Hey all,
Want a new special skin? This is what to expect:

To get a skin you will need a (greater) sigil of battle obtained from a lockbox. To open the box you will need a sturdy steel key. Regular sigils can be bartered for two different skins. Greater sigils can be bartered for one of three different skins.

- Lootboxes drop from ANY monster in the Ettenmoors (including DoF).
- Lootboxes appear to have a droprate in between 1:1000 and 1:2000. It is pretty random. Some people have been grinding for days without result, others got it on the fifth slug they kill.
- Keys drop slightly less often than lootboxes. You can buy keys in the store for 100 TP.
- The chance of getting a sigil from a box seems to be around 20-25% (or less)
- Other loot in boxes can be creep consumables or two stacks of questitems (Around 5 hand-ins/stack). Another piece of loot can be Mordirith's brand, with the same specifications and requirements as a R15 brand.
- Lootboxes, keys and sigils are NOT bound.

The keys do get used up opening the boxes. I am not sure if boxes/keys are BOA, but I do not believe they are.

The drops from the boxes are varied. I was able to open 5 of them on BR (they are a pain to farm), I received delving potion stacks, rank 15 barter food (which I could use even at rank 11), and a stack of 25 CG symbols worth 2.5k infamy.

Do we have evidence of boxes/keys dropping since update 5 went live?

Would anybody really be that surprised if the drop system was experiencing 'Unforeseen errors'

Store doesnt seem to be fully up and running yet.

farmed the #### out of the delving blight kiting and nothing.

I can't find any Sturdy Steel Keys on the lotro store. Or lockboxes on dof...

that a screenie of BR or post update ? Been in HH for 2 hours and Dwarves for 2 hours .... no drop at either.

We farmed that on Brandywine this morning, about 500 dwarves killed to get it.

The stack of CG symbols excites me 2.5k infamy WOO i wonder if there is a stack of 100 out there? I can sell em and buy potions for a year+

Warg on Landy farmed dwarves 4+ hours and got one.

But still no keys...

i helped kill the drake matron in delving and no box/key drop.

Been at it since servers came back up at Dwarf Camp and nothing!

Because an extra 100 infamy a day would destroy the balance of the game.........

I think he's more interested in selling them to others.

This new barter system belongs in a Korean grindfest mmo, not LOTRO. Once again something I was excited for on creepside turned out to be underwhelming to say the least.

On landy we got one box with a warg after 4 hours of farming dwarf camp, and 5 hours after that still no key or another box. Drop rate is way lower than 1% for box. Warg killed about 500 dwarves for first box. Since then we've killed over 3k easy and no more boxes.

I agree. Lately, everytime I get excited about something in lotro, I just end dissapointed. Some creeps on my server were farming npcs all around the map since the servers came up, and afaik no box has been found yet.

I tried myself for about 3 hours inside DoF, killed every kind of npc inside, and got nothing.

I farmed npcs for a bit but got nothing, so decided to do the slug quest. I was fairly surprised when the slug I beat dropped a box. Apparently sometimes the easiest way is the best

I am convinced that I am part Korean, 12 hours of farming Dwarf Camp/DoF/Slugs/Eagle Valley/Ost and nadda!

900 Hobbit legs later and 5 hours in HH, Nothing to show for it except 22g richer and the quest items.

500+ dwarves, 50+ hobbits, and over 20 gold richer.......no box! This box is harder than i expected to get

Anyone manage to get one to drop in the DoF? From what I've heard, it might not be on the loot tables in there.

Yes the +% items in the store have been around for a while but you still needed to do some work.

Go back to your cave, troll! You can only do the cg symbol quest 1 time a day, and there is no store-way to get those.

well its very easy people!

they let us farm and grind untill we get tired than they release the Keys or the Sigils in the store for people to buy lol, Turbine fails again!
