    Need Experience Healing

I'd like to get some experience healing instances before I hit 75 and am clueless. If anyone has toons around the 30-40 level range and theyd like to run some instances/skirmishes send me an ingame mail or tell. I'd like to get practice healing groups before I get thrown into healing raids and ultrafail from complete cluelessness! Thanks my Nimrodians!

    Re: Need Experience Healing

I think in general, it's tough to get grouping experience in a more mature MMO at lower levels. I pretty much soloed my Guardian to 75. Learned (some, still learning) of how to tank in instances/raids at cap.

Fortunately, the 12 person raid skirms are run fairly regularly on this server. That's a perfect way to get your feet wet in a forgiving way. There will likely be at least one more healer, and they're short. Not like you're wiping the raid on Draigoch in phase 3 if you mess up.

Drop Warspeech and experiment with healing your soldier in solo skirms. Learn how and when to tier up ballads, use Codas and Anthems. etc.

Skirms are a perfect way indeed. Another option would be to heal lower level instances, for lower level groups. I don't know what lvl you are, but if you're 40 -50 healing GB's and GA's would be great practice and I am sure a lot of lower level groups would love to have a high level with them, for the bigger heals.

Just as a quick aside, I've always preferred the term "Nimrods" to "Nimrodians", though I AM a fan of Nimgreedo from Nimstarwars.

you could run some garth agarwen (GA). it's a lvl32 instance with two 3mans, and a 6man available.
when you hit around 52-54 or so, try to run a bunch of grand stair dailies (GS). those are your best bets for group content before 75

    Re: Need Experience Healing

I would echo this sentiment that it's difficult to get experience in healing groups. I leveled an RK to 75 just recently and am just now learning how to heal in group instanced (read spam Mending Verse to the tank) You can try to run around with kin on quests, maybe run with higher levels just so aren't pulling agro off them, or similar levels of kin. YOu can also see who is questing in the area and see if you can fellow with them, let them know you are wanting practice with healing.

Kind of out there, but you could get your skirm soldier to be a protector, and then run skirms focusing on healing him... not sure how effective it would be, but a thought.

    Re: Need Experience Healing

I'm always doing things all over either Eriador or Moria. And as a tank, usually soloing unless I'm trying to get a group for something, I could always use a healer to just follow me around and gimme heals as I plow through whatever the hell I'm doing. I could help you accomplish some questing you need to do, and we could finish Volume 1 or anything you want. Hit me up with a tell in-game or a post here when you see me around. I'm in-game usually Monday through Friday between the hours of 9AM central US time to 5PM central US time except on Thursdays where I stay until almost 10 my time. Keep in mind I also work and go to class too, but tend to stay in middle-earth a decent amount of time. LOL...

    Re: Need Experience Healing

First of all I would like to say that I like the term "Nimrodellian" But that's just me! LOL

I think that all these posts are great ideas... Me, I would join a kinship based on the fact that they have a diverse amount of characters of different levels. Also, make sure that the kin is helpful and could use another healer that they could depend on. Also keep in mind that most of the questing (except for fellowships/skirms/epics) is set for solo running at least until you get to araound level 45 and start your journey on legendary traits.

/lff as often as you can for 3 man and 6 man fellowship quests/skirms. Being a healer you may get a bite or two! Now, I don't want to scare you off but, I have witnessed some ppl blaming their wipes inquest on the healer! But if they all know there tasks and do them like a team - that problem will go away, and you will be placed up on a pedestal and thanked profusely! (Especially when you revive them)

I hope I have been of some help, too! Good Luck and Happy Healing!

    Re: Need Experience Healing

I made friends with a cappy, and ran duo skirms to learn to heal. Cappy and I both had warrior soldiers, plus his herald, giving me 4 targets to heal. Not too much damage coming in, it did get a little boring at times, but it let me get the basics without over-stressing me.

    Re: Need Experience Healing

I didn't do much healing myself until I hit Moria. GS always needs a healer of some description. Fortunately, I was doing that back when 65 was the cap and GS ran about 357 billion times a day. So yeah, I learned how to be the healer in Moria instances, but as others have said, 12-man skirm-raids are a good way to learn too. Sometimes you'll get a raid leader who isn't fussy about you being lower than 75, which is helpful.
