I say "why not?" As long as they are respectful (which seems the case) and do not antagonize other players based on their beliefs, they should be allowed to have fun together.

Why shouldn't it be allowed? If people are forming faith based groups so they can share aspects of their faith within their kin chat, kin events, etc... how is that putting our beliefs in your game? You don't see or hear it, so why should it bother you?

As far as why people join them... one reason is language. I know when I am grouped with my kin mates, I don't have to worry about my little ones hearing words I'd rather not have them exposed to.

I am sorry you've received ill treatment from some members of faith based kins, but that doesn't mean we're all bad, or that those are the only people acting likes jerks.

On another side note, in the tsunami-hit region of japan's fukashima province, there was a moving story of a dog that waited 30 days without food at the owner's house. And when the owners finally came back to the house after the radioactive condition of the town has stablised, the dog was very happy (but very weak from starvation, dehydration and hunger) and gently greeted and licked its owners for one last time before taking its final breath and died peacefully in their arms.

Therefore, if you are a pet owner, treat them well. Especially if your pet is dog. Because dogs indeed teach us the true meaning of unconditional love and unwavering loyalty. They do not care if you are rich or poor. They love you because they love you.

Re: Brandywine Christian Kinship Recruiting New Members

When the tsunami occured at Japan's Fukashima Sendai prefecture, a dog was washed out into the ocean with its rough choppy waters.

Despite being in such a difficult situation where no words can truely describe, the dog held on and did not give up HOPE.

This teaches us never to give up hope never despair.

    "We're afflicted but not crushed
    Perplexed but not in despair
    Persecuted but not forsaken
    Struck down but not destroyed."
    ~2Corinthians 4:8-9

"Light will flood your hearts and you will understand the Hope that is given." Ephesians1:18

Fortunately, the dog reunited with its owner after it was rescued.

Dog washed into sea by tsunami, then rescued and reunited with its owner:

Thumbs up Re: Brandywine Christian Kinship Recruiting New Members

The best & most efficient way to conserve the environment (and also save money by doing so), would be to change one's lighting at home.

Switching to energy-saving light bulbs such as LED or florescent bulbs not only saves money, it also saves the environment.

Here are 2 videos about such lights:

The fluorescent bulb (My personal preference due to availability and pricing):

CFL(Florescent light) vs LED light vs Incandescent light bulb(Ordinary lightbulb)

Lightbulb Re: Brandywine Christian Kinship Recruiting New Members

Good news for fans of the warm golden glow light!

There are many energy-efficient light bulbs that emit the warm glow light.

An example would be the philips (its box is labelled as "warm white") light bulb which emits the same yellow radiant glow as the ordinary yellow light bulb.

Here is the actual photo of it looks like:

Lightbulb Re: Brandywine Christian Kinship Recruiting New Members

Here are 5 reasons to switching to energy-efficient lighting

    1) Saves the environment (Smaller carbon footprint)
    2) Saves money (More food on the table)
    3) Less heat emitted (Energy saving bulbs release less heat, this matters if your bulb is located near you. E.g: table lamp)
    4) Look good (The warm glow florescent bulbs)
    5) Feel good (Why? Reason:All of the above)

If you want to put the little fish on the back of your car, that is fine, but leave your beliefs out of my game and I will do the same for you (I am a heathen).
And yet by this very post, you can't abide by your own demands. Voluntary kin, in a thread that clearly states what it is which you didn't have to click on; this is in no way part of your game. You actually had to go out of your way to get on this thread and push your negative comment into someone else's game.

Apart from the family definition of the word "kinship", the dictionary also proposes the following:
    Quote Originally Posted by Dictionary.com

A group of individuals who are like-minded in faith fits that definition perfectly. You relate to people who don't hold to a particular religious belief and they relate to those who do. This is no different than people who roll play a specific way having their own kin.

So, a suggestion comes to mind. Stay out of someone else game if you don't like it.

    No hard feelings...

    It's okay....

Because feeling hate or bitterness towards anyone who cause hurt is like drinking poison and expecting that person to perish. There is no point in doing so. Also, just like what Jesus said: "There is no point in only loving people who love you, because they already love you and so there is less meaning and less reward in only loving people who love you. Instead, Love your enemies. Forgive them.

On a side note, in the movie titanic, Jack Dawson said: ""Well, yes, ma'am, I do... I mean, I got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count. "

    So life is precious....

    Make each day count...

If life is a garden, family and friends are its flowers....
