Thread: Please merge this server with another dead one

Is there any way to merge the populations of 2 dead servers? This isn't even an MMO it's just an RPG at this point. The auction hall is dead, there are like 5 active kinships. I'd really like the full MMO experience, I've already bought $40 worth of points and I don't feel like paying $25 to transfer to another server (which is beyond absurd). Do something, Turbine!!

Not sure what level you're at, so can't say anything specific, but the last couple of weeks have brought in a lot of new members who are leveling up. There is no need to merge this server with any others.

If this server doesn't suit, roll up a toon on another one. No transfer fee required.

Good luck wherever you end up. I've found both Landroval and Brandywine busy every time I ck on them, so they may suit you better.

You and I have different definitions of dead. When I pass through Combe on my captain, I can't throw a buff on all the newbies I pass because there are so many of them. And all the established players are in Galtrev. Perhaps you're at a low spot in the levelling adventure or are not looking in the right places. Less active than Brandywine? duh. Dead? no.

I don't know, I like small servers, and I'm quite glad I'm here.
At least you don't need to stay in lines to do something, like in other MMOs on big servers.

Apparently there aren't even enough people on this server to disagree with you.

More servers= more characters to make to get 10TP free in 5-10 minutes for 'a little extra never hurts'

Find a timezone appropriate kinship, it makes all the difference. There were only around 70 people in glff on gladden last night and kin was running orthanc and not enough places in raid for everyone that wanted to go.

Since when was Gladden dead? It's had a very, very stable population of several hundred active at any given time. Sure we don't currently have the expansion boom numbers but in no way is it dead!

Last couple of times I've been on, GLFF had over 200.

So, yeah, not actually dead. Try again.

I thought I stepped into a Great Barrows raid ... each and every barrow filled with numerous players.

I thought I'd finish Feast-Beast deed in Winterhome ... impossible, too many players at the tables.

I was asked if I want to join a skirm raid ... but when I finished typing YES! the raid was already full.

And I never seen GLFF empty, even in the 'weird times I'm online' (Germany here)


There are only very few I've met in Forochel though ... and I paid to get Forochel quest pack! Turbine, go merge Forochel with Galtrev !!! ;D

Gladden aint dead, the last week me and some friends have noticed over 100 entries in Bree every day and 80% of them are usually below lvl 40. You got to keep in mind that not every player knows about glff nor use it, I didnt discover it before lvl 60

I ran a new character through the intro yesterday: over 100 level 1-6s in Archet. Holy moly.

I think they misspelled glff thats why there was only 1 person in it. Him. So no reason for a screenshot i am sure we have all joined an empty channel before. Or misspelled glff for that matter

According to this site, which is live, Gladden is very active.

A few months ago and this thread would've been appropriate. But now? No way.

Coming back after the "free" month in TOR (won't be re-subbing) for the first time since the launch of Isengard and I'm pleasantly surprised at how active Gladden is. Bree is PACKED, bustling like I haven't seen in years. Groups actually looking for GB and GA on a regular basis, something I haven't experienced since SoA. Crafting hall is packed like a casino, can't win in the festival eating contest because all the food is gone before I can click. Galtrev is lag central. The GLFF is usually at 200+ even off peak times, which I haven't seen in forever. Multiple pug raids running, whereas even in Mirkwood is was usually just kins running them. And the freeps have actually been outnumbered a few times lately.

I don't know what spurred the mini-Renaissance on Gladden, but I love it and hope it's here to stay for a while.

If you think your server is dead come to Firefoot. We are lucky to have 180 ppl in GLFF on a busy day. Logged into Brandywine the other day and there was 400 in Glff. I know not everyone is in Glff but it's a good indicator.
Sadly it makes sense for a merger, and we want it so, they are not going to do it....

GLADDEN AINT DEAD, tried to quest in low level places yesterday, it took 4x the time cause of so many others doing the same quests. Saw people everywhere. Have never seen so many people in the old forest.

If anything, there's too many low-level players on this server. The problem is that they're almost all f2p and no one is using the auction house, so it continues to be totally dead. I literally can't make gear for my toons because there's no mats on the ah, so I stopped levelling until I can find a way to get mats. It really sucks.

what sort of mats do you need? Try posting a request in the server's trade forum, it isn't the best place, but sometimes works. Actually if you will post there, I'll see what I can do to help.

Well, several options come to mind-making a WTB announcement in the trade channel may yield some good results, or, you know, talking to the other people in the game (joining a kin if you're so inclined helps with this. I know our kinnies are very good about helping each other with materials) and letting them know you'd appreciate a hand or can trade something they might need.

One thing that won't remedy your problem, however, is kvetching on a thread that there are now TOO MANY peoples running around on the server in a thread suggesting the opposite. Though I thank you for the entertainment.

I am al for merging low population servers.
However, and without wanting to be rude to the OP, you simply have absolutely no clue on what is a dead server if you think gladden is dead...

When I made the thread gladden was pretty dead. Even in bree but since then lots of new people have come. The higher level zones 40+ are still kinda bad but not as bad as before. Basically you'll find that low level areas are swamped, the mid-level areas are fairly empty and then at high levels its swamped again.

Gladden was my original server when LotRO launched, and my sporadic playtime over the years included a move to Landroval. That said, I recently decided to roll back on Gladden for a change of pace, and I've been pleasantly surprised at just how active and busy Gladden is now... seems like more so than Landroval, believe it or not. I don't know why all of a sudden the population is booming here, but I'm not complaining.

NOT dead. Bree is layered every day and I can barely log on my 75 without the game crashing because Galtrev is so crowded. If you play in prime USA PST times you'll see it. The only server I play on that feels more crowded is Laurelin.

I have had trouble with some crowding in the barrows. And my new Alta are swamped with folks

hope they one day merge this server with another one, then maybe it would be more pugs. I shouldnt have to join the top crowded kinships just to get in a group for classics and stuff :/

I've got to agree with the poster, this server really feels like cheers(yeah, everyone knows everyone). There's a handful of people who are willing to lead pug raids and a lot of private activity from kins that seems to be limited by who is on at a given time(even in large kins). From the technical side of things, I admit I have no clue how viable it is to do a server merger, but Gladden really does have a small town feel and that can't bode well when more people are sure to leave with upcoming MMOs due out soon.
