Two nice "extra" things I'd like: skirmishes and more scaling
There are two things I hope happen with this expansion... Beyond all of the new cool stuff, there are two "extra" things I hope to see with this expansion.
1.) Don't forget about skirmishes. I'm still kind of surprised that RoI didn't have a single one. It would have been a really great way to grind out the last of the reputation in Dunland, as opposed to relying on a handful of (forced solo) repeatables and some tasks.
I really hope the new areas have their own new skirmishes. I'd be happy if one or two were added to Dunland to boot.
2.) Please scale more instances. Scaling some of the stuff that remains could effectively double the amount of stuff people have to do at any given level. It'd be significant. There are some cool things that I think a lot of people miss out on now because we just level past it. I think there's still room to just let people get marks, etc from these and still keep the coolest, newest stuff relegated to the coolest, newest instances and raids.
I also hope any new instances are created with scaling in mind. Once scaling was adopted, I was surprised to see new instances come out that weren't made for scaling.
All of this other new stuff sounds great already, but I hope these things aren't forgotten.

yes, very much needed!
having started Lotro with F2P, there are quite a few instances i havent run (moria has some) because I hastened by busy leveling and enjoying the Solo-PvE, taking the fun out of doing them now at no challenge.
Re: Two nice "extra" things I'd like: skirmishes and more scaling
I would disagree. I find skirmishes terribly boring and they're a cheap way for Turbine to "add" more content. I don't care for the current reliance on them in terms of using marks from them to buy items you can't get any other way.
Scaling old instances is one thing but don't you dare touch the Rift. As much as I would love to see that instance scaled I fear that it means Turbine would split it up the way they split up (butchered) Helegrod.

For me skirmishes are very boring but a few new ones should be there for the folks who do enjoy them , scaling yeah why not but not at the expense of new content/pvp/housing/fixing the broke stuff , also the rift was great yeah and why not scale it am sorry but folk who complain of the splitting up etc of it are just a little too romanic of something that was/is the best lotro raid stuff changes keep calm and move on .

Touching the Rift at all runs the chance of it going from being the best LOTRO raid to it being garbage. There's a storyline to the Rift, just as there was to Helegrod before it was split, and splitting it up cheapens that. If they want to allow the exact same mobs in the Rift to scale up that's something I would be ok with. What I would not be ok with is splitting it up into what amounts to a few skirmishes, which is all I feel that Helegrod has become.

If the scaled the rift great wotever better if it was one big riad not an issue to me if its split , and i'll tellyou one thing half the folk who say they wouldnt go near a split up rift raid would be raiding it and the other half nobody is forcing you to go there and for me personally if anything is getting ruined its letting a great raid like the rift being stuck at lvl 50

To each his own. I'm not going to endlessly debate you over this since clearly you have your own stance on it, regardless of the "50%" figures that you're making up with no statistics to back you.
My opinion on it is that we do not need more boring skirmishes and scaling up old instances is fine so long as they stop splitting up the ones that I feel do not need to be split up: Uru, Carn Dum, and the Rift being the ones that come to mind.

I'd love CD, Uru, Fornost, etc to be scaled through the level cap. I'd love to see more skirmishes. These are my opinions, everyone has them.
When it comes to skirmishes, Turbine I'm sure has tons of data concerning what portion of the playerbase runs them how often. I'm guessing that the more popular skirmishes are among the player base as a whole, the more new skirmishes we will see this year.

It's OK if some find skirmishes boring, but they're still in the game and I think a system that should continue be supported rather than forgotten. I think they're quite fun with a group personally and I know many who play them. I don't think doing a couple of strong skirmishes in the next expansion is going to radically ruin anything someone else thinks is more fun.
PS -- Whoever gave me negative rep for that post, it's not meant for you just disagreeing with me. It implies (outright states, actually) that I did something bad or inflammatory lol
