Thread: I can't join or invite others to a fellowship..

I have a bit of a dilemma that I'm hoping can be fixed sooner rather than later.
I logged in today and planned on doing some s4m 3 mans with some kin members. Found out I can't join or invite people to a fellowship. I talked with two GMs who were nice and tried to help me. I was told that I'd have to wait until server maintenance and that it should be fixed with that. No one seems to know when the next server maintenance is! They are done maybe once a month? I'd rather not wait that long, the rune keeper is my highest level character and my main. I decided to work on some book quests and skirmishes, since I can't join up with any s4m raids, and now I find that I can't enter an instance or skirmish! It's only happening to this one character. It's pretty inconvenient and sucks the fun out of my game play.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? How long did it take for Turbine to fix it or did you find a way to fix it on your own?

Please help I don't want to be stuck with just farming things on my main!

It happened to one of my friends. He had to wait for the next time the server was brought down and back up. There a several kinds of things that can hung in a funky state within the server complex. It takes a server restart to fix em. The game software runs on a group of Microsoft OS machines. This is the way these machines and apps work. You have to restart it.

The game client has issues. I typically have to restart my PC at least once every day because of client problems.

Check every day. You may get lucky. The machine in the cluster that in funky state may roll over and die. Have to be restarted. That would clear your issue.

It looks like I'll have to take my issue to Turbine. I really don't want to wait a few weeks to have full use of my character.

How long did it take to fix your problem? I'm now having the same issue today: cannot join or start a fellowship because it says I'm already in one (although I am not). As you described, I also cannot participate in quest instances in the game as well. I tried logging off and back on, switched to my alt (who is having no problems at all luckily) and even rebooted my computer. So, I cannot join a fellowship, instance or skirm now since the game thinks I'm in a fellowship already. I've reported the bug and made a special 'ticket' for it, but am a bit concerned if I must wait for the server to come down before it's fixed.
