How many Gravenwood quests are there at the moment?
I'm at 22 of 24 for the "Quests in the Gravenwood" deed. I'm missing four of the seven quests from Andreg's whistle stop tour (assuming none of those four gates more quests) due to confusion and a reading fail. With Google's help I found Elfrith (three quests) and Cuthric (three more), despite Leofric's reticence about assigning them. I assume when Leofric assigns them that will be another quest. Per the Known Issues note Thurbald is currently disabled with his three quests.
So would the total be 30 quests once Thurbald is reactivated, assuming you don't do my boneheaded fail on the Goat chain?
Re: How many Gravenwood quests are there at the moment?
Ah. Would you mind filling me in? Here's my log:
1 A Dark and Lonely Forest
2 A Grave Corruption
3 A Peace-shattering Silence
4 A Prime Cut
5 A Shameful Loss
6 Baa Baa Black Sheep
7 Charge of the Ox
8 Clear-cutting Orcs
9 Dimming the Lights
10 Evil in the Wood
11 Evil Things
12 Eyes in the Forest
13 Eyes of the Riders
14 Heading off the Stampede
15 In the Shadow of the Mountain
16 Joining the Hunt
17 Mystery of the Trees
18 Seeking a Solution
19 Spirits of Dunland
20 Tribunal of Shadows
21 Tribunal of Shadows - Instance
22 Trophies of the Enemy
23 Wanton Destruction
Ah... I guess the Instance doesn't count toward the deed.
Anyway, I know I'm missing these permanently from Tracking an Old Goat:
- Cruel Traps
- Hunting the Pack
- Lost Caw
- Orc-mischief
And these from the disabled Thurbald:
- Breath of the Dragon
- Into the Dragon's Maw
- Pulling the Dragon's Teeth
And this from the disabled Leofric:
- Silent Riders
Re: How many Gravenwood quests are there at the moment?
You seem to be missing these:
Bringer of Ill News
Coming to a Conclusion
Taking a Stand (+ instance)
Taking a Stand may require completing Thurbald and Leofric's quests, since those NPCs appear in the instance. IIRC, Coming to a Conclusion and Bringer of Ill News come after that instance.
"Yet there may be a light beyond the darkness; and if so, I would have you see it and be glad."

Thanks for the tip! I wouldn't have known not to do that.
Between this and the danged Goat deed (which I didn't read about until it was too late), it seems to me that to "win" you need to study the forum and Google before actually doing the quests, to avoid taking the canonical arrow to the knee.

Why? Volume 3, Book 4 is not connected to the area quests. A customer without the Isengard quest pack can complete the entire current Volume 3. Later on do all the regular quests when the region is unlocked.
Sure there is a suggestion to help everybody in an area before moving on. Your decision as when to advance the Epic does not affect anything except the Epic.
His permanent disapperance is not linked to Tal Methedras or the Epic Line. He is killed in an instance later on in Gravenwood. The quest and instance are not available because they are later on in the quest chain that is currently disabled.

I agree that they shouldn't be linked. However, there are some odd quest linkages in RoI & U5.

How certain are you of this? He doesn't die and disappear after the instance where one "defends" the Tree of Mustering, so what instance kills him? (One does the quest turn in to Leofward *after* completing that instance.)
I have two characters waiting on Leofward to give the quest to go talk to the scouts and I'm not willing to experiment. There have been too many quest chain "blocking" conditions recently for me to be willing to take the risk.

I'll be an experimental data point for you. I ran three quests each for the two scouts that he would have sent us to if he weren't off-line. I'm hoping that when he and Thurbald come back on-line, finishing Thurbald's bit will be enough to satisfy him. Either way Thurbald will give me enough for the Gravenwood deed, even though the Andreg line is gone forever.

The test condition would be one of *not* getting the quest from Leofward, then completing Book III.4 (the quests in the final run though Tal Methedras) and seeing if Leofward is still at the Rohirrim Scout Camp.
(Let me note that the characters I've mentioned have completed the Gravenwood Quests deed. I want the additional quests for Rohirrim rep.)

That's what I did, and he does show up in the Scout Camp, but has no quest available(he had only one quest, which doesn't lead you anywhere) I guess he has no ring because the other quest got disabled.
Re: How many Gravenwood quests are there at the moment?
Don't know if this was in the update notes or not, but it appears that 5.1 has fixed the Gravenwood questline bug. The NPC at the Scout Camp now gives the quests and sends you on your path to helping the scouts. This was broken for a while, but it appears Turbine has worked it out and put the intro quest back in play. There shouldn't be any problem any longer in completing the questing deed for Gravenwood now.
