Thread: Instance Finder dead on Withywindle?

Last week I tried to find any 3man or 6man run with instance finder. I've been waiting a couple of hours each time and nothing, not one match. Does anyone use it at all?

People use it all the time, but they enter it with a full fellowship. As a Guardian you should not have problems finding a fellowship on Globallff. If you dont know globallff, someone in your kin should explain it to you.

For the moment the instance finder is not very usefull since it puts u in a randm encounter with random people (that could even be on your ignore list). So as Vandervahn said its best use is to enter with a fellowship for the bonuses. They promised a completed instance finder in update 6 so we will need to see what it offers. And ofc if nobody uses it it surely wont work since it needs a pool of constant queing people.

I thought in the recent patch they changed IF to not pick people from your ignore list?

Still don't use it, if there's nothing going from the kin, it's much easier to PUG from Global, then at least you get to see who you're running with.

yes, It's dead, I've tried it 3 times for 1 hour. Never worked.

The good news is that in update 6 there will be no more instance join, no more reflectin pool or succh, only instance finder. So any who wants to join an instance will have to get queued. But i suppose it will not make a good job finding a say.....level 55 Greab Barrows or level 50 school lib. But any popular instance it will find. I only hope on other servers people use it, at least for the sake of turbine getting some input to work on.

It is useless for a dps class and it will never work as there is a shortage of healers and tanks.

To use Instance Finder look for a team on globalff and then use it.

I'd have to agree from a dps point of view. Buil up your rep as a player and you'll have a lot easier finding people for groups. However, IF people would actually use the finder it could be very useful, but then again you'd probably end up doing the same stuff over and over again

I guess they will keep the bonus if u choose the random option. Thats the core goal of it, to throw us into random content and reward us if we are willing to..

I use it when I play duo skirmish or foundry t2 or 3-man isen and so far working good but I use when i already have fellow, ofc is to slow to get somebody random.

I think it would be faster if we can choose certain instances, and if we see how much people are already waiting for certain instance.

To summon up : I think it was an bad idea from turbine making the Instance finder , because Ww is an small server lol and u cant expect finidng an group in 1 min Maybe The IF works on other servers dunno . And who use the IF pls? Do you really want that small buff xD ? ON games like Wow the IF works perfect , cuz they are many players Its easier to ask in Global in withy for an group then waiting long time lol

Its a good idea, its just not finished yet. The only thing IF cannot do on a server like Withy is serve you a group on a platter. This might change when one can choose the instances to go in.

No, people want 50% more marks and medallions - in case you missed that. A Foundry T2 via instance finder gives 460 medallions, which is enough for a Greater empowerment scroll. without instance finder, you have to run it twice.

It works in WoW because the tool is cross-server. And seriously, please cut down on smileys and lols

Again i say: when there will be only instance finder maybe things will change. And Turbine said that in the far future they are considering a cross server tool. But at the moment lets wait for update 6.

no, i agree i hope they make a cross server tool, as withy is such a small server

The turbine development team announced already during the IF release that it was a work in progress and not a finished product. Personally I think the idea behind IF is great, all that is needed are some adjustments and tweaks, but that will be added already in update 6.

There is well-known quote that goes well with the development of Instance Finder:

A designer knows he has achieved perfection, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

If For example in my opinion an RF would be good= Raid finder , It might be an try for turbine :=)

Think the IF's only found me 1 or 2 actual instances, I suspect thats partly down to those being tied into questpacks people dont have while levelling.

Does a better job on the skirmishes although if I do check the solo option it loves to dump me into a t2 icy crevasse, unpleasant for a mini I find. Some nights get faster results than others and sometimes the same grouping gets more than just the one skirmish. Never hurts to ask if folk are up for more if the one you just did went ok.

Not played wow since last year but the finder there worked pretty well until you ended up with tank or heal capable classes selecting that role as an option to jump the queue then either refusing or being unable to do the job they signed up for.

The Instance Finder is getting a big revamp in Update 6 and lots improvements are coming our way. The first, and most requested change, is that you will be able to choose which skirmish/instance you want to play. It is no longer random.

The second change which is coming, is that you can change the loot-rule, you can cast a vote to simply change it. Another feature is that players who are your ignore list, will not be added to the fellowship together with you.

I think that the new IF will be a greater tool for all of us, to find instances, and players, quicker.

After all, most of the server population does not know/use "globallff" (only about a hundred people are active there daily) and the Instance Finder which is available for anyone, at any time, doesn't need the use of a user created chat-channel to find players.

Devs also said they are working to make IF work cross-servers, not in this update but in the future

Seeing the new IF on BR i can only agree. This is a lot of improvement to the current IF. It's also an improvement to the "join panel" that we have now so i'm really looking forward to it.

After its released, I'll try to sneak up in the foundry group as overpower guard dps and see if group will kick me for not running proper dps class
