Thread: 1 of the 3 or 4 fights tonight

This is a video of stungun leading and shane calling targets. Not sure how many mere had, I believe 18-24. Stungun will be releasing a video with the other 2 or 3 fights later, but I guess you could call this a preview. Hope you like it.

Excuses aside from the pathetic lowbie creep focus fire we had, yes it was a 24 man raid. (or very close too)

Question: The talking you could hear in the video, was that vent or ingame?

I have an amazing PC but i play on low graphics i guess just cause im used to it idk.

Its been a good 2-3 years since i was in a proper freep raid. But if that was in game voice, i think i heard like 4 targets called.

In terms of target calling and specific raid job assignments its amazing the difference between freep and creep raids.

My hat really does go off to the current creep leaders, because its an absolute cluster head **** with the things you gotta keep on top of.

This is true I joined a freep 12man a couple nights ago and absolutely smashed the 18+ creeps out. All I had to do on my hunter was sit there and spam RoA and keep fleetness up. As long as everyone else does their job too - not much remains to be said.

On Creepside though, a bit more to keep track of. (In no particular order)

1. You have to make sure Webs are down as often as possible, the same with Blights (Not really with Fire Traps because BA's tend to handle that themselves, as long as they don't put them down on top of each other).
2. You also have to keep track of your ~8 rezzes.
3. You must also keep the Minstrels in-combat by Tooltipping them, a maximum of 4 tooltips per toon though so if there are more than 4 mini's this will require someone else to tooltip them (or good tabbing).
4. You have to make sure the Freep Healers aren't Target Forward healing.
5. You have to make sure your Creeps are focussing fire (because creeps need focus fire to win, freeps just AoE mostly).
6. You have to make sure your Creeps are positioned correctly (surrounding the fraid, not balling up and of course LOSing when they are being focussed).
7. You have to constantly switch targets when things get bubbled, in harms way, last stand, feign death, shield-walled or spam healed.

Having said all this it can still be a pain to get good, geared Freeps that actually know how to play.

.. But when you do.. you simply pwn.

Agreed however there are some nights where creeps are on their A-game and have support raids and freep leaders need to step it up.

-Killing the right targets (killing WL's is pointless, killing defilers is okay, killing BA's and reaver's is a priority).
-Focusing the right AOE sections of the masses
-Calling out who needs heals by identifying a ranked creeps target as you kill it
-Pushing at the right moments into the ba/wl cluster.
-Organizing tar and calling out which captain to rez who and to do what when they receive a rez
-Appropriate CD usage of fellows, ihwls, make haste
-Leader selecting the next target before the first dies (twice as many kills)
-Keeping control of your raid (on freepside half the people in the back chase a random warg)
-Reminding of debuffs such as windlore, firelore, minis fearing wl's burgs mezzing and adling and champ horns
-Keeping calm, as easymode as freepside is when your facing 40+ creeps it can be laggy and overwhleming when you kill 5 6 more pop up

I will always back-up my statement though that: "You haven't led a moors raid until you've led creep side." And like Fizze said props to any creep leader that does it, and a clap to anyone that does it successfully.

I agree with fizze as well... I do know the difference between freep and creep raids leading wise... but I also think that it depends on the freep leader that is there. A leader like myself, Yelk, Arrik, and maybe a few others are very loud, and say a lot more than just call targets like you saw shane did in the video. Shane tries to keep everyone calm by talking in a calm/slightly quiet voice so that others will feel the same way. I don't disagree with the strategy, but simply stating it.

Im sure both freep/creep leaders have there way of going about things. But on creepside its realy all the dame what the leaders call out/do. Like webs and rezes its tuff on creepside atm ive died more this book than any other lol. Salute to any leader that trys tho they deserve it!
