This game is AMAZING!!! this is not my 1st MMO I have played WoW, DCUO, SWTOR and Rift and I just have to say this game blows them out of the water for me. Whats so great about LOTRO compared to those others games well for me it's the community and sense of immersion into the game world, coming from games like WoW and Star Wars they are fun games but the community's are full of jerks and trolls however in this game I can ask a question in a chat channel without being trolled to death, everyone I have met is super nice and helpful. The world of middelearth truly sucks you in and gives you a sense of adventure. I just made level 20 today pn my elf hunter and I found a nice kinship to join with some real life friends, I truly wish I had started playing this game years ago. Thank you LOTRO community for all your help and I look forward to playing with you for years to come.

The game is amazing and that's how I feel too. I feel like there is so much content out there and I'm so far behind everyone else and now there is another expansion coming out raising the level cap to 85 and I have a long journey ahead of me....a long, but incredibly fun journey!
I just hope I can get to the current level cap before the new expansion comes out!

Welcome to LOTRO! And I'm glad you feel that way about the game =) There's tons to see and do, places to explore and stories to unfold, so saddle up and enjoy the ride Btw, what server do you play on?
Well it's a good thing you like the game, because if you post anything you don't like about it, you're a WoW fanboy and your opinions never mattered anyway.
Haven't met this great community yet; I asked in-game if a certain quest was bugged (tried it three times, couldn't finish it) and got quite a few "if you can't even do something that simple you might as well quit playing, what a noob" type responses. I'm still catching a ton of #### for posting about how the game wouldn't download properly for me, because apparently the game won't work if it detects WoW-fanboyism on a computer.
I see lots of "this is awesome!" reviews like yours, I just don't know if maybe we're playing a different game.
Edit: And before someone says "If you get rude answers then you're asking rude questions", I said "anyone know if [x quest] is bugged, I can't collect the last item to finish it". I can't see how that only elicited derogatory, smart-aleck responses in the wonderful community.

I am sorry to see your experience hasn't been as positive as the OP's but I would like to point out that for the most part we do have a very well mannered community. I have played WoW, GW, SWTOR and a few others, but for me, this community is the friendliest I have experienced.
Nevertheless, we do have our share of undesirables as all gaming communities have them, I just think we have less of them than others. If you give our community some time I think you will find most of us to be quite helpful and courteous when responding to the questions of others.
Heres hoping your next gaming experience with us is a more positive one!

I'd like to say thank you for all the responses I am on the realm Windfolia ( prob spelled that wrong ) and I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience with this game. I guess maybe it helps since I came here because of real life friends who just started playing and they helped me get into there kinship. I also had no problems with down loading the game but do wish you the best of luck if you decide to stay with lotro
As long as you advance you will find this and that cons, thats normal. But your first reactions is because this game "has something", more than the the story and the name we all know. Not many games can say that.

What quest were you on? Maybe some one here can help. Also, check to see if it is ment for a small fellowship or group. You can so this by opening up the quest log and along the tom there to the right of the quest level it will say small-fellowship of group.

Lets see 3 posts all complaints about how bad it is so I am sure you were not as polite in game as you suggest.

There are still jerks in this game. Every MMO has them. Also, don't let anyone discourage you from stating your true opinion. I've been around here since they opened the doors and I still have my complaints. If someone calls you a "WoW fanboy" for that then that just highlights their ignorance. We do have a great community but, sadly, we do have some jerks as well. It can't be avoided but I think if you kept at it you would find the help you need.
