Actually, for Guardians (and heavies in general), this isn't much of a nerf. Most Guards will have well over 50% common mitigation and close to or above 50% for tactical, so that extra 50% will still cause all blows to be absorbed. It's more of a nerf for the lighter classes, I think.

It now works on all damage types, not just Shadow/Fire/Common. So its not really a nerf. It now works on Frost, Acid and Lightning too since it applies to all incoming damage.

Re: Endurance of Stone now 50% instead of 75%?
Actually, the skill has been broken since RoI went live. We updated it to include all damage types and lowered the efficacy a little in favour of the greater breadth. This is more a hit to non-heavy armour wearing Dwarf characters than to heavy-armour Dwarfs.

Do you play a man guard or just here to hijack a guard post for your man warden because a dev replied in it?

Good to know, thanks.
I play a man champ, warden, hunter and LM...I'm interested in man heal as well. Is it so far fetched to think that other racial skills may have been looked at if others had?
Have you heard that there aren't racial bonuses in SW:ToR?
I have a dwarf guard if that gives me any street cred.

This post was about the dwarf racial, not the man. And the question about man heal was one of the most vague questions I've ever seen on this forum.
Kindly make your own thread if you are "interested" in the man heal.

And thanks for the response Orion.
Why waste a new thread if this one will suffice? There are people in this world that don't have enough threads, why be wasteful. Then again a tribute thread to Orion for posting in the guard forums is probably justified.
What does "interested" mean...very strange usage of quotations. Good luck on policing the forums.

When the skill was first introduced, it covered all mob damage types, (Common, Fire, Shadow) and had 75% magnitude.
Forochel introduced frost damage April 2008. (Not really a big deal, since frost wasn't used much in end-game content)
Moria introduced Acid damage November 2008. (All 3 end-game raids used a TON of acid damage)
Siege of Mirkwood introduced Lightening damage December 2009. (Only found on SG 2nd boss and Durchest)
Rise of Isengard introduces no new damage type in September 2011. At this point, you intend to update Endurance of Stone to include all damage types again, but this time, we only get 50% magnitude.

Thought it was broken.. When ROI was released noticed it was changed to 75% Physical and 75% Tactical from Common, Shadow and Fire.. but the few times I used it didn't seem to change any numbers.
With the 50% now still pretty much makes you absorb all damage as a Guardian depending on your mitigations.
"As a fun bonus feature, Saruman will sometimes attack players with light-based damage, which is a first for any enemy mob in the game. Guess how much defense there is for players against light damage? Yeah. You're going to get pounded."

Reason: Found the article.
The tooltip in game says -50% melee, ranged, and tactical damage. That makes me think it is the old melee, ranged, and tactical defenses rather than mitigation and that would imply multiplicative reductions, not adding to your existing mitigations.
Used the skill and had a look at what it modified. It gives 50% reduction to the incoming damage and not to the Mitigations.. So the previous poster is right
So presume that means if a boss uses a skill that would be 1000 damage.. it then becomes 500 damage before your mitigations further reduce it.. assuming it got through your avoidances..
