Thread: Snowbourns New Raid Progression Thread

Im making a new raid progression thread for the new Tower of Orthanc raid, plus i may copy across from the old Honvik thread if people want.

Reply to this thread with your:

1) Kinship Name
2) Tier1 Bosses Completed
3) Tier2 Bosses Completed
4) Tier2 Challenges completed
5) Screen shot if its a particularly rare kill

Feel free to post what your kinship/PuG has achieved, i shall update this every evening if required.

T1 will be added currently until such a time as its pointless, and the T2 + Challenge will be added as Kinships do them.

Riddles in the Dark cleared Othranc tier 1 in first week, hoping for tier 2 this week after new year.

Hi Glurf,

Gondolin's Heritage have completed Fire/frost, Ligthning, Acid and Shadow wings so far.

Raiding group Raidgroupx finished full t1 20/12/2011 - already mentioned here in old topic.

Figli di Eorl yesterday finish also Lightning (with 11 player after several wipe in 12 -.-; ) and Shadow in T1.

Dutch Dunedain cleared the first 4 bosses on T1 and Saruman T1 with a semi pug (8 people form DD and 4 pugs)

Correction to previous post, we just killed him with an entire kin run. So you can remove those 4 pugs

Blockwork Orange downed Saruman T1 (and the rest of Orthanc with the aid of 1-2 PUGs in some instances).

Edges of Insanity has done a full T1 clear. Finally managed to down Saruman as a full kingroup as well tonight. Gz to all the others too!

I think most of the raiders who visit forums know there is some bug/exploit going on in saruman fight that allows you to kill him very easily.

I hope kins on our server have enough decency to post only properly done kills.

Hi mate,

Whats the bug/exploit? the only way I've done him (2 weeks ago) involved 5 waves of ever increasing Sarumans and lots of puddle avoidance to be picked up by 'eagles'.

I'm curious what the bug/exploit is so people dont do it and more importantly ensure my kin doesnt do it if someone finds out a quicker way to do it.

I did hear rumours some kins/pugs have done so but cannot dig info on what the bug is. (except lighting wing's bug that causes you to give up as mobs are unattackable bleh)

I don't want to go into specifics but there is unintended game mechanic in the fight that allows you to kill him way earlier, before phase 4/5. When you are going into the fight with the knowledge there are 5(technically 6) phases of the fight and you finish it way earlier, it is pretty clear there is something wrong there.

You can add KoLT to the list of T1 clears.. We took it down a couple weeks ago, actually (with the help of Iyvan), and cleared it again on Wednesday with a couple PuG (sorry, I'm bad with names). After trying Saruman T2 (got him to T4 so far), T1 is rather easy.

Didn't take any screenshots, though many of us are wearing the chest piece so that's proof enough I guess.

To be honest T1 isn't that hard, and we've since been banging our heads against the T2 challenges. Some really fun fights in there!

Don't know anything about an exploit, but it sounds lame.

Edit: Sry for the no screenshot, though the character logs come in handy in this case, actually. Meliane 2011/12/25 Completed 'Tower of Orthanc: The Mind of Saruman -- Tier 1' Meliane 2011/12/25 Completed 'Tower of Orthanc: Saruman's Ring -- Tier 1' Didn't really update at the time as T2 are the more notable achievements.

Gondolin's Heritage has done Saruman T1 last night.
