Obviously since I am posting here, I am a new player. My question is what is the most efficient way to buy the two premium classes as I would like to try both of them. I have been playing for less than a week but am enjoying the game so far and will most likely continue for a while.
What I haven't been able to figure out is if these two classes are available with any of the expansion packs or if they are only sold separately. I have signed up for VIP for 3 months, and I have about 600 turbine points right now. Since I plan on playing for a while, I thought I might save the TP I get through the game and through the monthly allotment to buy the expansions as I reach that content. I don't plan on starting my next character until I have gotten to at least lvl 20 with my Guardian (lvl 15 now). I wanted to fill up the character slots with a Hunter, Captain, Warden and Rune Keeper so that I could get a good feel for everything the game has to offer.
Since there is a very good chance I will be buying the expansions (at least the first one [Mines of Moria?]) anyway, are these included? I couldn't seem to find anywhere that said so definitively.
Anyway, if someone could set me straight, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
The classes are included in the Moria expansion pack, so you don't have to buy them separately. Just be careful that you don't get only the Moria questpack accidently.
If you had the opportunity to get an old retail box of Moria, even better. You'd not only get the full expansion content, but additionally another month of VIP. But these boxes have become quite rare in the meantime.
"HELP!!!!??" is not an appropriate thread title.
Only fools use apostrophes in a plural. That's when they're called fool's apostrophes.
Well, you can get this classes if buy Mines of Moria expansion (not quest pack!!!) from LOTRO Store for 2500 turbine points if I remember right. Also you can buy some physical edition of Mines of Moria expansion which inludes that classes also + some another cool stuff. For example you can buy MoM collectors edition from amazon only for 27$+delivery (3-4$ for U.S.). It includes Mines Of moria expansion + 1 month of vip + Game time card for 2 months of vip.
COLD - Sick Of Man, from "13 Ways To Bleed On Stage" album (2000)
A quick note on the Mines of Moria boxed expansion. If you decide to try looking for one, please make sure to get the Turbine version and not Codemasters. Codemasters keys will no longer work, but are still being sold in some locations. People selling them may just not know the difference or may be out to dump a useless key on an unsuspecting buyer.
So, the boxed edition gives me everything I want and includes 3 months of VIP which I would have payed for anyway and it costs the same as VIP access for 3 months would normally cost? That sounds like the way to go, for sure. Thanks for the tip about the two different versions. I'll be carefull when scouring the internet.
Follow up question: I read somewhere that the expansion adds 2 character slots. Does that mean I can have 7 characters per server instead of 5?
I don't know why people continuously say Moria boxes are rare. Amazon.com still has new Turbine copies.
The box code only includes ONE month of VIP.
Character slots:
Free account: 2 permanent
Premium: +1 perm (once you spend any real money at all, you are permanently premium)
Moria expansion: +2 permanent
VIP: +2 rented
= 7, but when you stop being VIP, you lose two slots (you choose which ones).
You can always buy additional permanent slots with TP.
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won

Please include a link to this if you have seen it on Amazon. The Collector's edition comes with only 30 days VIP time as part of the product code. (However, it DOES come with a useless cloth map, a CD of music, and the One Ring!)
For new folks, note that if you buy a Moria box, all you need from it is the new, unused product key. Log in to your account and apply it there. Do NOT install any software from the box; you already have all the software you need.

Probably you mean Complete Edition? But I got one Collector's edition and it gives me MoM+1month of vip + game time card for 2 months of vip. I had a game time card in my box, don't know about any other boxes.
Update: I found a brand new Turbine Mines of Moria box on ebay. With shipping, it cost me about $28. Thanks for all the tips, and I look forward to trying the new classes when it arrives!

I think with 7 you can have your own kin and kinhouse. I forget the exact number but its getting close to what is needed to maintain a kin. I am not sure if your kin will stay around if you drop back down to 5 players after having had 7 for a while, though (?). I think I have 9 slots now from buying them here and there. Its a lot cheaper to buy a character upgrade than to buy the same amount of vault upgrade, by the way, esp if you use in game gold to get a few vault slots but you have to level the bank character some to do that

UPDATE: Expansion arrived safely in the mail and I am now the proud owner of a lvl 6 Rune Keeper. Enjoying the new class so far as well as the bonus run speed pocket item that came with the expantion. I am very pleased with my purchase and hope to make the most of it!

By now you probably know this, but it is 1 month of VIP not 3...just want to make sure you wouldn't end up unhappy when you see your credit card charged again
Yes, I think someone brought that up before I made my purchase, so I was aware! Very much enjoying my new Rune-Keeper (lvl 10 now) though it is quite an adjustment from playing Guardian. And boy, that run speed item you can get on every character you make is a huge bonus.
runekeeper and warden with mines of moria expansion
if i have already bought the warden and runekeeper classes and tthen later buy the mines of moria expansion pack do i get rufuned for purchasing the two classes or do i lose those points anyway?

You lose the points. If you have already bought them, you might consider buying the Moria quest pack instead of the full expansion.
