Thread: Nasty's Will

Wow. It's hard to look back and realize you've been playing the same game for 4.5 years... I can attribute that to the people I've met and the friends I've made in LotRO.

Yeah, this serves as a goodbye thread. It's not a cry for attention. I just wanted to say goodbye because I truly meant what I said above. I have very fond memories of this game, and like I said, the people I've come across. Thank you for making this a great experience.

In the end, Turbine's lack of attention to PvMP and detail with regards to PvE end-game content did me in, but most of all, I can attribute my leaving Middle Earth to the simple fact that I've just been playing this game for too long. It's as simple as that. There's no hard feelings - I think Turbine did (for the most part) a great job in recreating Middle Earth, but I'd be kidding myself if I couldn't admit it has grown stale. Thus, I'm packing up my lute, and moving on.

As the title suggests, this is my will. I give to the following:

• To Raithon: Limited Edition Lynyrd Skynyrd CDs and a variety pack of whiskey, mostly comprised of JD
• To Balbaroy: my old pair of PF Flyers - you know what to do
• To Pessot: a Canadian flag ONLY to be hung on Tuesdays between 4:00am and 5:00am
• To Horosi: a $10 Best Buy giftcard
• To Gilaborn: an un-died hair from Brian Wilson's beard - very rare, please take care of it
• To Helly: BBQ sauce - take it wherever you go
• To Gomlie: my beard trimmer - just make sure the thing doesn't shake when you finally pass on
• To Snarles: a pair of buttons - gurrrrrllllll
• To Havoksnipes: a pair of tickets to a Sabres/Sharks Stanley Cup game - we can dream, can't we?
• To Meradir: a brand new SSD - don't break it
• To Thulock: a new air conditioner for that Arizona heat and a couple of those green plants
• To Silvyr: a D&D handbook
• To Markvornn: a pint of Pepto Bismol and a $25 Target giftcard - meet me there anytime, dude!
• To Guage: some moves that I learned in China - just clear some space before you try them
• To Greenknight: a pack of smokes and some scented oil for the bedroom
• To Montero: a new lawnmower - sorry for not pausing the raid
• To Sholeh/Bahareh: some tomato sauce - just in case the skunks come back
• To Lovidicous: a Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper single track - we need more cowbell, always
• To Palumbo: another copy of Skyrim
• To Dullteeth: a box of honey tea
• To Annatha: a pair of Hulk Hands, to punch the #### out of Reicker the next time he tries to slap you
• To Reicker: a microphone so we can hear you slap the #### out of Annatha, again
• To Kantar: a Brazilian G-string I picked up in Jamaica - trust me, it fits
• To Minye: a yearly subscription to Hustler magazine ()
• To BloodLine: an open-ended giftcard to iTunes - play (and buy) as much 80's music as you want
• To The Unforgiven: a shipment of boxes and a diorama of the 21st hall - have fun
• To Mithril Knights: a stripper pole - for Eanna, but mostly Bace
• To The Tater Bottling Company: a repair kit for all those broken LIs ()
• and lastly, To Revelations:

Firefoot, it's been fun. It's been real. But most of all, it's been memorable. Thanks for all the good times and the bad times. It's been a pleasure.

I think a lot of us are in the same situation as Nasty... this game has pretty much lost all of its luster and I know many aren't at all excited about the next new update, not only because of SWTOR but because Turbine has just taken the game in a direction that kind of states that they're in it mostly for the money as opposed to creating an awesome game that they are excited about and really put heart into creating (along with still making good money).

F2P didn't have to have as many obvious money dumps for even VIPs, such as scrolls of removal, stat tomes, making Isengard 5,000 TP in the store and separate from the raids, etc. And I know people will agree when they say Isengard as a whole felt unfinished and the story itself was not engaging and didn't make much sense. Last but not least, I think the most disappointing aspect of Isengard was the failure to add anything to PvMP besides balance changes and rewards, we were long ago lead to believe that they would be providing us with a new region, but as usual they later scrap that and we find out they didn't even start to create a new region at all.

The most recent event this weekend with the GMs is another thing that goes along with their failures of PvMP and the game as a whole. Hyping it to make it sound like it would be epic like Amarthiel, it turned out it was just 3 GMs that occasionally go to your server and just play on rank 15 creeps, not saying a word to creepside and logging off as soon as they die a few times.

I'm not sure if I'll be coming back to LOTRO after I start playing SWTOR, so I thought I'd also say goodbye to all of you on this server who I've ever played with. I've had some great experiences with this game (especially, being in the same boat as nasty, after 4.5 years) and I'll never forget them. To everyone who is going to SWTOR, I can't wait to have some fun over there with all of you . I'll still be playing until I can get SWTOR (have to wait until I get a new comp so not until closer to Christmas) so I look forward to trying to make the most out of this new update with the remainder of Firefoot.

Well i think Turbine has done a nice job with the updates because they usually end up giving classes different skills or diff ways to play. Only thing needed is the new pvmp zone and it would make alot more ppl happy. I cant fault turbine on anything else just for the fact they usually keep classes changing in playstyles. Every mmo i played i can always see how ppl get bored or grumpy if they limit themselves to only a couple parts of the game. I play every class an both sides of pvmp and theres always to much going on for me to do. I for one will never be bored. Just wish they give us the new zone soon

One of the best things about SW:TOR: you can have your companions craft for you. Now, when you make your kids play your toons, they can make your companions craft for them... it's almost like you'd be running a business.

Or a sweat shop. Pretty sure your kids aren't old enough to work yet.
