Shadow Company, a veteran guild founded upon a mercenary theme by Commander Bugbig in 2004, we are a light RP guild with a focus on a drama free enviroment based around: Loyalty, Honor, and Respect and above all else...FUN!

What Shadow Company is:

1) ACTIVE: We maintain an active kinship from the top down starting with the division Captain and his/her Officers and administration. You will find events, RP sessions, hunts, raids and server wide event sessions to be planned and executed often.

2) ORGANIZED: Organization and stability are two of our greatest strengths as a Kinship with a strong real life military background amongst the leadership of Shadow Company, maintaining structure and course have always been adhered too. You will find the Company to have an extensive background of protocol and operating procedures in place as to eliminate any confusion in regards to guild style, culture and regulations.

3) BALANCED: Shadow Company is a guild of moderation! We see each aspect of the game as a part to the whole, as such you will find that we enjoy the components of the MMO equally, from crafting to questing, from RP to raiding we enjoy and do it all!

4) MATURITY: Shadow Company has always catered to an "older crowd" and while age does not always equal maturity we adhere to an 18+ rule with the average age of our members in the 25-50 range.

5) PATIENT: We take our time in regards to guild procedures and recruitment, Shadow Company is not a "pick-up" guild we have an extensive application, probation and interview process to help "weed" out those that lack patience and motivation.


What Shadow Company is NOT:

1) A HARDCORE...ANYTHING...GUILD: We do not cater to those seeking a focus on one sole area of the MMO, we are not a raid guild nor are we an RP guild. Our emphasis is on the person behind the keyboard more then anything else...as opposed to ingame accomplishments. Instead we seek out like-minded, fun oriented adults.

2) LEET: we are not a leet style guild, we are based off common sense and maturity if you are out to be the most "uber" player then SC is not right for you. If you greet others with "Yo, Sup, etc" we are likely not for you.

3) TRY OUT GUILD: We place alot of emphasis on finding members that are a near perfect fit for our style and culture, if you are seeking a guild to "try out" for a while then move on we are not for you. We understand that sometimes things just are not a good fit but we do our best to ensure a match between our current membership and new applicants.


YOU may be a fit with Shadow Company if...

1) You enjoy light RP in an RP encouraged but not enforced environment

2) You not only like to have fun but you ALSO enjoy enabling the fun of others

3) Do not tolerate nor start drama

4) Enjoy participating in group functions such as questing and events

5) Respect and enjoy a no pressure enviroment in which you understand everyone enjoys the game in different ways

ive had the honor of Rp with Captain Bugbig and SC and they are without a doubt one of the finer additions to Antonia Bayle server, glad to see them here too

I remember Bugbig and SC from EQ2. I had the pleasure of interacting with them on several occasions. Bugbig runs a tight ship. Quality guild...err Kinship Welcome to Landroval!

Special thanks to those that posted from the Antonia Bayle Server-EQ2. It always warms my cold, mercenary heart to hear from friends from other virtual lands.

Yes Shadow Company is forming a Troop here in LOTRO and I must say we are having quite a bit of fun in this world concieved by J.R.R. Tolkien and realized by the staff of Turbine.

And although we have a very strong core of players coming from our EQ2 and Vanguard troop we do enjoy getting to know new friends and adventurers to welcome to our ranks. So if you want to get in on the ground floor of a kinship that focuses on fun and provides a haven for the type of niche player we seek, by all means post on our LOTRO recruiting desk forum and/or send a tell to me or one of my officers.

((Heya bossman. Tamlyn here glad to see you guys landed =D I did a stint in VSoH it grew on me over a couple weeks while LoTRO won my heart on log in. I would have loved to ya guys but I found a real nice but small kinship in The Grey Company. If you guys EVER need anything please feel free to look me up in Traithe, Donuil, Belerand, Thrordin, or Meriadas. There has been a few nice mixers in the game already and I have gotten more RP out LoTRO compared to VSoH ever.))

My interactions with SC were very limited on AB but your reputation is as solid as any I've known. If the Captain and his sell-swords have made their home here on Landroval, I can rest assured I've chosen a good server.

However, how many ppl do you have during the off peak times? I play from around 4am - 7am est US time. would there be ppl to play with during that time?

Officially we are a US Central (-6 GMT) guild. What that means is the largest playtimes for our members typically are 5pm-Midnight Eastern M-F and anytime really on the weekends. With that said we do have members that live in Sweeden, London, and Australia to name a few but if your goal is to have a solid playbase at 4am-7am Est I suspect there are better kinships out there for you.

Thank you for your post. And yes we have found a rather exciting and and profitable world to explore. Recruiting is going well and we already have a fun, helpful LOTRO kinship community of adventurers with plenty of opportunities to do guild groups, help eachother out with quests/crafting, and just have some mature folks to chat with in kinship.

On our forums I posted some screenshots and we also have a section on LOTRO resources (maps, etc) as well as some game tips and tricks. So whether you are looking for a kinship or not feel free to come by our keep and visit (URL below).

I knew it. I just knew when I saw someone with the "Shadow Company" that it was THE Shadow Company I knew in good ol' EQ2.

That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

I am glad you posted about your Kinship. I will definately stop by your website and check it out and post an application.

I have recently been a victim of inner kinship drama whereby the officer who recruited me and the original founder had some conflict - the founder quit the new kinship leader booted the other officer and anyone recruited associated with him.

So out on the cobblestone streets again - not a problem for Wulfbur since this burgler has spent the better part of her life alone and wandering the back alleys looking for opportunites to survive.

I also can appreciate the non cussing portion as with families and children about.

One question though (since I am a State government employee and guild portal is a blocked site) does your kinship play EST - my play time is usually M-F averging between 5-8pm sometimes 10 and a lot more on Saturday's and Sunday's.

I just want to say that I had the opportunity to group with one of your members last night and was thoroughly impressed. Although he'd already done the quests in the Shire which my minstrel was having trouble completing, he offered to join me and help out. He was patient, very helpful and a good companion in a fight. My bounder's cap is off to this Hobbit, Everbald, and to Shadow Company in general. Well done.

Indeed. Shadow Company has active commissions in eq2 Antonia Bayle server, Vanguard: Saga of heroes Floryndal server, and now LOTRO Landroval server. All are running strong and with good people.

Thank you for the feedback on one of our members. It is this type of feedback and community awareness/involvement that pleases me more than any other ingame "accomplishment".

Also as an update SC is doing quite well in these new lands. As of this writing we have 40 unique members with a good mix of members from SC Vanguard, SC EQ2, and new adventurers we have met in these lands.

Our newest members include some folks many of you good EQ2 AB folks may know, Redbeard (now known as Redlaw) and his lovely wife Kesha, founders and guild leader of the highly respected EQ2 guild, Veritas. And although SC has always had an older gaming crowd to include some in their 60s, we recently have recruited an 80 years old (yes 80!!) gamer that is a former Navy Aircraft Pilot. So all our 40 and 50 year olds are feeling rather like young pups, heh!

So thank you again for all the kind words in the above posts and as always I wish you much power and profit in your adventures!

Your guild sounds amazing and your website has some great screenies. I live in central time zone however, I usually play mornings and some afternoons. Being a mom, its easier to play then because by evening with everyone home, and needing this or that..I just find it easier to not play at night lol. Just a quick update and an invitation. The call of power and profit has sounded and a Troop of 60 mercenaries has answered. But more important than number of the kinship, I am very pleased with the quality, maturity, and positive outlook of our members.

If you would like to meet some of the company we are having our guild Roll Call (military formation) with guild party to follow this evening, Saturday June 2 8pm Central at the Fair Grounds North of Bree.

The festivities include plenty of pipeweed, ale, jousting, and a performance by one of the best minstrels in the land.

Although we have just exceeded 80 members we are still recruiting mature, friendly, and respectful members (see the original post for more specifics in what we look for). I am especially interested in rounding out the # of players that are typically online at any given time and as such would like to find more day-timers (8am-5pm Central) and Night Owls (Midnight - 4am Central).
