Wow! What can I say? I made all this big talk about coming back to RM moors and having fun like old times. I am so naive. Moors creepside is unplayable. Well, that is to folks who don't have daddy issues and can walk away from abuse at first sight. I give all creeps mad props for continuing to fight the war, though. This new batch of freeps out there is just a waste of time. Even some of the vets have gone feral like a pleasant sow that spent too long in the wild after escaping a farmer's pens.
I played on 2 primetime nights and there was ZERO action to be had. I roamed the map for four hours today and only came across a few solo freeps. Only one of them, Dumptruck, did not immediately run into npc's or a zerg or had a veteran player ruin my 1v1 with them. Props, Dtruck, only one hunter on this server is better than you. I am surprised the freep veterans who have an idea of what good pvp is has jumped aboard the zergtrain. If only there were no npc's in the moors.
Now when I say "ZERO action", I am not referring to OC/EC staring contests. I steer clear from those places and only visit them out of desperation. I was so desperate for inf I even turned in a few Isen quests. How does that make you feel? I would rather go to Isen than to die to an already OP freep surrounded by other OP freeps and a ton of npc's. I have no problem dying in a pvp zone...so long as I die from PvP and not ezmode zerglings. I actually chased a grdn from grothum to OR yesterday. He wouldnt turn and fight. He ran and popped cd's in that whole time. The same grdn ran from me from BV to GV then had his zerg kill me. He then cj'd me lmao. There is no class in the moors anymore. No class...
Creeps! I hate to do the Nancy Reagan, but "Just Say No!" You should park your creeps for good. A boycott of a sort. When freeps get bored and cry to the devs, they will get their attention, hopefully. I don't see how you put up with this during the last patch. I can't stand getting destroyed by fail players. Players that have no business looking down at my corpse. I hope you guys get your promised land after you wander through this desert.

I just log when it gets ridiculous. Any crits over 3k=no more renown given. If I ever see a creep crit for over 3k I might hang around. Indeed it might be wise to have creeps just leave, I suspect 2012 will have a great deal of new MMo's there will be ample alternatives.
Moors is essentially another PvE zone, its not the freeps fault either. Their OP is a design overflow from the PvE game (uncapping of stats). They know it, any one of them who tells you otherwise is a liar (job waiting for them at turbine, lol).
Problem here is Turbine lies to its customers so even if the freeps complain they wont get told the truth anyway. Still, you can scout the lumber camp thats 125 DP!!!!

Not a crit, but if I play long enough I can see at least one dev per day of 3k+. Here are two screenshots showing what I usually get out of Vital Target in 1v1's (not as good as Heart Seeker...):
Right Click -> View Image to Maximize to 1920x1200
For people who are curious, here is Revenge from the night of the second picture. Now you can all see the full spike damage that BA's really see, unlike the 5.5k+ Vital Target and 4k Revenges that freeps in Monster Player forum claim to see "all the time."

I agree. Creeps need some love, badly. Personally, I think creeps should be the over powered ones. Like little mini bosses out there that take a couple freeps to kill. Right now it is just no fun chasing creeps into TA or Lugz and then sit within there npcs to force them to fight us. We shouldnt have to force anyone to fight us. You guys should be having the same fun we are and WANT to jump into the fray with us.
Let me propose something to you Flesh instead of you quitting. How about we set up, as best we can, balanced fights. Like we can get together and start a gvg pvp event or something. It may take some time to hash out what is fair and balance and what is not, but i am willing to put in the effort if it will make the moors a better place.
I would really like to try out some ideas I have had for scenario stuff, like toon protection (keeping a certain toon alive), king of the hill, ambush, etc.
Lol, I saw you yesterday, and somehow i completely forgot you hadn't been on for a long time, it came completely natural to me that you were camping GV
Hope you'll give it another try though, might have been one of those people who ran to 1-shotters cause i didn't wanna die.
Warg: Chak 75 Lore-Master: Utriel 75 Burglar being leveled

Thats awesome! I'd love to see more criticals from creeps that match freep crits. Regardless once it gets silly with the big crits from freeps (not their fault its turbines for the uncapping stats for PvE) I log or go solo some PvE stuff. Wasting time is a crime (IMHO), playing lotro PvP as a creep is often one.
Hey, thanks guys. I am quick to anger and am a slave to my emotions. I say what I feel and don't care what others think. Too often this has bitten me in the rear. I am my own worse enemy lol. I probably won't quit creepside. I just happened to land on a weekend of suck is all. I like what you are proposing, Altogo. If we can set a standard and start bringing a bit more class to the moors, maybe others will follow suit. I appreciate the kind words, guys.
I will be working on an alt and you guys will see me again. Sorry for the rants. My post does hold water, though. Freeps and creeps need to stop hugging npc's and come out to fight. Don't zerg. Show respect. You need your enemy.
Hope you'll give it another try though, might have been one of those people who ran to 1-shotters cause i didn't wanna die.
That's the problem, people like you who don't want to die and blow EVERY CD to stay alive in groups.

Like I said in another thread, we'll have to duo and show them how to PvP. They won't stand a chance.

I'm with Rubi. This is part of the problem. So many people worried about dying that they fail to grasp the FUN of pvp.
I can't tell you how many times I've overextended myself outside a raid attempting to get a kill. It normally ends in failure, but I keep coming back because it's fun. It fails to become fun when one side has almost solely resorted to the zerg, gank, etc.
This is why I don't even pvp anymore. freep or creep. things haven't changed.

Don't give up just be smarter; use more tactics- flank them, Zerg one target, bring the fight to neutral npcs (cows, polar bears, drakes etc). You may die more as a creep but you also get kills. Most of the freeps on this server (and most other servers) are just mindless zergbots and lemmings; they can't think for themselves, most need a leader to tell them what to do and how to do it. As a creep you need to capitalize on it and show no mercy.
As for me, I can't wait to finish ranking my freeps then go creep side almost full time.
Track my foe. Run after my foe. Blinders on to all around me. Close in on my foe. Get blown up tring to get to my foe. Rez out, run back, track my foe. Run after my foe. Blinders on to all around me. Close in on my foe. Kill my foe. Get blown up for killing my foe.
Its a vicious cycle. I long ago gave up caring for my survival. In the spirit of PvMP, is not the point to kill, or be killed killing? Lot of peeps call those of us who throw ourselves at the masses as suicidal. Stupid. Feeding free infamy/reknown. I say how the hell can I get infamy/reknown if I dont at least try? Indeed. Flesh, there are still pocket fighters, freeps who care not for their livelihoods. And there are still creeps like that too. The Chef, Doc and Healacreep showed me a better way on creepside, like I was shown and showed others on freepside. I dont fault freeps (myself included) for being overpowered. It is, like many stated before me, the product of pve gear, stats and all around bad assedness. Gone are the days, in my opinion, where a freep either had it, or didnt. 13 months ago when I was starting out, freeps could usually tell right off the bat if they had what it took to make a living in the moors. Bah, I dont care too much for statisctics and numbers. I know little about the intricacies and nuances of virtues and traits. What I do know is how to have a good time, and a large part of that involves dying.
Get busy living, or get busy dying. Your dam right.
I want to thank Frost on creepside for asking me whatever happened to my grand opening-grand closing thread in ooc. You have opened my eyes. I want to thank the warg gashur(i think) for interrupting my 1v1. You have opened my eyes. I just want to let you guys know the I have deleted my mains on RM ensuring that I won't return. Death and Fleshstorm are now up for grabs. Thanks to all who have shown me kindness. Thanks to all who have displayed courage on the fields. I wish you all the best....for real this time. lmao
i personally cant play creepside steady anymore, the moors is 2 crzy and will drive u crzy if u do lol. so im personally taking a break from creepside for a short time, playing my freep and getting him geared (i normally hate PvE, but its not so bad 4 some reason) but will see me back in the moors soon enough, possibly on my freep, plan on showing some ppl the fun of soloing or duoing in the moors, so if u see me wandering with another freep bring a lil group 2 fight us
I hear ya brother. Me and a few others are takng a little break from the game. Ill be in DDO, my first love. Should be creepside some, and freepside for raids, but certainly taking a much needed hiatus

i hear ya. i hear ya too, flesh. the moors have been frustrating for me when i do go out there. seems every time i go out the standard oc shuffle is in full effect. booooooring. so i wander solo or duoed with scup and find nothing most of the time and leave. if i happen on chance to stumble on a 1v1 circle i can have some fun for a bit but i miss having real decent sized and close battles between grps. i can only imagine creepside echos my recent experiences out there (or is worse due to being on the bad side of the oc shuffle). i have been burned out on the moors but i have been before and been reinvigorated but idk if i can do such again in the current state of the battlefield. i will still go out there but chances are i when i do i won't be out for long. on the bright side though, being frustrated with the moors has given me time to commit to actually leveling up an alt. hopefully by the time the moors improves (i think it will as it has always been fluid) my cappy will be ready and i will be refreshed and will enjoy myself out there like i used too.

A break would be good. For myself, I'm going to be sticking around. Maybe playing some FPS or Strategy games a little more and LOTRO a little less, but I still love LOTRO and will be staying around. Probably PvPing less, but I'll be levelling my Landy alts and working Dollas/Nadhuil towards cap here on Ridder.
Only one of them, Dumptruck, did not immediately run into npc's or a zerg or had a veteran player ruin my 1v1 with them. Props, Dtruck, only one hunter on this server is better than you.
That's because Dumptruck is LBF, so of course he's a beast and puts other freeps to shame. Every toon of his whether creep or freep is awesome and played in the same way. Respect always to LBF. <3

I remember when that was always, 100% of the time, me you were targeting. Fun times.

And that's why you will always be loved by us... and why it was never aggravating to have you continually pew pewing me. Plus it was just funny watching you get blowed up whenever you did.
Moors, as always, needs more "suicidal" people on both sides who spend more time trying to have fun and get a kill and less time running scurred and QQing. But then, Moors is serious business!

Suddenly, everything makes sense...
I thought LBF had left lol.
I remember, what seemed not too long ago, that I really couldn't wait to get into the Moors every day. Now I go to the Moors and just can't seem to find the old magic that made Riddermark PVP so special. At one time RM PVP was so special that other freeps and creeps desired to transfer here...now RM is no better than the other servers...
I will probably still be out in the Moors, but not quite as much; not that I will be missed in the least. I am thinking of spending time building my champ and getting him geared. Or, as soon as I can afford it, I will go check out SWOTR.
I have been playing LOTRO since the stress test and purchased a lifetime/founders subscription before the game went public. I don't like the idea of wasting my subscription, but LOTRO in its entirety is starting to get pretty lame. It was great when Turbine actually gave a rat's backside about customer satisfaction.
I know I am hoping on a loosing proposition that Turbine will wake up some day and create a PVP world par excellence....maybe someday...
Stars...We don't need no stinking Stars!

Idk about the second part, but it could be awhile on the first part....
Either way, you should stop back in for awhile.
I'm pretty convinced both parts are unlikely to occur. Perhaps some day in the distant future when hell freezes over.
I pop in every now and then just to say hi to the people I love, but can't bring myself to actually play. I walk out of Grams, see the same old lameness and walk back inside and just chat with people. I think I've actually PvPed once in the past couple of months and the only reason it was any good is because I got to run with my 2 favorite reaver boys again. It blew hard, but Chef and I joining up with Rubi for the old threesome again was FABULOUS.
I'll keep an eye out for you next time I pop on to say hi. Maybe I can toss you a Slick Flesh as you head out of Grams, that's about all the effort I can put into PvP in LOTRO.

Riddermark used to be a very unique server. We had something I'd liken to an organized society. We had the PVE raiders, the PVP soloers (who occasionaly raided), the 1v1ers, we had Aza and Adino, and we all knew everybody. We had alot of regulars, and all you had to do is see a characters name and you knew right away exactly how the fight would go. The action never really stopped, but towards the evening the action really picked up. Sometimes it was big 1v1 circles, or GVGs, defending/taking keeps, or the massive RVR battles. We had it all. We had 1v1 ethics and a generally well known combat ethic. I could run around unstealthed without much concern, and would often do it just so that any soloers around could spot me and give me a fight.
Of course, we got tired of the zerglings. We got tired of the sometimes constant PVE. We got tired of the ganks, the 1v1 interruptions, etc. We got tired of the raid babies who couldn't fend for themselves. And we took it all; good bad and ugly, to the forums. Used to be the 1v1 thread was updated daily, all we saw was threads complaining about or calling out other players and their actions whether good or bad, and I could always look forward to atleast one post to chuckle at.
Everything has changed. It's anarchy out there. Even some of the vets I used to call respectable have now joined in on the free-for-all. Now, I rarely see posts calling out other players, because it's so commonplace now. All I see is one vet after another leaving, and everyone is complaining about Turbines customer service(which I would agree with).
I know we used to wish things would improve and change Pre-ROI, but now I wish those days would return. Sorry for the wall of text. /long speech off

Iggy pretty much nailed it for me. RM is now that hot chick we dated back in the day and she was fun to be with. Now she has 6 kids and is a meth-head. Not ever going to be like it used to be. I severed my ties here. This is my last post on RM. If yall wanna say hi come to Crickhollow. I am starting a new burg named Casino. I am playing a new warg named Murder. These will be my only toons as I have no desire to alt like I used to. Crickhollow is the quaint old country town where everyone is a lot more mellow. I will be there till swtor endgame picks up in about a year. Farewell, maggots! I wish you all well.
Every server goes through its lulls and downtimes which usually happens between updates. I bet most people are either playing other games or levelling alts.
Nothing wrong with Riddermark, the vets will come back as always. The sky is not falling.

You have acquired a new Legendary Trait: Doomsayer
You predict that the sky shall fall, fearing all opponents within the Ettenmoors. 50% chance of sky falling, killing all players and NPCs within the Ettenmoors. CD: 24 hours. If Sky actually falls: Forget about it, RIP

Just google'd and saw some screenies... you're right, it does look pretty BA. I'll look into it.
