Thread: [Undamaged White-Wolf Corpse]=myth?

I read up on posts a year or more ago, claiming that [Undamaged White-Wolf Corpse]s could be found off the Whitemane Wolf in the Southern High Pass in the Misty Mtns.

I had also read that people had obtained the barter item after only a few tens of wolves. I have killed at least a whole deeds worth of them, (making a nice shiny gold in the process), and roamed all over, but to no avail.

Has the drop rate or area changed since the posts I read? Is it all a myth?

It's not a myth. I have one. It took considerably more than 10 wolves to get it, though. I'm also not sure if it actually came from Misty Mountains or if I acquired it in Forochel since I deeded the two very close together.

Make sure that you kill the correct type of wolves.

Wiki says that they drop from three varieties of white wolves, but according to mmodb, that this trophy drops from
Fierce Wolf
Totemic Pack-Leader
Totemic Wolf
which are abound near the Gauredain settlement in the southern part of the "new" area in Misty Mountains. I recall that I got mine from a Totemic Wolf. Try them.

Correcting myself: apparently at some stage these totemic kinds of wolves had been renamed into White*, and you were hunting the correct ones. Sorry for misleading you inadvertently!

It appears that all the wolves in the region were renamed Whitemane Wolf, so it leads me to wonder if you can get the barter item off them at all anymore. Since they used to drop from the Totemic series of wolves.

One dropped for me 3 or 4 days ago. Of course I can't remember the name of the wolf. I was trying to avoid the damn things at the time too.

One just dropped for me while questing in the Gauradan camp in the Misty Mountains. Can't remember the details about the wolf.
