Please, please let you be wrong. I don't want to wait a full year to pick up whatever skill I missed.
I count 20, as well...neither the springfest brew-mugs nor the tasty biscuits have "skills" associated with them (the biscuits does have a deed (well, 5), but they only grant titles).
If you get like minded people, these emotes can be REALLY fun. But only for about 10s until everyone uses all their stuff.
So my proposal was that if you get hit by one of the consumables, it resets the cooldown of your consumables. That way it can go on for ages and it would be a blast.
As is, it's barely even fun. It's just something to do every 5 minutes if you're standing around doing nothing (except if you're waiting around in a raid because the deeds don't count. Too bad since I spend 90% of my time in a raid when I'm just standing around.)
Log in a character from that account and move it to your house.
Have fun tossing emotes at your f2p character all day long.
(Add an "opt out" to the game and I'll support calls for reduced, unconnected cool downs. But I want that "opt out" FIRST.)

How do you "have fun" doing it "all day long" when they have shared and long cooldown? You can only use 1 item once every 5 minutes. (I can't remember exactly which ones do not have shared cooldowns, but those are few, so let's just assume out of the 20 festival items, 15 have shared cooldown. With 300 item use required per deed, with each on 5 minute cooldown, that's 15*300*5 = 22500 minutes or 375 hours or 16 days to get them all done, assuming you do it "all day long" for many days and don't miss a single cooldown.)
Before, with low and separate cooldowns, it was certainly possible for players to group up and just toss those items at each other all day long and be done quickly. (They used to be on 2-minute cooldown, so 300*2 = 600 minutes or 10 hours to get them all done, since they have separate cooldowns and can be done simultaneously.)
Now it's not.
Deeders are now required to continue using those items well beyond the festival period because of limitations of the cooldowns, so you're now even more likely to see these things in action even during non-festival times and outside of festival grounds. Many deeders are now more likely to use these items on whoever they come across just so they don't waste the cooldown, thereby increasing the incidences of "griefing" -- if you would consider a single use of a festival item as that -- so, really, you're embracing a "solution" that doesn't do anything to help with your problem at all, you're just encouraging even more random drive-by "griefing".

There are only 2 consumables for this Spring festival: the D.R.A.G.O.N. and Doom-Shrooms. Luckily, they DO NOT share a cooldown.
The Spring brew-mugs have a 10 min CD, but there's no deed associated with them (and the Biscuits have the 5 quotation deeds, which just grant titles).
But, yes, the amount of time it takes to do these is ridiculous. Luckily, I managed to finish the Autumn festival before the changes; but completing the Winter festival consumables was ridiculously tedious. A toggle should have been added months ago, and the CDs should have been returned to their original state. I'm really glad there are only 2 this time through.
Why did they put in a deed that, in order to complete it, you HAVE to do things that will make people yell at you. I really expected them to lower the amount required for the deed and raise the amount you have to pay for each item, but they've just left this to fester. Maybe they don't realize what's happening?
Of course, my snarky response is that this is another way that they've changed the festivals from being a fun diversion from the regular game to instead being a way to break people of their completionist tendencies!
OK, I completed the last two festival consumable deeds today (taking my total to 20 - all of them) and no hidden special deed or anything. Oh well. I've noticed many meta-deeds being added recently and was hopeful!
By the way, I gotta say that they emotes have cool icons, especially Bucket of Fear and D.R.A.G.O.N. I just need another couple quickslot bars! :-)
