Dragonfly is an end game focused Kinship on the Landroval server!
Most of us met through pick up groups while in other raiding kins, and in the summer of 2010, we decided to follow our own path, and create a fair and fun environment for raiding. Dragonfly was born!
We are a small group of sociable, adult gamers and friends who've played this game for many, many hours who will see it through the bittersweet end. Many of us play nightly, have multiple raid ready toons, and play late into the night -- as a bunch of us are west coasters and the rest are night owls or live on the other side of the globe. We raid because we're good players and we love the challenge, but we also like to just hang out and goof around--play alts,pvmp, skirmishes, classic instances, help kin members, acquire gear etc.
While we are focused on current end game content, with 3-4 nights of scheduled activities every week, we also have members who don't raid, suffer from altitis, are creeps, freeps, deed completionists, festival party goers and horse collectors. We are curently working on T2C mode for Orthanc. We also do two Draigoch runs a week.
Since Dragonfly formed, we've rolled through all the raids, and were the second kinship on the server to take down the Lieutenant of Dol Guldur 2.0 (prior to Turbine swinging its nerfbat) and second on server to take down Durins Bane.

We use a DKP system (EARNED - SPENT= CURRENT) for all our raids.

Im confused here, explain to me how DKP is fair, as compared to a /roll. In a /roll everyone gets the op to roll on an item, with DKP you can be outbid...hmmmmm. Doesnt seem DKP is fair if you dont raid as often as the raid junkies. Seems to me the DKP favors those elitists in the kins that raid all the time and if you dont raid constantly dont expect to get that good gear, until the next update comes out and its obsolete.

Well I can not speak for how other kinships run their dkp, but in Dragonfly we strive for fairness to all raiders. Yes the members who raid more often have more DKP therefore they can purchase the items they want easily. But we do not put every item up for DKP. Currently Armour coins/second age symbols and non class specific teals are free so anyone who needs them can roll. I also use a suicide system in which a member can spend all of their DKP for an item they really want. Then they have to start over and begin earning again. This helps level out the field for the newer/less active members also.
DKP allows us to reward those members who were here wiping night after night trying to learn a new raid. Do you not think it is fair for the member who spent countless nights in there with us learning the raid reap the rewards before say the new recruit who all they have to do is go in once and walk thru the fight easily? To me that would be unfair to the person who put the work in.
No system is perfect but I think my members are happy and feel they get their gear quickly and fairly. Hope this clears this up for you a bit!
Dragonfly is still going strong two years later, when so many other kinships have faded away Dragonfly continues to grow and suceed.
We are one of the only West Coast timezone Raiding Kinships on this server.
Curently we are kicking butt in Tower of Orthanc. We have a full raid roster hitting Lightning T2 and Saruman twice a week as well as clearing all the other wings and a couple Draigoch kills as well.
On non scheduled raiding nights you can often find us either running old raids for fun and to complete deeds and even sometimes in the Moors where Dfly is well respected as a kin that brings the fight... we do not run for cover we leave it all out on the battlefield. We are very social for a raid kin.. we are all good friends and we are usually grouped running things together.

Raiding is in our blood it's what we love to do, but it is not all we do! Dragonfly is also social we love to group up and talk and laugh while doing 3/6 man groups or working the Epic line or even, gulp, deeding! We just love hanging out with our online family!
If you are an expert seasoned raider who is already geared and ready to go or if you are a newly 85 and need guidance and help learning what it means to be a raider we are the kin for you! You do not have to already know everything there is to know about raiding as long as you are willing to learn from our mistakes and years of experience. We are true believers in everyone deserves a chance!

Have you tried out any of the new instances? Gotten that awesome new first age symbol yet or maybe a gold item? Having to look for pug groups in GLFF to run things? Come apply to Dragonfly and have a fun group to run with. We are currently looking to fill in our roster so it is the perfect time to join us.
We have scheduled raids Tue, Thur, Sat and Sun at 8:30pst. We are a later night croud since most of us are Pacific time zone or just night owls. Sound like a good fit for you?
