This might be answered twenty pages into all the love below and I just missed it.
Are there no 3rd Age Bows dropping from level 64 to 74 mobs in all of Dunland?
All I have seen is a rare few Crossbows dropping from mobs shooting at me with bows in their hands.
Not the right place, but blame it on the frustration, we really need a barterer such as in 21st hall trading for Hunter Li's for Dunland (Level 64 to 75).

the do indeed drop... just from the random loot tables... so one is not guaranteed to ever see one drop... my suggestion would be save up the other class drops you accumulate and hit up trade channel and offer what you have for barter, someone might just take you up on your offerings...
I ended up using a level 74 bow b/c i could not find a decent 75 on the AH and a decent 75 never dropped from a mob. And I was unwilling to spend legacy or empowerment scrolls on a 3A bow regardless of whether it was 74 or 75. So i made do with it.
Fortunately, I snagged a worn symbol on a raid skirm fairly rapidly, so.......happy endings for me.
Its funny, to me it just seems like whatever class i'm on nothing for that class drops lol. If im on my hunter I get everythign but bows, play my burg ... here come the bow drops, play the guard ... here come the burg daggers lol.

Maybe its just me though lol.
Not even close to just you, I typically get 20+ legendary items for other classes between drops for my own class. Because of the relative scarcity I have been keeping my vault full of LI's to stick on AH or level up.
The task board is actually helping quite a bit, since people are killing a lot more mobs, but trying to get to 75 with a 65 SA bow was just terrible, especially with the survivability nerf we took with ROI, and the massive mob damage increase.
I died four times on that darn Devourer in the pit of iron.... 2000 morale per hit and other mobs called in unless you set up the fight just right...
/confirmed The drop-rate for LIs for any class other than the one who is looting is very high and WAI, although the drop-rate for LIs actually usable for the class that is looting is abysmally low. For example, a Hunter won't hardly ever see a LI Bow drop but a Champion will have them coming out the ears until their bags can't hold any more. Likewise a Champion will be hard-pressed to ever find a Champion's Rune on their own but a Hunter will accumulate so many they won't know what to do with them.
I suppose this is an intentional mechanic to discourage people from deconning 3rd Age drops and to barter/trade/sell for what they need with others.
The funny thing is that it has been this way since SoM, so it's nothing new.

Unless I was very, very unlucky L75 bows (as opposed to Xbows) were as rare as an extremely rare thing going thru the new books. When I hit 75 i ended up buying one in the AH.
But L75 legendary weapons drop like crazy in the Forges of Isengard Galtrev instance
The Blackmarch Fort (SE encampment in Nan Curunir) has been a pretty reliable place for me to get Third Age level 75 LIs. I have picked up a couple of bows (while farming on my hunter). If all else fails, you can always try trading the LIs you found for a 75 Third Age bow.
Just watch out for the Woodcutter's stuns, and the Warrior's armor reduction debuff (and, of course, the stone trolls). Make sure to loot any of the environment corpses/chests, as any can also contain LIs. Good luck!

also should be noted in this thread... if you do draigoch on t2 you will get a symbol, bypassing any need for a 3rd age bow...
Just to redirect this to original point, once your 75, Your golden. You can have a bow in one of several ways.
Don't even start on the lack of Level 70 Crafted Li's, that would have solved part of the problem.
The simple truth hurts the most:
Using a Level 65 Li to reach 75 is adding to the pain the Hunters where already dealt with a lousy hand of cards in Roi...

Unless you have a 65 First Age bow (109-198 starting damage), you should start looking to replace your 65 LI by level 70 or so with a stopgap to tide you over to 75 and your free cele for doing Draigoch. Otherwise your DPS will really suffer.
You should also do this if there is a really nice legacy you want to keep from your 65 LI.
(I'm feeling a bit smug atm because a 2A 75 bow a kinnie made for me yesterday had 5 majors, including focus crit, QS crit and induction crit, and I only needed to replace one

I hear you... I dropped my L65 SA bow for a L71 drop one at level 71, because the DPS increase (both of the weapons and the mobs) is extremely steep compared to any other similar level range in the game. Trying to take on the Upper Barnavon sigs and their guards was no fun with a L65 bow. My guardian leveled to 75 just fine with a L65 SA sword, but leveling a squishy is another matter. Between the lower mitigations and increased mob damage, the only thing to do, like it or not, is to join the DPS race. Both my hunter and LM saw a dramatic improvement by switching weapons halfway through.
Frankly, I think the steep DPS increase wasn't needed, and much less warranted by such a small expansion area. It seems like they crammed a leveling curve that should have covered at least three times that much geographical space. It makes no sense that from Galtrev, a L66 area, you can take literally a few steps south to Carreglyn (L71) or east to Gravenwood (L72) and be smacked in three hits.
